A year ago I brought a fiesta it was a 68 plate I left a 5 star review at the time was right a year on my gear box has to be replaced on a car that has done only 30,000 miles very disappointed how rude they were to me in service dept its going to cost about 3000 to replace always brought my cars from them never again

Took my car in for a recall dealt with Jamie from the service department & Peter from the repair bay, fantastic service very thorough and both took the time to ensure I was completely satisfied.

AVOID AT ALL COSTS OTHERWISE YOU'LL BE ON THE SAME BOAT AS ME.
These guys are scam artists.
Took my car in because there was black sediment in the coolant tank.
They inspected and told me the head gasket is gone.
They then took car in on 2nd or 3rd of December promising itll be done within 7 days.
Went after seven days and they told me that it was at south wales piston still for skimming.
So i waited few more day still telling me its not back.
Obviously Christmas came so they were shut.
On 27th i called again as the guy in their used car department told me they will available on that date.
As soon as i rang them and said its mr hussain the first word they said is that i can pick up a curteousy car.
Im a ubereats delivery driver and really don't earn much, plus on top they wasted my whole and busiest month of December where i could of made quite a bit of money.
Then they called me on 2nd or 3rd of January saying its ready.
I picked it up and while im driving im seeing still temperature moving up and down which shouldn't be happening.
Took it back again and they told me it's alright just keep filling coolant up because apparently thats what happens.
Then yesterday 4th January took it down again and while im speaking about this issue another customer is arguing over a door repair which is well hasnt been carried our properly.
At that moment i repeatedly asked the service guy i was talking to please please please sort my car out.
He said he'll look into it.
And this morning on the 5th of January he called me 830am saying its ready.
Went picked it up and the same issue is there not gone temperature going up and down plus i hurt a loud clicking single noise so i parked up and checked coolant level where it was normal but inside the coolant cap there is this weird creamy looking thing now as that is a new issue i realised today.
Never seen no creamy thing in the cap ever until today and im sure that shouldn't be there for a fact coz its the cap of the coolant.

Want a Ford and super customer service, avoid Fordthorne

I wouldn't ever go to these guys ever again.

My partner was looking for a new car and the ST 2022 was on his list. I understand it's a new car that's not been made yet but we headed along to the garage (Fordthorne - Cardiff) to see if we could sit or test drive any others to get a feel for the car.

On arrival we walked around the used forecourt before being approached by a salesman, we said what we'd like to do and his first response was...the 2022 is not out yet. I said I understand but we'd like to sit in a few and take one for a test drive if possible.

We then got a 5 minute lecture on how he would have to clean the cars due to Covid-19 even if we sat in one and if we weren't buying today then no one will deal with you. We had to book when we are ready.

Every other garage we visited including Volkswagen, BMW, Toyota and Peugeot let us sit in and drive cars without any question. I understand Covid but you'll have to clean the cars if we drive today or next week? Felt like the salesman was very lazy and couldn't be bothered.

Will avoid Fordthorne and give ford a wide birth for a while if Fordthorne are selling there cars.

Dishonest Scammers

Dishonest scammers. Avoid this place like the plague. 6 weeks to find a fault, magically find it the day after I call Ford Motor Company, then a further 3 months of "delayed parts" even though they could rip the part out of one of their new cars they have for sale.

Run up massive bill for the sake of it, no paper work, no communication, no help. Again, avoid this place! Avoid Ford.

Excellent Service

Purchased a used car from here as I previously had MOT's and Services and was pleased with the service. Delighted with my car, would highly recommend.

SCAMMERS!

Driver arrived at my address to collect car for body repair. We were told on several occasions by Fordthorne that if paying cash for excess (£500) it must be paid to the driver on arrival otherwise car will not be taken away from property.

Cash was handed to driver in an envelope and car was taken away. Days later a phone call to say car is ready and has had its final inspection.

We collect the car and off we go. It must be 6 weeks later Fordthorne are asking us for the £500 excess! They claim that it wasn’t paid! “REALLY!!!!!!!”….

We are still trying to fight this case as no receipt was given. AVOID AT ALL COST!

A safe haven from car sharks.

The best car company I have ever dealt with. Courteous, genuine, professional & knowledgeable. Their attitude is always great. They always ask “How can we help.” The service was transparent & prompt. They actually send you a video of their inspection! It doesn’t get better than this. “You pays your money & you take your choice”! My choice will always be Fordthorne for service & sales.

In for a service, health check for free

I took my car in for a service and the team did a full vehicle health check free of charge. They video'd the whole thing to show what was good and what was less good 😂. Really helpful and you can trust it because you can see it. Great experience.

