TERRIBLE ONLINE SERVICE as website crashed during placing my order and never confirmed whether my order was accepted or not. This resulted in me paying £38 for two sets of the same food just because of the HH website issues... so almost £20 worth of food went to the bin and money also wasted!

TERRIBLE CUSTOMER SERVICE as called them to inform about the issue and the man who i was on the phone to kept interrupting me and i was forced to ask him to stop interrupting while I’m in the middle of my sentence then he replied “Okay go on then”- who hired you for a customer service position when you sound like a snob who has no understanding for others when they experience issues caused by the company you work for?? After repeatedly having to stop myself from speaking as this man kept interrupting me, i have explained my problem to him and kept pressuring that the issue was caused by their website as it kept crashing, he kept repeating himself saying there is nothing they can do about it.

Literally never ordering through this company again as i wasted £20 pounds and threw lots of unnecessary food to the bin just because their website decided to crash and present me with a blank red screen whilst placing my order and the customer service man had no understanding or empathy whatsoever and was extra rude like no one i ever spoke to, especially that i hate people interrupting me and find it very disrespectful . When ordering through Just-Eat i never experience any issues, never experienced their website crashing and i always get my confirmation texts and emails so will be using this from now on.

Hope they see this and re-analyse my case and realise what kind of people work for their company who are supposed to be helping the customers. I can dream about getting my money back as well. 👋🏻

+ Need to find a way of contacting the head offices because i’m not the type of person to be losing any amount of money because of someone else’s mistake.

Will be sending a complaint letter to the head offices in London.

wouldn’t bother not helpful

Wasn’t helpful when I had a complaint with my food and restaurant wouldn’t help either. Then I was told I couldn’t leave a review because I checked out as a guest.

I'm sorry to hear that our response to your complaint was not satisfactory and that you need to contact us regarding your order.

What exactly was the issue you experienced? I would like to take a closer look at what happened, and if possible find a better resolution for you. If you send your order ID and some more information about what the issue was to socialmedia@hungryhouse.co.uk, I can follow up on this issue.

We have certain parameters in place in order to prevent fraudulent reviews being placed - it is reviews that effect the ranking of restaurants and act as a signpost to customers of the service to expect from our partners. This is why we protect the integrity of our reviewing system.

If, as in this case, a customer does not meet the requirements for leaving a review we have a back up. By reporting an issue to us we log it in the system on the restaurant's account - this impacts the ranking algorithm meaning the restaurant will move up or down accordingly. We then also have a dedicated restaurant operations team who monitor the performance of restaurants based on this information.

Once I hear back from you I will ensure the information you give is properly logged and given to the relevant department to following up internally.

Used it for the tracability if things go wrong, there was no bloody point when they insist on taking the restaurant's side, even when the wording of their menu implies something different to what they actually sell. will just order directly and chance it in the future

Don’t bother with hungryhouse, order directly

Ordering through hungryhouse rather than the restaurant directly resulted in over 1 hour 40 minute wait time (at the time of writing still no delivery). Previously when ordering directly the average wait was 30-40 minutes. Won’t be ordering through hungryhouse again.

While we work closely with restaurants to ensure they are able to deliver the service expected from a hungryhouse partner, it is ultimately their responsibility to get the order to the customer at the time they give to us. Sometimes there may be hiccoughs in the restaurant that slow the order down, so we act as a communicator and will pass any information on to the customer if the restaurant are able to notify us of that.

I would like to take a better look at this case to ensure that we are supporting this restaurant in the best way and also to see if there is any form of compensation that I can deliver to you for this below-par service you received. refused a 45 minute late delivery where …

refused a 45 minute late delivery where the food was cold but trying to get a refund from hungry horse is impossible. Luckily I paid with paypal and have had to request a refund from them which will still take about a month.
The moral of this story is - you order you pay but tuff if there is a problem don't expect a refund without a massive fight
I've deleted the H.H. app from my phone as I wont use them again but will use their competitor JUST EAT instead.

I'm sorry about the confusion in the processing of your refund for the order you rejected!

