YDF London - highly recommend!
I was a part of the July 2018 YDF London Cohort and I really enjoyed the diverse agenda, meeting new people, building my network and learning directly from Diplomats, and people working in NGOs and governments. It was an incredible week, the hotel we stayed in was amazing. I appreciated building my practical policy and leadership skills during the policy workshops and utilising my existing presentation skills that hadn't been used since graduating. It was an unforgettable experience, included walking on the O2, having afternoon tea in the Queen's Room at Parliament after meeting some UK politicians. I learned a lot about the political landscape of the UK and diplomacy on an even more practical level than my university program offered. I highly recommend the YDF experience to anyone who is enthusiastic about making the world a better place in an environment filled with diversity and inclusion. I look back on my time with the GDF with a sense of professional and personal satisfaction. I have maintained valuable friendships and professional connections ever since. Very highly recommend to future cohorts! GDF staff are supportive, are fantastic at keeping in touch even years after the event and are very approachable and friendly. I also appreciate the fact they encourage ongoing networking and professional development no matter what the world has faced since 2018. It's great to keep up-to-date and know what's expected from employers in the field on an ongoing basis so I know how to continually develop myself throughout my career. It's worth the investment in my opinion. Very highly recommended!
Experience in Ankara and Mexico
I had the privilege of attending the Young Diplomats Forum in Ankara in 2013 and Mexico in 2014, and both were incredibly valuable experiences. I was also honoured to be part of the Youth Advisory Group, which made my connection with the forum even more meaningful.
The experience had a lasting impact on both my personal and professional journey. The international network, leadership opportunities, and exposure to diplomacy and global affairs I gained through the forum helped shape my career. Today, as President of the International Center for Diplomacy, I still see the influence those experiences had on my path and work.
I’m grateful to the Global Diplomatic Forum for bringing together young leaders from around the world and creating meaningful opportunities for dialogue, collaboration, and leadership. I highly recommend it.

The entire experience was amazing and a once in a lifetime opportunity. Younes and all the panelists were great and the cohort I was with in London have remained my colleagues and friends. The program in Washington DC at Johns Hopkins SAIS was also phenomenal and the networking opportunities are always high level. The organization has continued to support me the past 2.5 years. I highly recommend participating in this program!
The Young Diplomatic Forum (A transformative diplomatic experience)
The Young Diplomatic Forum, held in September 2025 in Brussels, was truly exceptional. As a gathering of emerging leaders from every corner of the globe, the forum masterfully bridged theory and practice, offering a deep, firsthand immersion into the world of diplomacy and international relations.
One of the forum’s remarkable features was its meticulously planned daily itinerary. Each day, participants embarked on trips to a various political and/or international institutions based in Brussels. These visits were not mere sightseeing tours but curated experiences that corroborated and deepened our perception of diplomacy and international relations. Observing from within; negotiations, protocols, and multilateral decision-making in action transformed abstract concepts into tangible realities.
The friendships forged during those days in Brussels are really international, creating a professional and personal network that extends across continents.
Vital lesson is diplomacy is not a single skill but a multifaceted necessity. From economic cooperation and environmental pacts to security governance and humanitarian law, each stop revealed a different layer of how societies organise themselves and resolve complex issues. Whether addressing trade disputes or peacekeeping mandates, the forum consistently highlighted that diplomatic mediation of varying manners and scales is the cornerstone of a functional world order.
Brussel (2019 NATO HQ) & London Westminster parliament (2022)
I was selected both to Brussels in 2019 and to London in 2022. In Brussels prior war outbreak we’d profoundly had a briefing in NATO HQ and week lengthy resolutions held at Egmont Palace. Followed geopolitically dramatic conflicts. In 2022 at Westminster Parliament - again - followed monarchy shift. Basically on diplomatic and economic affairs the prior meetings we’d held were always implicitly results and such institutional changes are possible only through brighter diplomats’.
Highly Recommended!
I have attended two of the forums. The first one in Brussels (2019) and the other one in London (2025). The forum afforded me the opportunity to institutions and persons that would be difficult to have met otherwise such as NATO, Flemish Parliament and the Chinese Embassy in London. I learnt a lot and made life long friends! I highly recommend the Global Diplomatic Forum.
