Shocking service money takes ages to arrive they block paynent for no reason AVOID

I had an account for a couple of years and was really happy with it. Most modern functionalities were available and initially the only downside was that you can’t pay cash in to it. After a couple of months they introduced saving pots which was a nice feature. But then after about 3 years of having the account, I randomly received an email informing me the account had been immediately shutdown and they had no responsibility to tell me why and there was no room for discussion and no chance to reinstate it. I have absolutely no idea what caused this as none of my other accounts have been affected by anything around that time, or ever. And I understand they have regulations to follow, and fair enough if they can no longer offer me an account for whatever reason, but regardless of whether they have a responsibility to inform me or not, as a loyal customer for a few years it would’ve been nice to have been given even a glimpse of a reason. Either way they’re not going to reinstate the account so therefore don’t have to deal with me again. So what difference does it make to them whether they tell me the reason or not? But the difference it would have made to me, my mental state, and my financial security at the time would have been massive!!
I feel very disappointed and very let down by this new bank who i thought were doing well initially. Such a shame.

I used Kroo Bank for around 3 years with no issues and actually found it great for travelling. However, my experience recently has been extremely disappointing.
I didn’t open the app for around 3 months as I wasn’t travelling. During that time, Kroo did not email or text me about any issues. Instead, they only placed a message inside the app asking for proof of UK residency — which I didn’t see because I had no reason to log in.
They then abruptly closed my account with money still in it, without proper warning or external contact. I provided proof of residency immediately and asked why the account was closed so quickly and why I wasn’t contacted via email or SMS. The response was shocking — the support team was rude, unhelpful, and even closed the chat while I was still asking questions.
I also asked whether I could reopen or create a new account and was told I am permanently blocked from doing so, despite being a loyal customer for years with no previous issues.
This shows a complete lack of respect for long-term customers. Customer service is slow, and most of the time they don’t respond at all.
I would not recommend Kroo Bank to anyone. If something goes wrong, don’t expect support, transparency, or basic courtesy.

I find it truly disgusting that I have been locked out my account for a week due to a number change, it’s Christmas today and I have money in that account and still can’t gain access. I have emailed 5 days straight consistently and been told to send over ID which I done! Still no progress, fix my account !!!

If you’re looking for a bank that provide excellent customer service then I can highly recommend Kroo. Make the switch to them and you won’t be hanging on the phone very long if you need to speak with them unlike other banks. Everything is made easy and you won’t be going round in circles
There are answers too 24/7 online.

The customer service department for this bank is a total shambles. The only way you can rectify an involuntary frozen account is by using the in app chat, which takes 3 working days to respond with anything actionable, and their phone lines have no connection to the chat. For any other bank, unfreezing an account is a mere click of a button or brief telephone call. The company’s complete ineptitude has blocked salary, rent and credit card payments which are affecting my credit rating. This is still ongoing. Any complaints also take 8 weeks to be processed. Complete disaster. Do not use this bank under any circumstances.

I held a Kroo account for around 3 + years and found they were much more inquisitive about my transactions than my other banks I.e Nationwide and Starling. A few months ago they informed me they would be closing my account. I asked why but no reason was forthcoming other than to point to their T&C’s which made me none the wiser. Coming up to date they asked me for the bank details of an account to pay the closing balance into and a statement for the account. I have given them the account details but can see no reason why I should give them a statement. They are holding my just under £40 in the meantime.

One of the worst companies I have ever dealt with.
After opening a savings account with kroo 3yrs ago they decided to freeze and then close my account.
I had taken a % of a old works pension and had lent money to friends in need .
As they started to pay it back into my kroo account, I was getting emailed by customer service asking who they were , how I know them, asking for middle names etc, at this time I was going through chemotherapy and radiotherapy for cancer, so was very stressed and anxious with that.
Making kroo customer service aware of my situation and how much stress I was under fell on deaf ears.
To the point I was taken into hospital for 5 days due to the stress I was under, even this did not stop kroo freezing and then closing my account, with no chance of transferring my funds to a different bank account, I even sent my sort code and account number.
So all in all I am £1400 out of pocket with no real explanation as to why my account was closed, they have left me feeling like I have done something wrong, and have caused me so much stress and anxiety when im meant to be recovering from my treatment.
Would never recommend this awful bank to anyone, and as for your customer service well im appalled at how I was treated, thank you for stealing my savings, in the times we live in do you think this is fair .

Avoid. I don't mind a bank blocking a transaction for security purposes, but when it is a (small amount) transfer to a known, previously used account in the same name, blocks your app so it can no longer be used, and support take 2 hours waiting before responding "We're looking into it, please stop asking us for updates" and close the conversation, that warrants a zero-star in my book. Avoid.
Update: a call to their help desk and copious messages sent, still blocked account after 5 hours! Disgusting