In cases such as these we normally refund immediately but as the first contact I can find in our system about the issue was your PayPal dispute, there obviously was a slight delay here.

We try to resolve cases so that we do not have to do things via PayPal, hence we will not initially reply to the dispute and try clear things up with the restaurant. I can see that my colleague, however, immediately refunded you the value of the order because of this issue.

I can see in the payment system that the refund left hungryhouse on the 9th December, the same day we received the dispute - it should be back in your account by now so please let me know if that has not happened.

After receiving a very unpleasant dish …

After receiving a very unpleasant dish from a restaurant I called them to complain and had the phone put down on me! So I tried to speak to hungry house themselves and waited on " live chat " for over an hour, 20mins of that time I was being told I was 1st in the queue. I had no luck calling them either! Not happy!

Don't Trust These Guys With Your Data

Had a fraudulent credit card payment taken through HH having not placed an order in a couple of years. Didn't know whether this was from my account or just someone else using my details. It's quite possible that none of this was HH's fault.

Tried to log in straight away and found that someone else got there first and changed the account email address which answered the question of how someone else got my payment info. Cancelled the card and then tried to contact HH to find out what info might have been stolen (other cards, id info etc.) They don't post proper contact details on their website so had to fill in a form on their page.

Got roundly ignored so instead of getting access to my account back and having a quick chat about their security procedures I've now had to cancel every credit card me and my partner have (since I can't remember what was linked to the account and can't log in to check) I also got to spend my Friday evening trawling two years of bank statements. I've now got to go through the hassle of sending them an SAR to find out what info might have been lost and then report them to the ICO just to try and find out how they handle data.

The daft thing is this should have been a ten minute conversation and I'm surprised that doing things this way seems to be their preferred outcome. Thanks for wasting my time guys!

TLDR: HH failed to respond rapidly to credit card fraud through their platform and a possible data breach (which may or may not have been their fault). Caused me a butt-tonne of work.

TAJ MAHAL CASTLEFORD

TAJ MAHAL in Castleford was so terible ! Ive ordered a offer for £8 and they charged me for every thing separate , than delivery driver didnt even have change for me so i payed £11. I have called them , hoped they will solve this problem but all they said was I didnt say anything about the offer which is obviously a lie. I wasnt happy with food aswell as there was only a couple of fries and the chicken and pizza didnt taste good so worst £11 i have EVER spent !

Sorry to hear that there was some confusion on an offer that you had wanted with hungryhouse. I can't seem to find any orders in Taj Mahal's account in our system that have your name associated with them.

I can see that some of the offers in their meal deal section are '2 pizza's for £9.50' so you may not have selected that meal deal but instead just the 2 pizzas, hence the offer was not selected on your order. As the order was cash I cannot refund the difference myself but would need to negotiate with the restaurant to sort out that compensation for you.

As I at the moment cannot find your order, would you be able to email me on socialmedia@hungryhouse.co.uk to let me know what information I can find your order with? The order ID and email address on the account should be sufficient to further investigate.

Disgraceful service from Mama Mia and Hungry House

After a disgusting kebab delivered from Mama Mia Selly Oak booked through Hungry House, and having had no success with the restaurant, I contacted Hungry House. They contacted the manager but he refused to refund. I then queried why I couldn't leave a review. Get this! It turns out you cant leave a review if you paid in cash under a certain amount. Also Hungry House did not respond to my complaint in 48 hours as promised. Four calls in and HH say they cannot offer anything all I can do is report restaurant to Trading Standards. I'm now more angry with HH who are denying customers their rights to review. This restaurant deserves to be shut down and don't use HH they are worse than useless#

I've been trying to get hold of you on the phone number provided but there's no answer so I left a message. Thanks for getting in touch with your order information, I've now read through all your case notes. I can tell from your email that this has understandably caused a lot of frustration, for which I apologise.

I just spoke to a member of staff at Mamma Mia Pizza and also tried to call the manager without success - I left a message explaining why I was calling and requesting that he give us a call back if he can offer any further assistance.

