Non existent customer service
Someone giving my address who I have never heard of. Sent off an form from their website but no acknowledgement that they received it now got a final demand from them which again I have had to respond to advising them of what I have previously.
Not holding my breath they will respond so I guess will see them in court.
Have an £80 fine to pay for a CHILD who…
Have an £80 fine to pay for a CHILD who is eligible for free travel, one that has been diagnosed with mental health problems. He had shown his child pass to the bus driver and he had let him on the bus on the way back home, inspector checked his card and said it was disabled and not working . He had accidentally taken his wrong bus pass as it was reported lost. This is unfair , IRCAS did not even respond to my appeal and now say it’s too late. They should have at least checked the bus camera as my son had shown his bus pass! Worst thing is they delayed my appeal for 3 years and did not even consider my appeal and gave the excuse that appellant did not respond so they rejected for that reason which is unfair as no letter was sent to me after I appealed only to say debt had increased to £80.
Kids giving false details
I keep receiving fines for my son who has a valid ticket. Another kid from his school constantly does not pay and gives my sons details so I have the inconvenience of proving it. IRCAS make it very difficult to find out how to appeal as the letter already assumes guilt. Ticket Inspectors should wear cam belts so they can see repeat offenders. What they are doing atm is just wasting money and my time.
I tapped in at Tottenham and when came…
I tapped in at Tottenham amd when came out at Stansted realised you needed a ticket, so the guy charged me a ridiculous fair and his card machine broke whilst fixing my card so he took a part cash payment off me and took a pic of my liscence, I forgot about the whole thing and suddenly received a letter saying 'this is you final reminder and charging £98 because I had 'ignored their reminders i never received and when I emailed them because it cost to phone they said there is nothing we can do cause I missed the deadline to appeal upon which I had no clue that I could
Absolutely Horrible
Absolutely Horrible. I had a £20 fine for forgetting a ticket I had paid for (it was in my wallet at home) I accepted the fine for my forgetfulness. I later then appealed, the appeal took 3 weeks top get a response from. A week after I appealed (2 weeks before a response) I tried paying the £20 off because I was getting nervous. Due to the appeal, a payment wasn't accepted. I then waited for an appeal response (which was rejected) so went straight to paying. By this point the fine had increased to £55 via and "Administration fee". The company is criminal, why do I have to suffer an admin fee for them taking the timeline of the fine to reply.
Avoid them at all costs, they are legal criminals with hugely unjust reasoning and fee prices.
IRCAS FINE
9th September tapped in at Tottenham Hale in a rush travelling to London stansted airport on the train to go away. On arrival at London stansted got told I couldn’t tap out because it doesn’t work there (okay honest mistake) & id have to buy a ticket so I agreed. Was also told by the rude guy at the ticket gate that I’d have to pay another £19 which I could get sent as a fine in the post so I give him my details & was planning on appealing it.
Now the letters just arrived today & I’ve apparently missed the 21 day appeal period & even more disgustingly the fine I’ve been presented with is £54. Terrible company can’t get through to anyone everything’s automated no email address for contacting. What can I do? I do not want to pay this. Reference for my fare notice is GA2362759

Absoloutely robbing *arstards
Absoloutely robbing *arstards! This company needs shutting down!! I don't know how on earth this robbing company is allowed to open its doors!! I took a train from Tottenhale to Standstead using my contactless bank card. It wa sonly when I got to the other end that I was told that this was not allowed. Absoloputley disgusting!! There needs to be much clearer warnings informing customers that you are not allowed to use contactless!!! Not only did I have to pay the fare on my card when I came out but I was charged £88.50! I will be taking this to my local MP, as this robbing thieving company should not prey on genuine customers such as ourselves!

Shabby outfit
Shabby outfit. Got given the wrong ticket from Kings Cross to Hertford East by station attendant. Accept accidents happen but when I explained this was immediately given penalty fine - made to make it was totally my fault. Been in and out of London for work for 20 years and never had this. Nothing but a money making scheme. I appealed but to no avail. Looking at comments below, sadly all I can suggest is take it on the chin and pay quickly before they increase the penalty fare.
