Another fabulous experience from Glover Priest Stourbridge, specifically Chloe Hobbs and Jordan Whyley. Following on from a previous successful conveyancing transaction in 2023, we specifically requested Chloe and Jordan to handle the Sale and Purchase of our residential property, completing in December 2024. This included management of our part in a chain.

Our expectations were exceeded again. Chloe and Jordan were excellent throughout - communications were timely, relevant and accurate. Documents were easily understood and responses clear and to the point.

Would highly recommend and would use again.

To say the service was poor would be an understatement.

From the moment the case was assigned to the conveyancer, communication and updates were non-existent. On multiple occasions, I attempted to contact the assigned conveyancer, Zainub Mahmood, but each time I was passed between 3 or 4 different individuals who could not provide me with any answers, all claiming to be Zainub’s assistant. This process felt more like dealing with a call center, where no one had any updates or ownership of the case.

There were multiple issues throughout the process, but the final straw came when completion was delayed weeks due to special conditions from the lender that had yet to be satisfied. These conditions were something Zainub had been aware of since receiving the mortgage offer 10 weeks prior. However, when I discussed this with her, she was completely unaware of the outstanding requirements and why the lender had not yet released the funds. Only after bringing this to her attention did the case proceed to completion, just days later.

The lack of communication and the absence of accountability in the office, including from managers, gave me no confidence that the case was being handled properly.

Furthermore, both the estate agent and the seller’s solicitor, along with myself, raised concerns on numerous occasions with Zainub’s managers, Rachel and Julia, including submitting a formal written complaint. To date, we have received no acknowledgment or response.

As a result of this poor service, both the buyer’s estate agent and the developer have decided to blacklist Glover Priest and will not be working with the firm again. I, too, will not be using your services again and will not recommend Glover Priest to others.

I would highly recommend Rhys, Rayhan and Kerry for the excellent service they provided with a difficult sale of our property.

Anne has been fantastic with the sale of my house, great communications especially with all the problems I’ve had. Will be using Anne again once i find my next property.

Excellent conveyancing work from Stephen, Nadine and Paige at Glover Priest in Lichfield. I have had the pleasure of working with the team on a few occasions now and can honestly say I would never use anyone else. Their professionalism, communication, commitment, friendly approach and speed at which they work are outstanding. My purchase was complete in just over 4 weeks!!

I don't think there is a better term to describe our experience with GloverPriest Solicitors, other than NIGHTMARE.

We chose the GloverPriest team in Kings Heath for the sale of our property and the purchase of a new one, as part of a chain. Within the span of 7 months, our main solicitor has been changed 4 times. Each time, the new person took several weeks to get familiar with the case and the documentation, which was very disruptive for the process and caused a lot of delay. Then, they left the business and dumped the case on another solicitor, so that the thing would be back at square one.
Their customer service is non-existent: they lost files, they didn't reply to emails and didn't pick up the phone, or return our calls. They would only pick up the phone after leaving it ringing for ages.
On some occasions, some of their statements made us doubt their effective understanding of how the process of a 'chain' in a property transaction works, and a lack of knowledge of its complexity caused by all the moving parts connected to it.
The entire process caused us an enormous amount of effort, stress and wasted time. We missed our completion date three times, of which one was because the designated solicitor 'could not find' the email from our lender confirming the timely release of funds, despite us checking multiple times with the bank that the email was sent to the right address.
The cherry on the cake was that, when we gathered information from our vendors that the planned completion date would not be achievable, due to issues in other parts of the chain, we informed them and they CHARGED US A FEE OF £180 (£90 per transaction) for having changed the completion date at the last moment!! So much for us trying to make their job easier.

We are two educated, digital-savvy professionals, and we have struggled to get this painful process over the line, with immense stress, waste of time and energy. I cannot fathom how a less educated, or elderly person, could have dealt with this.

If we could have done it ourselves, we would have. If we could give 0 stars, we would.

Prompt and professional responses throughout

I've been a mortgage adviser for over 35 years and this has to be in the top 5 of the worst solicitors experiences I have ever had.
The huge delays caused by them nearly cost my client his business and yet despite the numerous times we told them the urgency of the case from the beginning they continued to cause further delays by simply not doing what they were paid to do.
We have evidence of searches not being requested on time, late applications of deed searches, delayed requests for funds and the lists go on and on. We had to carry out many of the chases meant for the solicitors just to get the case over the line as the solicitor dealing with the case was incompetent.
Absolutely no empathy for the client and the delays they caused and not a single apology for problems caused by them.
The simple remortgage case could have been dealt with and completed by a competent solicitor within 4-6 weeks and yet we had to wait almost 3 months.
Absolutely diabolical service!
And when you call to make a complaint without mentioning the solicitor dealing with the case and the person at the end of the line names them because they have had numerous complaints about the same solicitor that isn't a good sign.
You have been warned! Just a shame you can't leave less than 1 start to submit a review.

Whilst we were not the clients we were the mortgage advisers dealing with the case after choosing them through a conveyancing quote site so we were very heavily involved with the case and the experience both us as advisers and our client received appalling service.

Anouska and Gemma at the Stourbridge office made the sale of my late mother's house straightforward and were responsive to emails and phone calls. Thank you so much. This is the second time I have used Glover Priest and I would use them again in the future.
