ZERO stars — this service is unsafe, unreliable, and genuinely dangerous.
I started using iPill three months ago and I wish I had never gone near them. I’m diabetic and sometimes struggle with standard tablet packaging, so I thought this service would help. Instead, it has repeatedly put my health at risk.
Before my first prescription was even sent, they emailed me to “clarify” the dosage of methocarbamol — a medication taken four times a day and therefore included in every pouch. At that point, I sent them a full, clear list of every medication I take and exactly when I take it. They had all the information they needed.
Prescription 1:
I was left without essential medication for three days. When it finally arrived, the pouches were completely wrong:
Metformin (evening medication) placed in the morning pouch
Sitagliptin (night‑time medication) placed in the morning pouch
Atorvastatin (night‑time medication) also placed incorrectly
I emailed immediately and explained everything again.
Prescription 2:
Arrived on time — but nothing had been corrected. They continued dispensing against the timings clearly stated on my GP’s prescription.
I emailed again and was told it “wouldn’t happen again.”
Current situation:
I’m now waiting for my third prescription. It’s been almost two weeks, I’m out of medication again, and they are ignoring every email I send.
This company shows zero regard for patient safety, zero accountability, and zero professionalism. And judging by the number of similar reviews, this isn’t a one‑off mistake — it’s a pattern.
I will be reporting this to the General Pharmaceutical Council.
Great service
I chose this company after my local pharmacy began charging £20 a month just to prepare my medication in a dosette box. I have a complex medical history and rely on my pills being carefully organised, as I can sometimes forget to take them.
At first, I was quite nervous about trusting a company I didn’t know, especially one based in a different county. It felt a bit daunting not being able to simply pop in if there were any issues. However, I quickly realised I had nothing to worry about.
From my very first prescription, they took over everything seamlessly. I’m now in my third month with them, and I’ve never had to wait for medication due to stock issues. Everything arrives in good time, well before I run out. The packaging is also compact and easy to store, which is a big plus. It’s especially helpful for travelling, as each pouch clearly states the medications inside, along with my name and the correct date and time they should be taken.
I’ve been so impressed with the service that I’ve now arranged for my mum to use it as well, and they organised her delivery within two weeks.
I would also like to mention that whenever I called during the first month, my queries were always answered promptly and professionally.
Overall, I’ve had a very reassuring and positive experience and would happily recommend this service.
Excellent service!
I changed to iPill from a competitor pouching service 2 months ago and all I can say is what a fantastic service I received from them. They reply promptly to emails, and are always professional, polite and knowledgeable. The deliveries have arrived on time and perfectly correct. Long may it continue!
Terrible service
Terrible service. I switched to this pharmacy on the promise they would manage the repeat prescription automatically. After waiting over three weeks for my medication, I called them to discover that as I don’t require 5 or more medicines, they won’t dispense. No communication, nothing on their website to indicate any such limit.
I had to take time off work to collect my medicine from a local, reliable, pharmacy.
Don't even think about using iPill
iPill claim to make it easier to manage multiple medications by putting your prescribed tablets in pouches. In my case, four pouches per day.
They make mistakes when putting tablets into the pouches. Its a bit of "pot luck" approach.
If you don't mind tablets being put in the wrong pouches, and trying to explain the problem(s) to staff who have very poor English language skills, iPill is definitely for you.
Midway through my first lot of medication, I realised that iPill were not going to change, so I switched to PillTime.
This is when I realised that I was in the Hotel California.. iPill took over my supply of medication again and it took several e-mails, phone calls and warnings before I finally checked out...
PillTime are the complete opposite, have their own smartphone app for ordering and tracking. You also receive an onboarding call, and always receive a reply to emails. PillTime also have a WhatsApp number. Unlike iPill, PillTime provide order progress information via their app which is very reassuring.
PillTime explained that one of my daily tablets can never be put into a pouch with other tablets and can only ever be supplied in it's original boxes due to it's active ingredient.
iPill had put that tablet into pouches with other tablets...
Please DO NOT USE iPill. They are dangerous and should not be licensed to handle NHS prescriptions.
If Trust Pilot allowed a zero, or a negative rating, I would have given iPill a minus rating.
Perfectly pouched meds
After reading the reviews, I'm shocked! I was with pilltime who, on a number of occasions left me without medication. I wanted pouched meds and found ipill. They literally got my medication out to me within 3 days! I cannot fault them!