I feel sorry for the people whose lives…
I feel sorry for the people whose lives have gone so badly wrong that they have ended up working for this disgusting, money-grabbing company. It must be a sad existence spending all day cheating innocent people out of extortionate sums of money. That being said all customer service people I have dealt with in my (many) correspondences with IRCAS (adding even more expense to the totally ludicrous fine I was given for misplacing my £8 ticket on a Greater Anglia train) have been complete and utter imbeciles.
This is a very wicked company AS & IRCAS
I was told by law I had to pay £21.40…
I was told by law I had to pay £21.40 per month for a fine I still dispute. When I asked for them to send me the legislation set out by the government. I was ignored. What they are alleging in their emails us fiction not fact.
Delayed my dispute for 2 months
Delayed my dispute for 2 months, then sent an automated email that wasn't even relevant to my dispute.
My dispute was that the fine was wrong, not only did it have the WRONG NAME on the fine AND emails, the issue reason was about carrying my season ticket, which I have never owned, nor claimed to own. But this is "my fault" for not bringing it?
Confused, annoyed, and had to wait 2 months for an AUTOMATED RESPONSE.
This company is awful, and has its ties, being owned by the same people as many rail companies. "Independent" isn't true when owned by the same people as the ones who 'subcontract' them.
Worst company ever
Worst company ever. I paid for the bus by my smart watch. The buy told me is not paid Hi made me pay 40 pounds by cash and 40 by card. That is insane. I have prof of tflcontacles i paid for the bus.
What a bunch of licenced cowboy…
What a bunch of licenced cowboy highwaymen !!!! I have never in my 58 year on this planet had such dealings with such an atrocious bunch of TOTAL MORONS!! But the thing that really gets me, other than NOT dealing with correspondence and NOT adhering to their own (probably illegal) very badly set out and written rules and regulations and appeals systems is that if you want to try to talk to the b*stards it'll cost you 5 pence, 10 pence 13 pence per minute via premium rate numbers ! How the hell these sods are still operating I do NOT know, but hang on a minute, yes I do, it's because they MAKE UP wholly ridiculous penalty sums which keep escalating (whilst you are corresponding with them and trying to get them to see sense!) and which are not set out anywhere in their correspondence nor as far as I can see, their website and are therefore "self funding" their own activities by 1, making up the initial penalty figure, 2, making up another number (whilst trying to communicate with them) 3, doing more of the same until whatever figure they originally "made up" becomes £90 and then they threaten what they call a "notice of intended prosecution" which it is NOT, it is a phrase they have cribbed from criminal proceedings as failing to pay a penalty fare (whilst still corresponding with them after they failed to deal with their own appeal protocols) IS A CIVIL matter and therefore the "THREAT" should state a notice of intention to issue (CIVIL) court proceedings. I real;y do feel sorry for ALL the poor members of the public who have had to deal with these people at AS and IRCAS.
This process is absolutely shambolical.
This process is absolutely shambolical.
Paying customer forgot pass.
Initial £27 pound fine suspended.
Provided evidence, but apparently not in time ( no where was this made clear) so charged new fine of £62 pounds.
Complaint letter immediately written and duly ignored by company.
New letter stating fine is now £96.
Over an hour of phone correspondence later (with 2 different consultants - first has failed to document ANYTHING) and I've had to pay fine with promise of future recompense.
It is also not clear why Anglia has nothing to do with payments and the payments service is subcontracted out. Feels like costs are inflated as two separate companies are trying to profit off as single customer service/fine. To that end, this review encompasses both IRCAS and Greater Anglia.
I pay £385/month for a service that is not only distinctly sub par but aims to rip customers off at every opportunity. Neither company is there to serve the customer.
SCAMMERS
SCAMMERS. NEEDS TO BE SHUTDOWN
RECEIVED LETTER STATING PROVIDED INCORRECT INFORMATION.TO THE TRAIN OPERATING OFFICER WHEN QUESTIONED. £80 FINE. NEVER BEEN ON TRAINER NEVER QUESTIONED BY ANYONE. SHUT THEESE SCAMMERS DOWN. I WILL TAKE ACTION
Worst company ever.