Dishonesty is there policy

The most untrustworthy dishonest company I have ever dealt with , took my car in for repair as I was hit by an ambulance, they fitted new bumper and done the repairs , they left my car in a right mess with dust all over seats doors everywhere, they even broke my back light but lucky for them Bmw was recalling them as the light was faulty so he was lucky to not have to pay to replace it , cost me £30 for a valet but thought f it , don’t have to go back again , but a year later all the paint is peeling of the bumper from both wheel arches and underneath, the manager is now trying to say it’s my fault and is refusing to repair it , so no got to write notice letters of intended court action and they amount of stress he is now causing me is unreal , nothing but criminal taking money for jobs they don’t do properly in first place and then try say it’s my fault , I’m disabled this is a Motability car and he has now left with major stress trying to fight to get this 💩 job done properly and he also phoned and told Motability that my car is in very bad condition and it’s not worth repairing it , it got a few little scratches where a pushbike caught it on the back but apart from that it’s in mint condition, this company and manager are nothing but scum , very untrustworthy dishonest and to me criminal, avoid the stress people go somewhere else

Worst place I could've taken my van

Worst place I could've taken my van! Only wanted a new key programmed and speed limiter taken off. Van was in there for 3 and half days, should've been 1 afternoon. Cost me 3 days work. I was charged for removal of speed limiter then I took van for a spin down the motorway and hadn't been removed. Took it back they said there's not one on there so couldn't remove it yet they still charged me! But yet van still won't go over 70 so there obviously is, but they can't even remove it!
They told me the van had a recall for software update, nothing wrong with van at all, but they said it needed it. I insisted it was fine but they said they have to do it. Since I've taken it away there's been a juddering/ loss of power in 3rd gear when accelerating and now engine management light has come on! I will not take it back to them as they have no clue and are very expensive!
I was charged for a new key as my key would not unlock the van but I have now found out that it is a software problem which should've been rectified under the recall so I was charged for key, and left with a broken van!
They refunded me the fee for limiter removal but Never again will I go there.
One star is being very kind!

Never again I will go to Cardiff…

Never again I will go to Cardiff Penarth road ford. They charged me hundreds for work and the fault still remains. The staff are very rude and unhelpful which I had all recorded. They had my car for one week. They kept giving me quotes for different parts for the car and the fault was Not where they had said. Ridiculous! My regular garage who aren’t specialists in ford fixed my car in a few hours for hundreds less than ford! Think very hard before you go to ford.

Very disappointed with the service…

Very disappointed with the service given by this company. I was quoted nearly £1000 that another mechanic could do for nothing!. Would not use again, con artists.

Con artists

Con artists, avoid!!!!!!!! If I could give minus stars that would be a better review. Quoted me £700 to replace a unit in car, I was travelling for weekend so took it to my local Ford when I was home. Another Ford dealership were able to fix software for Nothing! That's right, tried to con me out of £700 for work that was unnecessary. They should be ashamed of themselves! Disgusting!! AVOID AVOID AVOID!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Hi Gemma, we are sorry to hear that you are clearly disappointed with the service you received during your recent visit. Please be assured that there wasn’t any intention to deceive you. Our Technicians can only work with the issue that they are presented with at the time and do their very best to diagnose the fault correctly on the first visit. Unfortunately, they do occasionally get it wrong and I am sorry if our technician did on this occasion. I can see from our records that we did attempt to carry out a software update first, which was unsuccessful. He therefore concluded that a new unit was required. Had authorised the work, a new unit clearly would not have fixed the issue and it would have become apparent that it was definitely a software fault. The technician would have refitted your unit and made further efforts to try and update the software. In the event, I understand that you were given a full refund of the diagnostic charge immediately when you reported to us that you were able to get the software updated.

Fordthorne has been a reputable local family dealer in the area for many years and prides itself on its customer service which, as can be seen in our reviews, both on Google and Trustpilot, is normally of a very high standard. I am very sorry if we fell below our usual high standard on this occasion however, there was never was or ever is, any intention to deliberately deceive our customers. My experience dealing with Fordthorne…

My experience dealing with Fordthorne and in particular Imad Abdo has been exceptional. I have never experienced a salesman that would go over and above for the customer. My family has purchased many a car through Imad and this is my first. Would definitely recommend and i have already told all of my friends of the experience and will return in the future. Thanks!

Terrible customer service

Very disappointing experience with this garage!! Booked my car in for a service due to loud engine noise. When arriving at ten am I was told my car was not booked in but they will look at it anyway. At four o'clock still not heard anything. Tried ringing but was terrible to get through to. Finally had a voicemail stating that my car was ready to collect and that everything seems to be ok with it. On arrival to collect my car I waited twenty minutes due to them not being able to find my keys. I was then told that my car had in fact not been looked at due to staffing levels. Then contradicting this, another staff member said no I think the car was looked at. Therefore I left the garage unaware of whether my car had actually been looked at at all. No apology from any staff. AWFUL customer service!! Would never use again!
