A visit to the Festival of Light at Longleat

I have just been on the Festival of Light at Longleat & would give it 5 stars except for two niggles. The driver was not friendly as expected: he didn't tell us his name & we had to ask on the second day & gave the impression of not caring if anything was wrong. The other problem was to do with entry to the House. We thought it was included in the cost of the entry to the safari park because the brochure & your correspondence stated "prior to the event, we drive through the safari park & explore the mansion" However, when we arrived at the mansion, we were told we should have been booked in for a tour & there was an extra charge of £7.95. We were mis-led by your company & should heave had this fact clarified. Also, the park only accepted credit or debit cards & there was a brochure about the lights so why weren't we given one or at least told about it?
It was a shame about these niggles as the office staff were very good, the hotel was excellant & the lights fantastic.

We booked a holiday to Christmas…

We booked a holiday to Christmas markets leaving in December 2023.We paid a deposit of £100.
Gardiners cancelled the tour in the end of August 2023.
Despite several phone calls asking for a refund,excuses given were person who deals with refunds is off for two weeks on holiday next excuse she is busy but will be looking into refunds later.
Nearly one month later we received our deposit(our four friends received the same treatment.
Very poor service and lame excuses which sadly makes us think we would never use this company again.
Come on Gardiners show your customers respect, instead of keeping deposits and reaping the interest yourselves!!

Disappointed

I have been on a lot of day trips with gardeners there are a lot of trips when you get on that your seat is taken by another person. I go out of my way to book a seat where I will hopefully be sitting as I have a health issue. I can't see the point of going on anymore trips with this company as they don't guarantee the seat you have booked. I am very disappointed.

one star is being very generous

one star is being very generous. we went on the ( wonderful ) grampian castle and gardens tour. i have poor mobility so therefore couldnt go into some of the castles. nothing from gardiners to say it wasnt suitable so assumed, wrongly, that i would be able to manage. plus my husband was recovering from a stroke and needed a break. he didnt get one. most of the stops were for just over an hour, no time to see anything, just time to grab a drink . i have reported this to gardinersNMC themselves only to get a reply, basically saying it was my fault for booking the wrong trip as it wasnt suitable. if it was stated in the brochure that it wasnt advisable, then thats my choice. the coach itself was a awful, the seatbelts were useless as when wearing one, you couldnt move, very restricted .if and when you could fasten it. no water in the toilet for hand washing either . both health and safety issues. apparently the coach passed its MOT the week of our trip. absolutely disgusting customer service. id advise anyone to stay well clear of this company.

Absolutely disgusting company with lack…

Absolutely disgusting company with lack of respect towards people with any form of disability WOULD NOT recommend response to complaint was totally unacceptable. Trip was a 5 day Grampian castles and gardens tour on 1st may which was at a cost of £450 per person the service and tour we received was worth about £200. The coach was a 10 yr old coach NOT luxury as stated with no water in the toilet and seatbelts which once plugged in meant you could not move. The seats were threadbare and the coach had an issue which meant it took over 11 hours to reach Aberdeen. Many of the castles were not suitable for mobility issues which if it had been stated on the brochure we would not have booked resulting in many of our coach not being able to access most of the trip. The hotel was nothing like the website and the food was tasteless. I have given Gardiners an opportunity to respond and the response to my emaiI received was insulting and used discriminatory behaviour towards anyone with a disability I am seeking advice from citizens advice

Terrible experience

The first and last time book with gardiners myself and my husband travelled to Scotland on the 1st May for 5 days with 3 paid excursions in the holiday on the 1st day driver pulled up in what I would call feeder coach very uncomfortable no leg room we lost 2 hours travel going up to our destination as there was problems with the coaches main door 2nd day went to Balmoral Castle only 1 room available to view no access to the main house which was disappointing 3rd day went to Fyvie Castle closed fully to the public even though we had paid for it so no access 4th day went to crathes Castle again paid excursion unable again to view this time was because we wouldn't be able to manage the tour as myself and my husband are disabled so altogether we had paid £42 for both excursions which we were unable go view overall very disappointing ax we had paid nearly £1,000 for the 5 day trip we had filled a feedback form in but gardiners are yet to respond very unhappy to say the least so the money we had paid for these excursions is yet to be paid back to me

Perfect mystery getaway

Perfect mystery getaway. This is the first coach tour we've ever been on and won't be the last. Michael the driver was fantastic, made the weekend better than we could have imagined. Highly recommended, definitely 5 stars 🌟. Looking forward to our next adventure with Gardiners.

No refund even though in Hospital

My Aunt booked to go on the Mystery Trip 21/10/22 however she was taken into Hospital on the 20th so she could not attend due being in Cramlington Emergency Ward. Her friend who was to accompany her contacted the firm to get a refund as both of them had paid an extra £2 as an insurance if they had to cancel
The firm said they could not get a refund as you have to cancel at least 24 hours before the trip. Terrible customer service to elderly pensioners especially at this time of year. My Aunt was in Hospital. Shame on you.

Perfect Break

We had a wonderful 5 day holiday to Llandudno with Gardiners. Everything was perfect from booking to returning home. The coach arrived on time & the driver, Andy, could not have been more helpful if he tried. He was friendly, hard working & exceedingly considerate to all, but especially to passengers who were less able than others. He helped to make this a perfect holiday. The choice of hotel was excellent with amazing staff, delicious meals & marvellous entertainment. Thank you Gardiners.

We have been loyal customers up to…

We have been loyal customers up to April 22,
We had to cancel due to testing positive to Covid-19!
Canceld the day we found out!
Asked about credit note or move holiday to another date! We were told everything has to be paid for, so NO
I took separate travel insurance, to there’s that covers a year from saga!
I rang up to discuss with coach company and the lady said have you got insurance, claim of them!
No help of them whatsoever!

Shame on you

I booked two separate excursions for my elderly parents for their Christmas boxes in 2019. The company then went into liquidation and have never seen a single penny. Unbelievable to see the company now up and running by a different family member. How many others have not been refunded - shame on you for all the people who have lost their hard earned cash.

Took my money!

Early in 2020 I paid out well over £1,200 to Gardiners for one holiday and three day trips when Gardiners were running a branch based in SW London. When Covid hit, Gardiners' Southern operation was uncontactable... by phone, by email or by letter. The message on their site was, more or less, don't contact us... we won't reply. Gardiners then put the southern branch into voluntary liquidation. I've seen not a single penny of my £1,200 back. I don't know anyone who has. I understand that anyone who paid by cheque, cash or bank transfer is unlikely to ever see a single penny of their money back. So it's all a bit galling to look at Gardiners' current website and see one of the "team members" in a dinner jacket grinning out. I would really want to know what Gardiners did with the hundreds of thousands of pounds in deposits and payments that they took from folk here in the South. Gardiners... Simply the worst "holiday experience" that we've had in over 50 years. I would never trust them with a single penny of my old age pension ever again.

Llandudno holiday.

My wife and I travelled on your Llandudno Summer Vacation tour from 22nd to 26th July 2019 we found your coach very comfortable and your driver John was very friendly and knowledgeable we enjoyed all the trips you organised in this tour.