Left me without meditation that I have…
Left me without meditation that I have to take i would be serious ill without them hard to get on the phone and didn't care they did this stay way from this company I could not give a non star I wish I had read up on this company before had
I wish I had visited Trustpilot before…
I wish I had visited Trustpilot before getting involved with iPill aka Spatetree Pharmacy.
They simply ignore calls and emails from customers and send out prescription items that they have been repeatedly asked not to send, and they send an amount that no person could actually get through in a month.
And having been removed as my prescribing pharmacy on the NHS app, they add themselves back in and try and intercept a prescription that was to be collected from my local high street pharmacy.
I would avoid this outfit at all costs.
This is only my second.delivery if I get it
This is only my second.delivery. my first was 2 weeks late. I had to ring to get it. I was promised that now it is all up and running I would have it on time. Yet again I have no meds at all. I have chronic asthma. Copd. Heart failure amongst other illnesses.
Really unhappy customer
Have tryed and tried to email Ipill with no joy at all why have a email address for if you don't get back to me, stuff missing again this month, so this time i will have to leave you, not to be trusted with prescription sort it or i am leaving
Another unhappy customer
Another unhappy customer. Wait times on the phone are ridiculous and forget about getting an answer to an email. They just aren't set up fit this.
The worst company to deal with
The worst company to deal with. Poor and confusing communication. Getting instructions wrong. Waiting long times for medication and can't dispense more than a month at a time so you easily run out when going in holiday
Not trusting my health to Ipill.
I have just received my first order, my tablets appear to be randomly placed in the pouches and not in the optimum order. E.g Ramipril in the morning when it is a night time medication for optimum performance. Metformin at Bedtime when it should be taken with food. Diuretics in the same pouch as anti urination tablets. There is no online portal to request the correct order and I waited 40 minutes on the phone with no answer. A look at Google street view shows them to be a regular high street chemist shop with clearly no capacity to deal with so many orders. Also the dates printed on the pouches showing when to take are out of sequence as Royal Mail delivered 3 days ofter postage. I am switching away to a local delivery chemist instead.
I started with Ipill
I started with Ipill when my other phamacy went but without telling me. I caontacted Ipill and they said they needed 2 weeks to setup my account. I told them I had no pills and they got my prescription out in just over a week. First couple of months were a bit flaky. Been great just recently pill turn up in time and complete. What more do you want
Waist of time
Waist of time, never answer the phone or reply to your wmails. Tried calling today but gave up after 29 minutes
One star is far too generous!!!!!!!
One star is far too generous for this poor performing company!
Set up an account as a new customer with absolutely no correspondence stating the account was active. The GP was contacted stating that the gentleman who the medication was for had moved to London from Derbyshire which he had not. They confirmed receipt of the prescription on the 1st November stating that is was being allocated to a pharmacy. Chased again on the 13th to state that it would be with us by the end of the week. NOTHING! Had to get an emergency prescription from GP to see him through. Chased again on the 6th December and promised delivery today. Received a call from them saying that they are unable to process the prescription as it was only for a week not a month.
Constant lies from them once you finally manage to get through on the telephone, online chat - DON'T BOTHER! Email reply was just one sentence that made no sense.
It has taken two prescriptions sent to them and phone calls to be told that they can't provide the service. How they are still in business is beyond me.
Had enough, no idea what to do
I have been waiting on medication since the 17th November, I have now run out. The medication I am on cannot just be stopped, my doctor will not do another prescription because the pharmacy has it. I cannot get through at all by any means, I have tried live message (does not work), Facebook, email and the phone no answer on any. I have now taken it to the GPHC as they have a duty of care which is not been adhered to.
Unfortunately I have had to report this…
Unfortunately I have had to report this company to The General Pharmaceutical Council (GPhC) because they refuse to follow NHS guidelines for the completion of Electronic Prescription Service (EPS).
THEY FAIL TO NOTIFY YOU WHEN THEY SET YOUR NOMINATED PHARMACY TO THEMSELVES AND ORDER YOUR PRESCRIPTIONS WITHOUT YOUR PERMISSION.
AVOID!
What’s the point? 3 months running my tablets have turned up in boxes. they don’t answer the phone. AVOID
Dreadful!
Where to start? I have yet had a repeat prescription supplied in its entirety. The pouching is a nightmare with many unnecessarily containing only one capsule, and the pouches are impossible to both read and open. Their communications are non existent. I have found them to be a total nightmare and have returned to my previous Manchester based pharmacy for better and more sensible pouching and infinitely better service.