A valuable and practical learning experience from Guatemala.
Even though my participation was virtual and I connected whenever my schedule allowed, I found the course of Diplomatic Protocol and Ceremonial to be a very valuable and enriching experience.
I especially appreciated that the programme went beyond theoretical concepts and focused strongly on practical application through case studies, scenarios, presentation, and exercises related to protocol, ceremonial, and event management. This approach made the learning experience much more dynamic and applicable to real professional environments.
One aspect I would have appreciated even more was having greater interaction in the comments section, particularly seeing responses or feedback from instructors and other participants regarding the reflections or commnents I shared during the course. I believe this would have made the virtual experience even ore engaging and collaborative.
Overall, it was a meaningful experience that I would recommend to professionals interested in diplomacy, protocol, leadership, and international engagement.
Greetings from Guatemala!
Top platform for International Affairs and Diplomacy
I participated in the Young Diplomats Forum organized by the Global Diplomatic Forum in Greece in 2015. I have since kept in touch with the GDF. It serves as an excellent platform to learn, meet and interact with professionals from different fields with a common interest in diplomacy and international affairs.
Great opportunity to solve go-political issues
It was an excellent opportunity to learn about global political issues and work with international teams on creative solutions. I met some great people and highly recommend it
My experience at the Young Diplomatic…
My experience at the Young Diplomatic Forum was incredibly rewarding and enriching. The program was exceptionally well organized and offered valuable insight into the world of diplomacy and international affairs. I had the opportunity to visit major international institutions in Washington, D.C. and learn directly from experienced professionals and experts in the field. Through this experience, I gained a deeper understanding of global issues, diplomacy, and international cooperation while also connecting with inspiring individuals from diverse backgrounds.
2017 YDF Latvia
I attended the 2017 YDF in Latvia as an university student and it was truly an amazing experience! The workshops, lectures and institutional visits were excellent for building knowledge, however, what made it so valuable for me was the opportunity to meet people from all over the world and to discuss topics they have first-hand experience of. I built long-lasting connections and friendships and the week I spent in Latvia was a memorable one! Highly recommend it to anyone with flair for international relations and desire to connect with people across borders!
Young Diplomats Forum (YDF) Washington, D.C.
Diplomatic Watch Magazine covered the 23rd edition of the Young Diplomats Forum (YDF) in Washington, D.C., where the Global Diplomatic Forum (GDF) convened an international group of diplomats, policy professionals, scholars, and emerging leaders for substantive engagement on contemporary diplomatic and global policy issues.
The forum examined a broad range of subjects related to diplomacy, international cooperation, global governance, leadership, and current policy developments affecting international affairs. Participants represented diverse diplomatic, academic, governmental, and professional backgrounds, contributing to discussions that were informed, practical, and internationally focused. The sessions were professionally managed and maintained a strong emphasis on substantive dialogue and policy engagement.
One of the forum’s notable strengths was the quality of participation across the various sessions and engagements. Conversations continued beyond the formal discussions and encouraged professional exchange among participants from different regions and institutions. The level of engagement at the forum demonstrated careful planning, institutional consistency, and a clear commitment to meaningful international dialogue.
For a publication that has followed diplomacy and global engagement closely over several years, the YDF stands among the more credible and consistently valuable platforms available to emerging global leaders. The strength of its international network, the seriousness of its vision, and the standard it has maintained across its editions continue to distinguish the work of the Global Diplomatic Forum.
Brussels 2019
I was a part of the 2019 cohort in Brussels.
Everything was well organized. The events all gave us access to senior members of governments. It was amazing. What stood out to me is the principled governance. The cohort was also amazing and they're all highly accomplished.
Ydf 2017 B
I absolutely loved my experience with Global Diplomatic Forum and enjoyed every bit of it. It was far more than just an event or program — it became a life-changing experience for me. I met amazing people, made genuine friendships, and was surrounded by kind, welcoming, and inspiring individuals. I learned so much, not only academically and professionally, but also on a personal level.
