Being Ghosted by GMS (AGM Group UK)

Hired GMS (AGM Group UK) for my move from the UK to Toronto, Canada (contract GMS293475) but now being ghosted by all contacts from GMS( Emran & Susan) I prepaid all moving and insurance fees In August 2025 but never received copy of shipping documents or copy of insurance policy. I have written and phoned numerous times to get a delivery date and received a few email replies from Emran with apologies but never delivery specifics, the last one being January 6,2026. I've called numerous times over the past 2 weeks and still no response. I need my furniture ASAP and have run out of options to get a response. Would appreciate help from anyone who knows anything.

Desperately poor service from Gerson

I have been trying to get in touch with Gerson for 3 weeks. My reference number 298646. Everything stemmed from the absurd surveyor's estimate which generated a volume that was half of what was needed. Then the packing and transport team arrived without an inventory, only 60 packing boxes, and neither of the two were professional packers. When the goods arrived at their destination there was so much damage (mainly glassware and fragile kitchenware), including many items that were never packed at source and were transported loose, unprotected, unboxed, simply thrown into the van. A box of singles arrived unboxed, with its wrapper torn and singles strewn across the van. A decorative wooden table arrived with two legs broken. Countless boxes arrived with holes gouged into them, other bags arrived torn and their contents spilling out. I have been reaching out to Gerson since the packing team arrived at source and subsequently since delivery at destination. Silence. No feedback. It has been a terrible experience, we have paid for services we did not get and at no point have Gerson even offered to engage with us. I am not receiving "out of office" replies to my emails. Steer well clear of this company. They are NOT a removals company, they are simply "middlemen" that farm your goods out to third parties who have no concern for your items. Extremely disappointing.

It is now over 3 weeks since the move with Gerson and I have still not been able to communicate with anyone regarding customer complaints. The packers arrived with 60 boxes to pack 138 items. Please make that make sense? One of the packers was "stepping in for his friend" and had no packing experience - he did the kitchenware, which arrived with so many smashed items. The packers had no manifest when they arrived to pack - they did not know anything about what was to be moved. They placed items UNBOXED and UNPROTECTED into the van. Honestly, Gerson Moving Services, you have a serious problem with the 3rd parties you use.

From the start of your booking on 4 November 2025 through to your delivery on 28 January 2026, and thereafter, you have been in contact with Gerson Moving Services, who have been supporting you throughout the process.
Based on the survey conducted using the items presented to the surveyor, a total of 138 items were recorded, compared with the 208 items collected on the day of packing. Our partner team who packed and collected your goods are fully trained export packers, and we expect them to handle all items with the utmost care.
I am very sorry to learn of the damages you have reported. If you took out our Move Protect coverage, please proceed with the claims process so that your concerns can be reviewed and addressed as promptly as possible.
Please do not hesitate to let us know if you require any assistance with the next steps.

Shipment of furniture from SA to UK

Firstly thank you to you for agreeing to take on my request for help and to Emran for getting the first steps underway.
My shipment arrived safely on Saturday morning and I wanted to write and thank everyone for their excellent service. We only ever communicated via email and I couldn't have asked for more friendly, helpful and professional assistance. From Errol and his team in South Africa who did an excellent packing up and removal of furniture (which arrived unscathed in Wiltshire), to Genevieve who kept me posted re the different stages of the shipment and of course Yasmin(the operations manager), so friendly, warm and incredibly efficient.
Thank you all. You made what was a very stressful time, lighter.

i have now been back and forth with gms baggage for 5 month now, they have lost half my power tools costing over 5k and also my suitcases costing around 8k worth of clothing items.
Avoid this company like the plague, these just take your money and when your items go missing do not want to help in anyway they have stopped answering the phone and also stopped replying to my emails absolutely poor customer service i’m now 13k down from using these and no help at all, even asked me to claim off my home insurance, please do your research before using this company as i would hate for anyone else to lose there belongings and not receive any help at all from them.

Bizar duur en maken nog meer schade dan de hoogte van je declaratie. Afwikkeling van de schade is onpersoonlijk en zonder begrip voor de emotionele schade van het verlies van je goederen. Absoluut teleurstellend

De reactie hieronder dat een en ander al door de verzekeraar is geaccepteerd, blijkt een leugen te zijn om hier goed over te komen.

Great service

GMS handled the delivery of our goods when they arrived in the UK from NZ.
Great customer service and communication from Emran to organise the delivery date and details.
Really impressed with Luca who handled the physical delivery to our property. He patiently unpacked and put our super king size bed frame back together successfully - something that other movers haven't been able to do as its a bit complicated!
Based on our experience I would recommend GMS.