As the order was paid in cash I cannot process any partial or full refund on the order as the funds never came through hungryhouse. Even if the order was paid for online I still cannot process a refund without their approval. This is why I was trying to speak to them to see what could be done.

The other thing you write about is the inability to leave a review of your experience. This is not at all discrimination against our cash customers, there are just certain limits in place to protect the integrity of our review system.

I've just emailed you with more information on this and how the limits work. I've also explained other ways we monitor and take on board feedback, such as the rankings onsite and our Restaurant Operations team.

I hope I've been able to reassure you that your feedback is really valued and that we've done everything possible to find a resolution for your query.

What exactly with the salad was inedible? It seems that we may not have been able to take action in this case as it is the restaurant's responsibility to deliver adequate food. However, we always try and find a resolution with the customer and restaurant rather than passing them directly to the FSA.

I'd like to follow up on this case - not just to try find a better resolution, but also to follow up on why the complaint was not dealt with properly by my colleague. Poor customer service

Really bad service from hungry house, will not be using them again. Ordered a takeaway last night and was told it wouldn't take 50 mins to arrive which seemed quite long, but acceptable. Food arrived 25 mins after the estimated time and was cold, which implies it was ready long before it was delivered to me. I live about a 3 minute drive from the restaurant. Complained to hungry house and was asked whether I had pictures of the food. I said no and that they wouldn't be able to tell that the food was late and cold from pictures, but still they're saying without pictures there's nothing I can do! They've asked me to leave a review which I will not bother doing as it seems from reviews below they just delete negative comments anyway. Do not use!!

I am really sorry to hear your food arrived cold, and past the estimated target delivery time. When we receive a complaint that involves the restaurant's side of the service provided, e.g. preparation and delivery of the food, we are required to contact them to request a refund or discount, which is at their discretion and may require collection of the food so that they can either redeliver it hot, or authorise a refund. If the restaurant does not agree to either of the above, we are able to assist with compensating you once we receive photos of the food ordered which is to show the food was not consumed. In this instance, I would like to follow up with your complaint to see if any further action can be taken to try and regain your trust in our service, as I understand this must have been a very disappointing experience with us, and you shouldn't be left with cold food and no resolution.

I ordered food this evening (at 21.38) …

I ordered food this evening (at 21.38) through this site. I paid for the order by card and got a confirmation email and a confirmation text. after about an hour I tried to contact the restaurant, to no avail, I contacted hungry house through their live chat app, not live when you have to wait for them to deal with the 12 people in the queue before you - not really the sign of good service. It turns out the the restaurant 'lost' my order! Nothing can be done about it - but I can have 50% off my next order but there is n o way to validate this, no reference number etc. The kitchen is closed, it is now gone 11 so no chance of ordering from any other delivery and 3 very hungry people. Really miserable service with no useful input or help when things go wrong - what is the point of this site?

Don’t bother ordering through Hungry house terrible service. Took my money for an order that could not be filled - false advertising and now they say it’s going to be 3 days for a refund!! Tried to look how to complain on their website and they are making that difficult! Please don’t waste your time or money!

I'm sorry to hear about that issue with the restaurant not being able to fulfill your order and the ensuing refund hassle.

I think I may have found your case - the order from Pizzarelli's?

We rely on restaurants to inform us if they are unable to fulfill orders, for whatever reason that may be. If they do not then we cannot communicate that to customers and it seems that is the cause of the issue here. If you send through your order information I can speak to the restaurant and educate them on the importance of communicating with us about these things.

The 3 working days for refund that you were quoted is a UK standard processing time and applies to the payment provider's time to show on your statements. I can see on your case that the refund left hungryhouse in the early hours of the following morning. We process financial transactions around 5am the following morning, which is our close of business.

If you need any more information on that refund, or have any more questions regarding this then I would be more than happy to follow up and assist if you just drop your order ID in an email to socialmedia@hungryhouse.co.uk.