The staff and participants created an environment where everyone felt valued and encouraged to grow. I honestly wish I could go back and experience it all over again. If I ever had the opportunity, I would not hesitate for a second.
For anyone reading this and wondering whether it is worth it — do not hesitate. This is a once-in-a-lifetime experience that you truly do not want to miss. I would prioritize this over many other opportunities for anyone searching for knowledge, meaningful experiences, personal growth, and connections.
I am still working in government today, and I can genuinely say that these people inspired me early on in my journey. Their impact stayed with me and helped shape my motivation and path forward. I’m incredibly grateful for everything I gained from this experience.
Worth every penny
Can you put value on knowledge put value on experience or friendship because here you will carry all of the above and more you would gain experience for life as well as knowledge and friendship. Therefore, this is strongly recommended.

I have had the unique opportunity and honour to participate in the training programmes organized by Global Diplomatic Forum in London. I consider GDF and their training as a highly valuable experience dedicated for individuals at the all stages of their developing careers in diplomacy, international relations, and international communication.
I particularly appreciate the combination
of highly profiled expert knowledge with possibility to have workshops in a multicultural setting organized by the professional team of GDF.
Global Diplomat Forum: Shaping Perspectives Through Real-World Diplomacy
It has been almost a decade since I first joined the Global Diplomat Forum in London in 2017, and looking back from 2026, I can honestly say that it has been one of the most meaningful and transformative experiences of my personal and professional journey.
Over the years, I have had the privilege of participating in many of the Forum’s events across London and Brussels. Although I have unfortunately not yet been able to attend the sessions in Malaysia or the United States, every forum I joined has left me with invaluable lessons, meaningful friendships, and an even deeper understanding of the rapidly changing world we live in.
What makes the Global Diplomat Forum truly exceptional is its ability to bring together some of the most urgent and pressing global issues of our time into meaningful discussions. The knowledge shared at these forums is not theoretical or distant — it is practical, timely, and deeply relevant to the realities of modern diplomacy, geopolitics, technology, economics, international security, and global cooperation.
One of the most remarkable aspects of the Forum is the opportunity to hear from and engage with top diplomats, policymakers, political experts, and high-profile professionals who have real-world experience working in some of the world’s most influential institutions, governments, embassies, international organizations, and global corporations. Their speeches, panel discussions, and personal insights provide an extraordinary level of depth and authenticity that is difficult to find elsewhere.
Equally inspiring are the people who participate. The Forum brings together a unique and diverse community of highly motivated students, aspiring diplomats, international professionals, embassy representatives, NGO members, and civil servants from all around the world. It creates an environment where people are not only learning but also connecting, collaborating, and building genuine international friendships.
To me, the Global Diplomat Forum feels like a living model of global cooperation — a space where people from different countries, cultures, and professional backgrounds come together to better understand the world’s challenges and explore collective solutions. It is a place where diplomacy becomes real, where ideas are exchanged openly, and where meaningful dialogue crosses borders.
Behind an initiative of this scale and impact lies an enormous effort, an extensive international network, and strong support from major institutions, global companies, diplomatic bodies, and organizations across many sectors — from technology diplomacy, economic diplomacy, information diplomacy, public policy, international relations, and even sports diplomacy.
Above all, what I value most about the Global Diplomat Forum is that it creates something increasingly rare in today’s world: friendships without borders, honest intellectual exchange, and truly eye-opening real-world experiences.
I genuinely consider my participation in the Global Diplomat Forum to be one of the experiences I am most proud of. It has not only enriched my understanding of global affairs but has also contributed meaningfully to my professional path, personal growth, and lifelong passion for diplomacy and international engagement.
For anyone passionate about diplomacy, leadership, international relations, or global affairs, I can confidently say: this is an experience truly worth having.
The Benefits of Global Diplomatic Forum courses.
Global Diplomatic Forum courses equipped me for my journey in international relations and diplomacy from the global strategic communications' perspective. I will recommend Global Diplomatic Forum's tailored courses to anyone who is interested in international relations and diplomacy.
