They took us for $9,000 and did nothing. They strung us along for almost 2 years saying the application was progressing. Now, they refuse to return documents they claim to have. They don't have a real address, business license or law license. Essentially, it's an internet ghost company and a mail box at a UPS Store in Richardson TX.

While I can't comment on the level of disruption that the Tajani decree has imposed on ICA and other agencies operating in this space, I can say that my own experience with ICA over the course of 5 long years and dealing with many of their staff was overwhelmingly positive.

I had the most complicated case that is possible for one to have as my eligible ancestor was born only 3 years after Italy incorporated as a country, but ICA still took me all the way from possible eligibility and concept in June of 2020 to Italian Citizenship and passport issuance in November of 2025.

There were many, many stages and I had a significant amount of legwork to complete on my own, but ICA was with me every step of the way with clear instructions, next steps, expertise, time and support.

The payment structure that they offered was flexible, and I understood that nothing was guaranteed from the beginning. I was willing to take the risk and possibly lose a significant sum of money if my paperwork was ultimately rejected by the courts or if some other reason kept me from completing the process. Luckily for me, this did not happen, but it's an important thing to keep in mind when attempting this type of venture. All of life is a gamble and this is no exception.

Again, I can imagine that the Tajani decree has left many customers in a very difficult state of limbo, but ICA can hardly be blamed for such an external event that was announced very suddenly. They are good people and it appears to me that they are still seeking possible remedies for these customers in the future. One never knows what may happen; laws change and they can change again.

The overall experience was long and not easy, but throughout ICA was a great partner - and yes I did get passports for myself and my family. We did the "in Italy" approach, which was a big adventure. We did bump into multiple issues along the way and many of them are impossible to predict in advance. ICA was a great partner the entire time, beyond helping to retrieve documents, they advised and went to bat for me multiple times both at the municipality where I lived and at some specific Italian Consulates in the USA that were very slow to engage. I really feel like I could not have done it without their help. I would recommend them to anyone looking to get Italian citizenship. I will also use them again in the future if the need ever arises again for my family. I honestly can't thank them enough.

Loved everything about ICA. I spent years trying to figure out if I had a legal case for citizenship. I turned over some birth certificates and they did the investigation. From the moment I committed to their service they made sure to keep me informed and kept the process moving as fast as possible. I loved working with Elena and the others and every time I reached out they promptly responded. It was about a 2 year process from start to finish (mine was a court case in L’Aquila) and if it weren’t for their expertise and professionalism I might not have won. But just to be fully transparent, this is not a company or service where you “buy” your citizenship. ICA cannot guaranteed citizenship. Only the Italian government decides, or a judge. When I signed up ICA fully disclosed this fact to me. What they do is a.) professionally assess your case to see if you’re a good candidate; b.) do alllll the paperwork for you; c.) argue your case in court if necessary; and, d.) make sure you have everything before, during and after, including you passport appointment, which was so worth every penny. And so, I HIGHLY RECOMMEND.

I would like to speak to my experience with ICA based on my "1948 case," grandfather being born before 1948 to a female ancestor, which required me to go through the Italian court system.

Unfortunately, I had a false start to gaining my Italian citizenship through a Facebook scammer. I had lost about $1000 and was very hesitant to start the process over again with someone else. After contacting ICA, I was able to obtain my Italian citizenship for myself and my two adult children. It was a long process, as expected, but it was organized and efficient. I have recommended ICA many times over.

From start to finish, excellent service. It’s a very complex process with a lot of bureaucracy with all the government bodies involved but ICA really takes the time to set expectations and was very responsive. Highly recommend.

On February 25, 2025, I entered into a service agreement with Italian Citizenship Assistance, Inc. for assistance obtaining Italian citizenship through jure sanguinis (by descent). I made final payment to ICA of over $5,800 on March 4, 2025. I was told I would meet with my case manager within 14-20 days.
The contract provided that ICA would assist me in gathering documents, preparing applications, and navigating the Italian citizenship process. At the time of contracting and payment, I was eligible for Italian citizenship under then-existing Italian law.

On March 27, 2025, I contacted ICA requesting information about who would serve as my case manager. Despite ICA’s promises to assign a case manager within 14-20 days of final payment, I never met with or received services from any case manager.
On March 28, 2025, the Italian government announced changes to its citizenship laws, rendering me ineligible for the citizenship services contracted for.

On March 30, 2025, upon learning of the law change and my resulting ineligibility, I immediately contacted ICA requesting a full refund of the $5,800+ payment, as no substantive work had been performed and the contracted services had become impossible to provide.
Despite my timely refund request made within two days of the law change announcement and despite no work having been performed by any case manager, ICA has refused to refund any portion of my payment and continued to retain the full payment. I scheduled a Zoom meeting with Marco Permunian - the earliest availability was August 13, 2025.

On August 13, 2025, I met with Marco Permunian via Zoom, and he promised that I would meet with a case manager that week. He insisted I might still be eligible, despite all evidence to the contrary. Since I had never met with a case manager, it’s not clear what his plan might be.

On August 22, 2025, I found that again, this was a lie. I still had not heard from anyone, had no case manager, and again requested a refund. They denied the refund, claiming that this time they really would provide service! I continued to ask for the refund over the next few weeks.

On October 6, 2025, ICA offered an insulting refund of 1,000 euros.

Stay away from this company.

Poor communication. They basically stole my money and never started on anything. I asked for updates and get nothing. This was before Italy changed the laws - now that the laws have changed, I am no longer eligible. And no refund.