Order from cosmos in wickford

Order from cosmos in wickford, I received s text that food will be delivers at 20.20, I then called the, at 20.45 which they said that it will be 5 minutes driver has just left! I said that this is now 25 mins late! Well the driver had turns up at 21.06 driver passed us our food and the bag had spilt and went everywhere! So then I moaned at the driver and said this is unacceptable!!!!!

Food is cold and have missing items!

Will not use this place again! They was not even sorry!!!!

Awful customer service

Awful customer service. Ordered pizza for 3 children. The takeaway never turned up no contact or anything. Then a day later I receive an email from hungryhouse saying the restaurant cancelled my order. Only a day late to tell us that. Useless. Won’t waste my time again.

I would prefer to go hungry than use them again.

I had a horrendous experience with Hungryhouse customer service who were incredibly rude and offensive after I complained that an order was over 90 minutes late. I will never, ever use them again.

I just had THE WORST experience of my life with your customer service.
After notifying them that my order arrived in 17 mins after placing the order and upon opening it it smelt and tasted off! It was disgustingly stale and mushy.
Your staff said there was nothing they could do and hung up the phone whilst I was still speaking.
It absolutely ruined my evening in with my friends and I’m now heading to the supermarket at 9pm to sort out dinner.
I would like a full refund please and for a link to be sent for me to leave the restaurant a review.

Your call agent staff needs urgent training.

I'm very sorry to hear that you had the worst experience with our platform and customer care. It is totally unacceptable for someone to terminate a phonecall unless they are submitted to abusive or aggressive language or behaviour - I can't imagine that was the case here.

Was it the restaurant or hungryhouse customer care that you spoke to? If you send me your order ID I can investigate who you spoke to and pass this case on to our supervisor to investigate further. Can you email that information to me at socialmedia@hungryhouse.co.uk?

For food quality issues we will contact the restaurant to pass the complaint on and make them aware of the problem. If the food is not being consumed we usually will arrange the collection of the order in exchange for a full refund. I understand that the time has now passed but I will still investigate whether I can refund the order for you.

I should be able to send over a review link for the restaurant in that process too. Just so you are aware that because the financial transaction is between the customer and the restaurant and we just facilitate it, I can only process it with their approval - but of course I will do my very best to get this sorted out for you and if not, find another form of compensation.

Again, apologies - I await your email so I can sort this out ASAP.

The service I received was shocking to …

The service I received was shocking to say the least I ordered food off this site and was told 10 mins before order was due to come that the order was declined but they still took my money and the customer service team told me it would take 72 hours to get a refund stay well clear of this site and use just eat instead I only tried this site on the off chance too

Hi Mark,

I do apologise for the inconvenience caused by the late cancellation and then the processing time for refunds.

I would like to take a closer look at exactly what happened so perhaps you would be able to send me an email with your order ID in? The address is socialmedia@hungryhouse.co.uk.

What may have happened is that the restaurant accepted the order incorrectly and only noticed at a late stage that they could not deliver it, hence they cancelled so close to the ETA.

With regards to the refund process, the 72 hours is actually the time required by the bank, payment or card provider to process the transaction. The money will leave hungryhouse at 5am and then the time after that is a standard across most payment providers in the UK. We also quote this as a maximum because frequently the money is back in the account faster than that.

Ordered are food, get a confirmation, after 45mins receive a call stating they will not deliver to our area.

This is not the first time this has happened and hungry house seem to want to do nothing to rectify this.

Thanks for getting in touch to inform us of this issue - it's certainly not consistent with the level of service we strive to deliver and expect our partner restaurants to have.

Firstly, apologies for any inconvenience. I appreciate how annoying to wait 45 minutes just to have your order cancelled must've been.

Secondly, can you please send to socialmedia@hungryhouse.co.uk your order ID or the email you placed the order with so I can get your information up?

What I'll do is speak to the restaurant about efficiently managing their hungryhouse account and explain the negative effect of their actions in this case. If they are performing like this repeatedly then I will ensure that we remove them from the platform if they are not able to improve with our assistance.

Then, if possible, I'll try to organise some compensation for you. As the order was cancelled and refunded I can't promise anything, but I hope that we can deliver something to soften the frustration you experienced.
