Six years ago, I stepped into this gym as an 18-year-old slightly overweight individual and immediately felt at home. The trainers provided me with excellent guidance on both workouts and diet, enabling me to shed weight from 100kg to 81kg in just a few months. As I embarked on this journey, I discovered a passion for boxing, which has kept me returning multiple times a week ever since. The coaches have been instrumental in my evolution not only as a boxer but also as a person. I’ve participated in 29 matches for the gym, with the coaches generously dedicating their time for free to train and accompany me to competitions nationwide. The trainers and fellow boxers have become akin to family; they’re incredibly supportive, always ready to lend a hand. I am immensely grateful for their unwavering support over these past six years.

It’s was grate and I saw my family and I had drinks it was fun I would go again

I walked into this gym 6 years ago as a slightly chubby 18 year old and was made to feel welcome immediately. Through the training and nutrition advice I got from the coaches I was able to go from 100kg down to 81kg in a matter of months and during that time I also fell in love with the sport of boxing and have been going multiple times per week for the last 6 years. In that time the coaches have helped me develop massively as both a boxer and a person and I have had 29 bouts for the gym now with the coaches giving up their time for free to train me and to take me to fights all around the country. The coaches at this gym are some of the best people I have met in my life and they as well as the other boxers at the gym are like family to me now, they would all go out of their way to help you with anything as much as they can and I can’t thank them enough for everything they’ve done for me over the last 6 years.

Great gym spent a lot of time there like a family an the coaches are good people with alot of time for everyone who steps foot in there

I joined Jimmy Egans boxing academy over 43 years ago, I still hold dear all the values and principals that Jimmy taught me. We travelled across the country in a minibus and were welcomed as friends wherever we went. There are thousands of members of Wythenshawe and the wider areas who owe this club a debt of gratitude. It built our foundations as people and was to myself and many a safe haven where you we never judged but welcomed as part of the Jimmys squad. I cannot recomment Jimmy Egans enough, if you want to box, keep fit or become a part of the best community in the world please visit this club. I guarentee you will not regret it.