The local removals company did not pack items on site and damaged most items

The local removal company engaged by GMS ran out of packing materials and transported several high value items unsecured. These were all damaged. GMS are not interested to help in this regard. The service recieved by the receiving team in USA was great. Such a shame GMS are unwilling to do anything about the terrible experience on the UK side. Ruined what would have been a good service, therefore suggest you all avoid using GMS and go with someone more professional.

We’re sorry to hear that you were disappointed with aspects of your experience. As previously discussed, you opted not to take out insurance coverage through us. Unfortunately, this means we are unable to process a claim on your behalf. However, we recommend that you reach out to the third-party insurer you chose, and we are happy to provide any necessary documentation to support your claim.
Given the nature of international relocations, we strongly advise all clients to take out insurance. Your move manager sent three reminders prior to your move date, ultimately, this was declined.
We would also like to highlight that we accommodated change to your move date, as well as an increase in the volume collected on the day both of which were managed promptly to support your relocation.
You mentioned significant damage to most of your items. This has not been reflected in the signed delivery documents, nor in your prior communications, which indicated that a handful of items sustained minor damage. Nevertheless, we take all feedback seriously and have shared your comments with the relevant teams for review. We regret that any of your belongings were damaged and sincerely apologise for the inconvenience.
We’re pleased to hear your positive feedback regarding our USA partner, and we will be sure to pass on your kind words to their team.

No fuss international move

I reached out to a few shipping agents for a quote to move my personal items to be transported unaccompanied to Dubai following my move. There seemed to high and low quotes so I decided to go with a mid quote and Shelley my contact at GMS was very helpful and patient in responding to my queries.
Once agreed on a pick up date, the team arranged for my belongings to be collected. Shelley asked me to provide some documents required by the port in UK and UAE and I was then introduced to Emran who was processing and arranging the shipment. Once my belongings were on board I received notice of the details of the shipment, vessel and ETA into Dubai and advised of the local agent details who would contact me upon arrival into port.
Once near the arrival date the local agent cherylynne at Interem contacted me to check all details they had were correct and advised updates on ETA of the vessel. Once arrived into port the agent dealt with all the details and contacted me to arrange delivery. The next minute there is a knock at my door and they are bringing in my shipment and offered to help unpack although that was not required.
The whole process from from start to finish was smooth and informed. I knew from the start from my comms with Shelley that once they had the documents required and picked up the boxes I just had to wait for the arrival and delivery. No fuss, no drama. I highly recommend the team at GMS for international shipping arrangements. Thanks all at GMS and local agent Interem Dubai. Julie

Solved a difficult problem

This company went to great lengths to sort out a problem I had with incoming taxes (tor)
Imran was incredibly patient with my frustrations as well as fixing them.
The delivery went well and my goods arrived in good condition. I would recommend using this company without hesitation.

Excellent Gerson Moving Services

Gerson Moving Services were brilliant from start to finish. Yasmin Wright was helpful with the many forms that needed filling, and she and Emran Khan kept me updated every step of the way. The delivery crew were courteous, friendly and very helpful. My boxes arrived in perfect condition. I couldn't recommend the company more.

If I could give a negative number…

If I could give a negative number rating I would. Absolutely worst moving company I ever used. Quotes mean nothing, tacked on thousands of dollars in packaging, scheduling was a nightmare after dates were confirmed. They charged me premium to move my piano plus weight and then broke it. Would not reply to damage claim. Delayed my delivery by almost a week. Dropped off boxes in garage and random rooms. Was a mystery process to find where my clearly marked with location boxes were. No mays or shoe covers, No bed set ups, list goes on. Rude workers! Shady ! Do not even bother with these people.

We are a UK company, you mention dollars, we would not quote in this and we can't find any details of your move at all based on the information you have provided. ...So much easier than I thought!

Lisa was so helpfull all the way through my move. She was especially understanding when I had to put my goods into storage because the tenants refused to move out. The pick up and delivery guys were polite and efficient, all my goods were delivered without damage or mess and I am very happy with the whole experience. Thank you

Moved from Norway to England; GMS made the process smooth and easy

I recently moved from Norway to England. The GMS team was great the entire time. On the Norwegian side the movers needed to reschedule the move later in the day, and both the movers themselves and the move manager were very proactive with communicating with me. The move itself on both sides was incredibly smooth, and the insight and assistance I received from the GMS team - including guidance on the HMRC Transfer of Residence form for moving to the UK - made the process a dream. Special thanks to my move manager, Lisa Finlan, and the Senior Relocation Consultant Joshua John-Hector with whom I first discussed the move, for being so kind, helpful, and responsive throughout the entire process. I very much recommend GMS for anyone considering an international move.

Excellent Experience!

GMS kept us fully updated re the moving process, particularly Sarah.
All items, that were shipped, were in perfect condition on arrival and the delivery was received on the day/time as agreed. Overall a very good experience.
