Breach of Consumer Rights – Unauthorized Charges Proven via App Evidence
Jazz deducted Rs. 23.40 from my mobile balance over four days for Value-Added Services (VAS) including Gameloft and Deikho, without any explicit consent. I did not click on any pop-ups or subscribe to these services.
I have submitted direct evidence from the SIMOSA App showing these transactions, confirming no manual activation or request from my side. Jazz’s repeated denial and attempt to shift blame to the user reflects an evasion of responsibility and violates core consumer protection principles.
This not only breaches telecom transparency obligations under Pakistan Telecommunication laws, but also undermines customer trust.
I request a full refund, policy review, and PTA’s intervention to address such exploitative charges.

Why It's Time to #BoycottMobilinkJazz
Why It's Time to #BoycottMobilinkJazz: The Hidden Charges That Are Draining Your Balance
Mobilink Jazz, one of Pakistan’s leading telecom providers, has recently come under fire for its controversial and deceptive billing practices. Customers across the country are expressing frustration as they find themselves unknowingly subscribed to various services, leading to sudden balance deductions. With little to no explanation from customer support, many users feel as though they are being scammed by the company they once trusted.
How the Scam Works
Picture this scenario: You’ve just recharged your prepaid balance, excited to use your mobile data or make calls. However, within hours, your balance inexplicably drops, leaving you puzzled. A message arrives saying, “Welcome to Service XYZ. To unsubscribe, reply with UNSUB.”
Now, here’s the catch – you never signed up for this service! These automatic subscriptions are a common practice with Mobilink Jazz. Without your consent or knowledge, the company silently activates paid services that deduct from your balance. Whether it’s daily, weekly, or hidden charges for various content or value-added services, it seems like your balance is vanishing into thin air.
The Customer Support Runaround
When customers attempt to get to the bottom of this issue, they are met with frustrating responses. Often, when they contact customer service, they’re told they “activated the service themselves.” But how is this possible when no clear notification or consent was ever given?
This evasive, almost dismissive response from Mobilink Jazz’s support team only adds to the confusion and anger. Users feel as though their concerns are being brushed aside, and their hard-earned money is being taken without proper justification.
Why This Issue is More Than Just an Inconvenience
These unwanted charges are more than just a minor annoyance—they’re a breach of trust. For many customers, their prepaid balance is meant for essential services, and having it drained unexpectedly can leave them stranded. What’s worse, the company’s lack of transparency and refusal to accept responsibility for these hidden charges creates an environment of distrust.
For a service provider of Jazz’s stature to engage in such practices is not only unethical, it is damaging to the relationship they share with their customers. Consumers are no longer willing to sit idly by while their balances are silently depleted. They are demanding answers, and rightfully so.
How to Take Action
If you find yourself on the receiving end of unwanted service subscriptions, here’s what you can do:
Check your balance regularly – Keep an eye on your balance to ensure there are no surprise deductions.
Unsubscribe from services – As soon as you identify an unknown service, reply with UNSUB to stop further charges.
Spread the word – Share your experience with friends and family so they are aware of what’s going on. Raising awareness is key to putting pressure on the company.
File a formal complaint – If you continue to face unauthorized charges, file a formal complaint with PTA (Pakistan Telecommunication Authority) to hold Mobilink Jazz accountable.
The Need for Accountability
It’s clear that Mobilink Jazz must take immediate action to stop these deceptive practices. Whether it’s a lack of proper consent, transparency, or accountability, the company has left its customers in the dark. If this issue continues unchecked, the #BoycottMobilinkJazz movement will continue to gain momentum, as users look for more ethical alternatives.
Every consumer deserves to feel secure and confident when using their mobile service. No company should be allowed to profit from hidden charges that undermine customer trust.
It’s time to take a stand. #BoycottMobilinkJazz!

If I could give 0 that would still be generous. Intermittent and poor internet connection, complained via app 4 times, no communication and marked as resolved. Visited Jazz in Milan Channu and Chichawatni, rude unprofessional and abusive staff, who have no clue about customer service. Jazz should not be operating! They are robbing people by taking money and not providing the service.

After arriving in Pakistan Oct 24
After arriving in Pakistan Oct 24, I went to the Zong sim office in DHS 4 and discovered it had relocated, where 2 years earlier I had purchased a no nonsense sim for 30 days which served my purpose during my stay. I then decided to try the nearby Jazz office and requested a 15 day plan with either 10/15 gig Internet with a small provision for calls and sms. The office like most of Pakistan has non queuing system and unless you barge in and forcibly present your presence, you get ignored. Foreigners and attractive women will get immediate attention. Eventually I managed to get served multi-task fashion along with 2 others. I should have left the office after a woman came in to complain that her sim had failed after a week - it was a sign of things to come. There then followed a process akin to a Police arrest. Fingerprints scan, id card process terms of sim misuse etc. I will remind readers that this is for a purchase of a sim and not a major legal contract. The sales guy asks if I use WhatsApp and suggests a package for 700 rupees after I had pointed out the offer on display. Some 4 days later I have a loss of Internet and calls. After exhaustive investigation I discovered the package is limited to WhatsApp Internet use only, plus multiple other restrictions and times. I am required to add further money into my account for an additional nightmare of an add-on. Jazz has so many packages on offer that you need to hire a lawyer to understand them. Its a moving escalator of confusion. You are further bombarded with "Freebies" and made to watch an advert to receive a measly few mbs. Obviously the system is set up for a hard sell maximum profit, giving Jazz and its employees endless income opportunity on the unwary public. My advice is avoid Jazz.
They don’t deserve even 1 star
They don’t deserve even 1 star. They’re robbing poor people of Pakistan. I subscribed to their offer but not able to use internet. I complained them and they mark my issue resolved without calling or asking me. If you call them then they give you stupid reasons like govt activated jammers its not our fault. Jazz sucks worst of the worst CS.
