Incredible resource!
What a great resource for surprising finds. I found articles in English newspapers that mentioned my German ancestors! The collections feature is especially useful for organizing newspaper articles by topic or surname and for sharing with other researchers.

Interface is hard to use
Interface is hard to use. In the search parameters, I'll be specifically looking for baptism records in Ireland, and it will give me unrelated records for land ownership or something similar in England so I have to go back and check baptisms and Ireland. It's also kind of circular, but I do appreciate that it shows when I've looked at a record. Although sometimes there's repeats of the first record I searched so I have to look at all of them. I also appreciate that there's a lack of records for the period I'm looking at, 1820-1860.

I was excited to find parish records…
I was excited to find parish records for a family I was researching for a friend. It is user friendly and I love the ability to download/print records. My only complaint is that I find it a bit pricey.

The site I use most for my British family history research
I appreciate the link with FamilySearch.org because I can go straight from a relative's details page on Family Tree and find the search form on Find My Past pre-populated. I appreciate the filters, too, because they help me to zero in on what I'm looking for. I also appreciate the range and number of record images that Find My Past provides, although the range and number could be even better. I find the National Burial Index and the index to wills very useful. Find My Past is the site I use most when I'm researching family who lived in the British Isles.

Be careful of the "Free Trial Period"
the company advertises free trial period and like every other similar subscription service demands credit card information in the hope that the subscriber will forget to cancel. I was not impressed with the service and of course I was one of those people who was charged for a one month subscription without any notice from the company that my free trial period was expiring.

Findmypast.com is the best for Irish Genealogy
Findmypast.com is in my opinion the best source for researching Irish genealogy, which is so difficult due to the destruction of the Public Records Office in Dublin in 1922 and with it 700 years of records. Remember, you also need to incorporate Irish geography into the search. See John Grenham's site for help there.

The sites fairly easy to use and I’ve found a few really helpful records that I couldn’t locate anywhere else. The search function works well most of the time, although it can take a bit of trial and error to narrow things down. I do wish some records were easier to access without upgrading, but the document quality is generally good, and the hints have pointed me in the right direction more than once. It’s not perfect, but it’s definitely a useful tool for anyone researching their family history
