Wow!! What an EXTREMELY long and stressful process, but with NO fault of ICA!! I/ we started the process of my Italian/ Dual Citizen in December 2019, and then Covid happened a few short months later, putting a COMPLETE stop and/ or halt to ever really getting the process started... Then when that finally ended, Italy stated they were closing the "right of blood" citizenship-by-descent rules, which put even that much more stress on me... Are you kidding me!?!? But ICA did what they did, and/ or had already done with they had done over the years for me, and I'm beyond happy and PROUD to finally hold my Italian passport to the heavens! THANK YOU ICA!! Contacting Italian Citizenship Assistance was the BEST Choice I had made. I had Called Many different places that wanted to Charge Me Money just to tell Me Anything either way as well as travel to their Offices all around the country. One Company here in NYC I had Contacted I had went to a Meet & Greet and within 2 minutes of talking to the person, they said I did NOT Qualify. One of the people there had told Me that I actually Do and he just might not have wanted to go to Italy since this was a 1948 Case. I had again spoken with Italian Citizenship Assistance and asked Many Questions and they were Very Polite and had answered All of My Questions. I wanted All of My Family to join with Me for this Long Journey that I knew it would be and I was going to take Point handling eveything that I could. I did as much as I could along the way both before and after Committing to becoming a Client of Italian Citizenship Assistance. I had made some corect moves and these went well but some were 50/50 which I did correctly but corrections needed to be made which for some of this was money spent twice because of My Mistakes but Italian Citizenship Assistance had once I gave Everything to them, fixed/corrected the mistakes I made. Not ever knowing that ALL of My Vital Record Documents Needed to Match what was on My Birth Certificate is where I messed Up but this "Name Corrections" were handled by Italian Citizenship Assistance on My behalf. Asking a LOT of Questions I knew that this was going to be a LONG Journey to take from beginning to the end. My 3 other Family Members that joined with Me had from some issues with their Documents as well to no issues with some. We had All expected for the Court Date to be Novenber 2026 but that did not happen because it happened December 2025 and All 4 of Us were Officially Recognized as Italian Citizens since Our Birth Dates. I had went to the NYC Consulate on October 19, 2026 and handed in My Paperwork to the Italian Consulate and had about an hour after when I got there and waited, had went Home with My Italian Passport in hand. I have also been trying to schedule for a few weeks for this as well for the Italian Electronic ID Card (CIE) and just as of last evening October 20, 2026 was finally able to get it Scheduled for November 18, 2026 for Me to go back to the Italian Consulate and hand in My paperwork which will be Started being Processed in the NYC Italian Consulate and then it will be Procedded in Italy and then the Electronic ID Card (CIE) will be Mailed to Me from Italy. This will Complete My Italian Documents for Myself which has been a Childhood Dream of Mine that will come to be made complete and Dear to My Heart and Soul. Fortunately, I had done much of the gathering of ancestral documentation in advance of engaging ICA for the firm’s services.

The process requires time, money, and patience. My family’s timeline was as follows. Signed service agreement on May 13, 2022, informed of Italian citizenship on May 14, 2024, and obtained Italy passports on November 6, 2025, February 17, 2026, and June 8, 2026.

There were periods where there were gaps in communication which I suppose can be improved. But all in all a favorable experience with a positive outcome. Our journey is complete and my family is more closely connected to our ancestors and ancestral homeland.

I would just like to echo the praise for ICA. I found them through their YouTube channel where Marco Permunian outlined step-by-step the process of claiming Italian Citizenship. I can understand some posters concerns. It can be a frustrating process, especially when the goal posts keep moving. But I feel that is through no fault of ICA. Best of luck to all who are seeking citizenship. I highly recommend ICA.

The process of establishing my Italian citizenship was long, complicated, and sometimes frustrating. ICA helped every step of the way, in all the ways they could. They can't, of course, get rid of Italian bureaucracy (which is very, very real) and changes to Italian law. What they can do is help explain what is going on, how long it is likely to take, and help shepherd through the process.

As an American who does not speak Italian, I never would have been able to get this done without the help of ICA and their A-Z full package. I’ve heard some complaints about them being a little slow but honestly I’d rather it take longer to receive the citizenship and have it done PROPERLY than pay a couple bucks less to someone who will file it incorrectly who is in a rush and risk getting rejected. At the end of the day, I was able to receive my citizenship with ICA! I 100% recommend them!

My family tried to work with ICA to obtain citizenship for a group of family members. It could not have been a more frustrating and demoralizing experience. They delayed and tacked on more fees with every step in the process and answered my questions vaguely and also took weeks to answer basic emails. Even when there were long wait times (months) with filling or processing paperwork they did not provide updates or keep in contact to explain what was going on and to be expected. Truly a nightmare and we had to forfeit the initial payment and pay many fees which they said were due to "extra" work on their part, never itemizing, getting authorization for, or explaining what they were doing. Getting the documents back that we sent them was so frustrating. Took them months and of course they tacked on hundreds in fees to do so. Would not recommend.
