Kieron at Ignite Recruitment is the best recruiter in China. He’s the only one who has both phoned me and met me face to face to do a detailed needs analysis and figure out exactly who I am, what I want, and how to best help me.
He takes a long-term view, and gives detailed career advice to help me manage my career so that I end up in the best job long-term. No other recruiter in China has ever done this, and not even close. Some recruiters have even refused a quick call because they’re “too busy”. Not Kieron.
Kieron’s approach shows care and a smart business sense, because placing someone immediately in a job that isn’t necessarily in their long-term best interests (like most recruiters do) is bad business. Being patient and placing teachers somewhere that actually suits them means his company can maintain a relationship with the teacher for life.
He knows the Chinese education system in incredibly granular detail and also advises on likely future trends based on sociological and political trends.
At no stage did Kieron put any pressure on me to take a specific job (a LOT of recruiters apply pressure so they can earn their commission asap).
He often talks about the job after my next job, and even 5 years down the line, which demonstrates an obvious care for my long-term career.
He’s really friendly and approachable, and I will definitely be seeking his help again in the future, should I need to change jobs again.

I had to chase the recruiter a little bit at the start of the process, however once he found a couple of leads (which are high quality, professional and reputable international schools here in Beijing), things progressed very smoothly. At the end I chose a position that he found for me, even though making the choice was very hard. Both schools were that good. I will be recommending them to some of my colleagues who are also in the educational sector.

My location shows Taiwan? That's because I am using a VPN to write this review otherwise I couldn't do it. I am already based in Beijing.
