I personally can not fault GAP Home Improvements. We have had our guttering and sofias done, all our windows replaced with a new front door and they have just finished installing our conservatory. All the staff were super efficient, friendly and trustworthy and nothing is too much trouble! I would without a doubt recommend GAP to anyone.

Had guttering and soffits done. Installation delayed by months due to covid, however at no point was this communicated unless I contacted them for updates (numerous times), and even then it was like pulling teeth.
Installation was ok in the end but required 3 return visits to refit the bottom row of roof tiles properly.
Ordered in early October, finished in June.
Disappointing service from a local company, that would have otherwise been in line for more work from me.

We called Nick Bannister through personal recommendation and he visited ourselves the next day and answered all our questions. Everything was delivered and installed professionally on time and Nick kept us up to date throughout with courtesy calls. Will 100 percent be recommending Nick and GAP to friends and family.

We have needed replacement windows for some time but been very reluctant as we have three nervous dogs in the house and worried about the impact an installation would have on them. It got to the point where the old ones were falling apart so we decided to go with GAP as their salesman was impressive and the price was reasonable. We received a phone call from the office the week before due date and we explained our concerns about the dogs being distressed and/or escaping! The lady was most helpful and put a note on our file to that effect. Installation day arrived and one fitter, Stuart, came as the other was finishing up elsewhere. We cannot speak highly enough of this guy's work. He is quick and efficient whilst being thorough and flexible. He asked us in what order we wanted the windows tackled and stuck to it. He was very mindful of where the dogs were and of locking the gates and shutting the doors. His work was impeccable - he has clearly been doing this a long time. Half way through the first day the office offered to send a second body, but we had already decided we preferred to have just Stuart here as the dogs had by then taken to him. He seemed happy enough with that and just put his head down and got on with it. He has now completed the installation and it is outstanding. The glass has been that highly polished it looks like there is none in the frame! One small strip of beading arrived with the tiniest scratch on it. We wouldn't have noticed as it was in an out of the way spot, but Stuart knew it was there and ordered a replacement. This guy is highly skilled and comes thoroughly recommended. Parents are now in the process of ordering a new porch on the back of our windows. THANK YOU GAP!!! (this is the first ever time we have written a review about anything, but we are that impressed).

I have just had my windows replaced. I could not have had a better service. My house was left immaculate & the outside of my house is so neatly finished. Minimal painting to do on the inside, a very tidy & professional job. The work team were extremely courteous & friendly. I would definitely highly recommend.

WARNING | GOOD LUCK WITH GETTING HELP EVEN WHEN THERE'S A FIRE HAZARD

We bought a Solidor through GAP around 4 years ago. The door has warped and this has thrown the locking mechanism out. GAP have been to our property and measured how much the door has warped, which we have been told was sent to Solidor in February. The lock now consistently sticks, and you have to hit the lock, the door, turn it vigorously and pray that it will open. If there was a fire and you needed to escape quickly you would not stand a chance of getting out alive. We contacted GAP in August 2020 to now consistently and still it has not been resolved. We are not generally complainers, but after being polite for 9 months we need this to be rectified for the safety of our family. I'm sad to write this review as other issues have been picked up and rectified promptly, even the initial response was good with someone coming to the house within hours when we weren't able to get in, but for whatever reason this issue has not been prioritised or treated with the level of importance needed, and the communication to update us has been woeful, and we are still stuck with a door that you can not open.

Coming home today I thought again how pleased I am with the new front door. Looks really nice from the outside particularly with the couour carried through to the frame. Nice secure feeling with the fancy lock & the hall is so much lighter inside. Alex, who took the order gave excellent advice & it was fitted fuss-free in a morning. Highly reccomended!

Just agreed my 3rd piece of home improvements with GAP, these guys are great at what they do, commited to the work as well as there gaurentee. From the beginning of the process to the end they hold great professionalism through out and I look forward to seeing my next project come to light. Big shout out to Nick who is a understanding down to earth guy and a pleasure to speak with 👍

I am absolutely delighted with the orangerie I have recently had installed by GAP. After an initial delay due to COVID and other factors, the work undertaken by the team was faultless. Each part of the team arrived on time, were polite. and hardworking. COVID rules were adhered to throughout. The final product adds something special to my house and garden.

I Highly recommend this company, I have just had a fabulous new garden room with an EPDM warm roof constructed, the teams were professional and did an excellent job at a competitive price, my sincere thanks to all involved.

We had a conservatory replacement from GAP, from the initial consultation with Alex to the build we have very impressed by all the staff, process and final construction. We are delighted with the outcome and would highly recommend them. Looking forward to our next project with them.

We have had new windows and doors fitted this week over 3 days I could not fault how the young lad from the company worked he was efficient and hard working explaining how everything worked to a high standard.He was polite and left our house nice and tidy I would recommend them 100%.Even from the beginning when the plans were drawn up to the surveyor coming round we didn't have to wait long from start to finish.

EDIT: While I am leaving my initial 1 star review below, I have now revised the review based on the level of service received since. Engineer was onsite Tuesday morning and fixed the issue within minutes. Was incredibly polite and apologetic as GAP had had the necessity to isolate their service engineers due to COVID. The Sales Director also called in to make sure everything was done to our satisfaction and also apologised profusely for the lack of communication and promised that a new system was now in place to stop this happening in the future.

So, once again, I can wholeheartedly say that GAP have adressed the issue I had - both with the door, and with their communications - and will likely invite them to quote when we consider replacing our windows.

Terrible lack of communication from GAP following an email I sent regarding our Ultion lock not operating as it should following a service call to fit missing hinge pins to our Solidor front door - yes, missing hinge pins. quite important for a supposedly high-security door.
Got an initial response "our service engineer is currently self-isolating...service call has been raised...will contact you".
3 weeks later and nothing.
So now the door doesn't latch properly - GAP don't seem interested as they've had our money.
After this I'll be in touch with Solidor and Ultion to advise them how their stockist/distributor operates.

Went back to GAP after quality issues with a front door fitted a few years ago. A replacement door was arranged by them from the supplier and fitted at no cost. Whole thing handled very efficiently and professionally by Lisa in the office, even under lockdown situation.

This is the first time I have used GAP home improvements and they fully deserve this 5* review.
I decided that I wanted 3 external Solidor's to be installed. I designed my installation on Solidor's web site - then my design was automatically routed to GAP home improvements as the local approved installer.
Nick was very knowledgeable and helped to refine the design and draw up the contract. Barry quickly followed up with the detailed survey. Claire and Lisa kept me up to date with the order progress and realistic installation date during these COVID times. Stuart has just finished the installation over 2 days which was done to a high quality level - it was very refreshing to have such an experienced, clean, tidy and polite tradesman working at my house.
I am completely happy with the Solidor product and the service given by GAP home improvements. It is very refreshing when the process and result is trouble free and high quality!

GAP has carried out five separate projects for us over the past couple of years spread over both of our properties and each one has been perfectly executed. The products are very high quality and the installation teams are extremely polite and professional, tidying up at the end of each day and leaving no mess behind. The fit and finish of all the work is first class and we'd have no hesitation in recommending them. The fact we keep going back to them tells you all you need to know.

Not the cheapest of the quotes we got, but I am so happy with the result.
It looks great and is a really beautiful door.
Even though I had to chase the surveyor once still worth 5 stars.

Very pleased with the job. GAP fitted bifold doors and a window into our garage conversion. The workmen were polite and well organised. The workmen made sure it looked exactly as we expected and that we were happy throughout the process. Recommended.
