International living has some great information on places you have never traveled. Much of the information tends to be redundant if you are a longtime member. IMHO-RETA offers very little to the average person. I did everything Ronan said-due diligence-lawyers-inspections-etc. His "vetted" developers are suspect. Stupidly-I bought thru one of his deals. It is a nightmare with sewage and electrical issues. Now the developer says this "No, the have not refuse to fill the pool. They simply do no have the funds yest to refill it." Really, this is supposedly one of Ronan's handpicked developers. He knew 2 years ago and has not come even to visit. This is not one of the only developments suggested by RETA with issues. RETA -IMHO-is not a membership real estate club but provides misleading facts and information. The areas are good that he picks for consideration but with hind sight I would never do a RETA deal again. There are many videos-business retirement reports and international teal estate reports to use for free. If buying internationally buy something already built with a track record of no major issues. I am over 35,000 USD in the red on my "great RETA deal".

Zero stars. I joined expecting useful retirement and expat information, but almost everything has been an attempt to upsell me to more products and expensive add-ons. The subscription itself provides far less value than I expected, and I'm constantly being encouraged to buy additional reports, courses, or memberships. It feels more like a sales funnel than a service focused on helping subscribers.

If you are not already an international traveller, International Living provides invaluable information on potential places around the globe where North Americans may want to seek out as places to visit or emigrate to. Whether it be a country-specific conference, or a "boot-camp" conference that covers multiple countries or regions, one can make connections in person with subject-matter experts who can provide both the pros and cons of an area. Their conferences are well-run and packed with information that can be accessed post-conference as well.

They were ok five years ago or so when I started considering living abroad, but even then I found the long emails leading to nothing but something MORE to buy - irritating - along with being disappointing. They are so stuck in the past with their "used car salesmen approach" it is embarrassing that they are from the US.
Don't bother opening their emails, much less pay for anything, as I stupidly did five years ago. You get NOTHING at the end of the loooooong diatribe except more pitches.

Don’t waste your money. The magazine does not contain very much useful information and you will be inundated with emails wanting you to sign up for $300 and $600 seminars. If you do the research on your own you will find they are very misleading. For example, recent emails have been extolling a “new long term visa” for the UK. All it was was the new ETIAS everyone has to get. Still a 6 month limit on your stay. And it’s not a visa.

I fell for their slick appeal to find secrets to make travel less expensive. We paid for their rag for 2 years and never learned any of the secrets they alluded to in their ads. Now they claim to have a book, but you can only buy it if you subscribe to their magazine.

If you click opt out of their daily emails and switch to weekly emails you will increase the daily emails! If you try again, the emails will increase again! If you opt out entirely and click 'unsubscribe', well you can guess what happens next.

but overall treatment of customers is poor.

I am a 7+ year customer and signed up for lifetime membership specifically for their monthly mailed magazine--then shortly thereafter they eliminated monthly paper magazine (I wrote and complained but of course nothing changed.). It was clearly bait and switch.

Now they are rising my "annual maintenance fee" to $49--that is the cost of new subscription. for only electronic delivery. haha on me.

I feel ripped off.

I just tried to wade through their website to cancel my membership and it is very difficult to navigate-get blank screen! So you can't--you must call them. (I don't live in U.S.!). UPDATE: THEY SEND FOLLOWUP EMAIL WHERE I COULD SEND THEM A NOTE.

This business is very good at irritating their customers. THAT IS NOT HOW YOU RUN A SUCCESSFUL BUSINESS!

I was long time subscriber, enough so to sign up for a Lifetime Membership paying over $150. Then, without notice or communication, they cancelled my membership!! After contacting them, their very rude customer service agent told me it had to do with “account maintenance” lapsed bank fees that were never paid and which I knew nothing about (??). She then absolutely refused to find a solution and told me there was “nothing they could do.” I then asked to speak to a supervisor and the agent promised someone would call be back “within the hour.” Of course, no one ever called back.

I TRULEY BELIEVE INTERNATIONAL LIVING IS A SCAM. THEY OFFER YOU A LIFETIME MEMBERSHIP, CHARE YOU BIG MOENY THEN FIND A WAY TO VOID WITHOUT ANY FORM OF RESOLUTION. I HAVE LOST ALL FAITH IN THIS ORGANIZATION AND URGE OTHERS NOT TO TRUST OR, AT THE VERY LEAST, DO SIGN UP FOR ANYTHING OTHER THAN FOR A VERY BAISIC SUBSCRIPTION!

I ordered the Magazine. Not one opened. The only thing that opened were sales pitches. There is no contact information to cancel. ONLY sales pitch phone number.

Stay FAR AWAY from their RETA program. They leave you hanging when there are developer issues and you are grasping for assistance on resolutions leaving you to tackle issues in a foreign country alone.

If I could give a zero I would. It's a scam! I fell for their sales pitch after a webinar, and paid $79 for a subscription. They said multiple times there was a money back guarantee if you weren't satisfied. I can log in, but I can't access any of the online articles; the website keeps asking me to log in again. I've contact them FOUR times, and all I get is an automated email telling me how to log in. I've followed all their directions and tried some of my own (deleting cookies), but I still can't access any articles. I get multiple emails daily, all trying to upsell and get me to subscribe to even more. BUYER BEWARE, THIS WHOLE THING IS A SCAM! I have reported them to the BBB, and will be contacting my credit card company to disputed the charge.

Save your money and pass. Since they've gone digital, quality has plummeted.

The subscription offered additional information that was free with the purchase. After payment confirmation, I had a response that I could spend an additional $495 to receive the content I was supposed to receive. Very deceptive practices and I immediately cancelled.

It was a very interesting 5 hours. Very easy to follow, and a guest speaker, Keith Jacobson, was great.

The conference sessions were very interesting even regarding subjects I didn’t come to learn about. It was well-organized from beginning to end, and I met lots of terrific people. The reason for only four stars is that my European country of interest, Portugal, only received a 10 minute session, as did the other countries. A lot of the conference seemed catered to investors. In addition, the information booths were mainly for countries in Central America. I don’t recall seeing one booth for a European country. Nevertheless, a good time was had and I learned a lot.

Some good content but too much upsell. I have been to two boot camps and did buy into the Explorer program. The value for money was lacking overall. The sales of special newsletters on Crypto and gold reeks of problems.
