I used to rent my property in Eaton…
I used to rent my property in Eaton Bray with Lenwells Dunstable, for 10 years with no major problems. Then Leaders took over and the past 5 years renting have been absolute hell. The (so called service) from Lettings Manager Sarah Carroll, (Dunstable Branch), has been appalling. The past 3 sets of tenants (supposedly credit checked), have all walked, either not paying outstanding rent, leaving utility bills unpaid along with council tax. I paid for a fully managed service (which was not fit for purpose), and had to do all of the chasing direct myself with these service providers. My flat has never had the regular property checks, in person to check everything was in order. As a result one tenant was not heating it, as he couldn't afford it. Subsequently my newly renovated and freshly decorated flat, had condensation damp mold on walls, ceilings and on new soft furnishings. Had my flat been checked properly this would never have happened. All Sarah Carroll is interested in, is that the Landlord to pay's for Premier Service, to increase her commission. My last tenants left on 30th May 2024. I have been chasing since August, to claim back two months arrears money, with the ex-tenants insurances. This has turned into a complete farce, and here I am in December, still not paid anything. Considering the diabolical service I've experienced I EXPECT SOME FINANCIAL COMPENSATION, for 5 stressful years. I will be contacting the Housing Ombudsman Service, with a very detailed complaint shortly. BIG WARNING Bedfordshire Landlords, AVOID LEADERS, DUNSTABLE like the plague, if you value your sanity and the condition of your property!

Experience has been seamless

One star is generous.

One star is generous.
I would give zero stars if I could. Leaders are shockingly unprofessional and disorganised. No communication, no responsibility, just endless excuses and being tossed between staff while nothing gets done. My deposit was delayed for weeks despite approval and paperwork being complete. Stressful, incompetent, and totally unreliable. Do not recommend to anyone.

I heartily recommend Leaders

I heartily recommend Leaders, the staff are friendly and very patient. They will happily go the extra mile and nothing is too much trouble for them. For someone new to renting I have found the staff very helpful and supportive.

Bad service nice staff members but horrible…

Mostly nice staff members but horrible process or no proper processes in place. They let and managed one of my properties. Previous tenant left with damages. Leaders didn’t even acknowledge it but then moved in new tenants straightaway without my approval because I need to clean up and carry out remedial works first to ensure that all is in order with my property. New tenants of course unhappy and demanded compensation which I paid as it’s fair. Leaders promised to assist in the remedial works but didn’t in spite of me chasing them so I arranged for them myself with the help of these new tenants. Issue raised with Leaders in Aug 2024, but was passed from pillar to post, then fobbed off until I threaten to escalate to TOP in Jan 2025. To cut this short, Complaint is resolved only early March, not really with a satisfactory outcome, but i sort of gave up as it was a horrendous experience for me and wanted it to end. Obviously, it has left a bitter taste in my mouth, so will never ever use them again.

Following my other review

Following my other review , after 64 emails and over 100 calls , it took them 5 months for them to release my deposit back. Could have been worse .

If you don't contact them don't think you will ever get your deposit back, as well as regarding property management , just forget it.

Your people skills are superb! I wish more people in Dunstable branch were more like you! Yet ironically the Dunstable branch is less than half a mile away from me and you’re hundreds of miles away from me and still managed to sort the issue and the same day too! Molly was very informative and friendly…

Molly was very informative and friendly when she showed my sister and I around our future home this morning. We asked several questions about this property and the area , she was very good at signposting us and giving us all the help we needed .Molly most definitely is brilliant at her job and we are grateful to her for taking us through this journey of finding a new home. Incredible!

My husband and I were desperate to move into a new home as quickly as possible due to horrific circumstances out of our control. Lauren worked complete magic! Quick is an understatement! She was kind, compassionate, understanding and very responsive to any questions we had! Lauren is an incredibly friendly woman and is very good at her job! I cannot recommend Leaders strongly enough! Thank you for helping us find our safe space and our new family home!

Lauren @ Leaders Dunstable

Lauren, Sarah & Molly are very professional yet friendly & knowledgeable on the local housing market.

They made the whole experience of using them to find a property feel like I was getting advice from a sister not some corporate sales person only interested in getting their commission.

They listened to what I was looking for and offered me properties that matched my requirements and even the odd property that I wouldn't have chosen for myself but still ticked all my boxes so to speak.

Overall I would highly recommend Leaders Dunstable and the lovely ladies who work there.

Worst letting agency

Worst experience we ever had with an agency! No help during our tenancy (my husband had to repair everything, the house was stinking of dog pee so we couldn't move straight away, carpets had to be cleaned 3 times and we painted the whole house ourselves, everything that broke during the tenancy it took weeks until they arranged for someone to come and mostly we ended up repairing ourselves, etc), but they hold on to our deposit until we agreed to pay £150 so we can get the rest of our money. They are extortionists, we made a formal complaint that was answered after several chases and we got nowhere to recover the money they illegally held. All we can do is let other tenants know they are an agency to avoid!
