THIS COMPANY IS A SCAM!!
I purchased 2 tops from this store. They resemble nothing like the photos online...made of cheap, nasty material. There are no washing instructions, care information, composition details and the fit is all wrong. 30 days easy returns!!! What a joke. They make returning items so difficult and costly you end up holding onto the items as it is not a simple process. Why are these people still in business in Australia...scamming us all. Items are made from a sweat shop in China. Im done with online shopping unless it is a known reputable brand that has a shop front here in Australia.

Do not buy from this dodgy site. They are not a melbourne based company. The items come from China. I waited more than a month for my leather shoes. When they arrived they were a similar style to the photos but they were cheaply glued together plastic shoes. They do not give refunds even though their website says they do. This company should not be allowed to continue trading. Its100% a scamming site. I've bought better quality from temu at a cheaper price

I paid $64.89 for a dress, received a different style different colour chinese garbage 2 size too small. I wanted to send it back to them, it was not possible, they offered $20.00 refund and keep this too small horrible dress, which gone straight it the garbage. Lost $44.89 never to be returned. This company part of the Shopify crooks.

Atrocious, what I bought and what I received were completely different. The pants were advertised as ‘luxe linen’ and they are 100% polyester. They look nothing like the picture. Ridiculous don’t waste your money. Also shipping took forever. The whole store is fake.

NOT A FAMILY COMPANY. THEY GET THEIR PRODUCTS FROM PLACES LIKE TEMU AND SHEIN. MINE CAME IN THE TEMU BAG. IT WAS TEMU QUALITY BUT I PAID TOP DOLLAR. DONT BELIEVE THEIR REFUND POLICY. YOU HAVE TO PAY $15 FEE PLUS A MINIMUM $40 POSTAGE BACK TO CHINA OR THEY OFFER A 20% REFUND. I PUT IN A COMPLAINT WITH MY BANK AND THEY GOT ONTO THEM AND I GOT A FULL REFUND. NOTHING BUT CHINESE SCAMMERS. DO NOT BUY ANYTHING FROM HERE.

This is a fake Chinese company using Elle Melbourne as its front. The quality of the clothes is awful. And there is no easy way to return them. I hope the real Elle Melbourne - if it exists - can rescue its identity!!
The old truism applies - if it's too good to be true, it is!!!!!

Items I received were all cheap and nasty and obviously made in a Chinese sweat shop. Luckily I reported it as a scam to my bank as soon as I read the bad reviews after I had already ordered. The Bank refunded all my money. All items will now be donated to a charity shop.

This isn’t a family business closing down. The goods arrived from China and the items I ordered bear little resemblance to the image and description of what I thought I had purchased. Beware.

What I thought I was buying and what I actually got was so different. I ordered leather orthopaedic sandals and got cheap plastic crap that's not even worth a postage stamp. When I complained to customer service, I was told I had to pay to get them returned back to China and they also keep a percentage of the refund as a processing fee. This is not a Melbourne company or an Australian company. It's cheap crap out of China. Don't waste your money or fall for the advertising that says they are closing down.

This company is a rip off. Don't trust them. I ordered a pair of size 43 shoes and was sent a size 41. The company insists that I pay to return these shoes to China. Its going to cost me $70 to return. The shoes cost me $89.95. The company advertise that the shoes are leather. I've shown the shoes to a retired cobbler, he says that the shoes are cheap vinyl.
I've written a letter to the Chinese Embassy. This company need to be shut down.

Stay away from these guys. Wish I had looked at reviews before I bought a pair of pants. No response back from the site, and pants are more boys than men’s. Avoid avoid avoid

This is not a father and daughter company, has no connection to Melbourne, is not closing down (though it should) and is cheap, poor quality rubbish! Worse than TEMU!

This company can't improve. What I bought based on photo and ordered are two completely different shirts. Product fabric was like a shower curtain. No product name Elle, no label stating what fabric it us. Site should be taken down so that no other woman would be scammed

They are not in Melbourne like they advertise. If you try to return defective merchandise they don't send you a returns address because you need to return it to China. Poor quality, size descriptions are wrong. They offered a 20% refund for something that will end up in the bin, because it's so bad.
And now they are "closing down". What a SCAM!

Hi everyone, please beware of this company posing as a high end fashion Melbourne store closing down. I got very suspicious when they took over 6 weeks to deliver my order despite repeated checkins from me. I spent over $300 buying what I thought was nice clothing and shoes and they turned out to be AWFUL. Material was cheap, and nothing like stated on the website. Fitting was terrible. N shoes were listed on Temu for 10% of the price Elle charged me. Bad fitting. Clothes and shoes of terrible quality. I’ve had to dump them in the bin. Please beware and do not buy from them. My work colleague had the same experience. Instead of linen, she was sent terrible polyester jersey material tops. She sent them a complaint too. They are getting fake reviews on their website so customers are fooled into trusting them. Never again. I wish I had checked reviews on Trust pilot first before buying from them

Ordered 2 beautiful dresses (as pictured on website) in different colours to wear one for my son's wedding. They were supposed to be chiffon! When they arrived they were polyester and spandex and looked NOTHING like the dress in the photo. It was just a very bad rip off of another company's dress. I am incredibly disappointed and angry at myself for putting trust in these rip off merchants from China. Then to send them back I was going to be charged $67 (cost $125 for both). I'd rather donate them to Vinnie's. Beware, give Elle of Melbourne a very wide berth and DO NOT give them your hard earned money. Oh, and they claim to be closing down, I call BS! They should be shut down by the authorities.

Shocking product, absolutely sh** quality. No way the shoes I bought were originally $300. They look like they fell off a cheap Chinese freight truck (which they probably did). I started to get wary when I was notified they had to come through "customs." So they're not from a lovely Melbourne family owned business who are closing down their reputable business but are just posing as a reputable business in Melbourne. I'm waiting on two more pairs and I'm sure will be equally disappointed. They seem to also be "closing down" for a looooong time lol. So, are they set up to be "closing down" to entice customers to buy their supposedly high quality drastically reduced products? Buyer beware, total scam, kind of crap you'd buy at a second hand flea market (if that). I've also just read their extended refund policy and it looks almost impossible.

I bought 2 dresses, same size, same style, different colours - thinking I was buying within Australia. They arrived in good time - from China.

They had no make/size/fabric/care label, which is mandatory for items ordered within Australia.

Before ordering, I had emailed Elle twice to ask what fabric the dresses were, as it was not stated on their website.

The fabric was really shoddy polyester- the pattern the same, but the cut was different, and the colours were off - one colour was called Sandy Beige, yet the overall effect was pink. The other colour was called Scarlet Red, and there was red in it, but the overall effect was still bright pink.

On their website, my size was stated to fit a bust size of 119 cm, but the actual DRESS measured only 112 cm!

I have emailed them several times, and they offer 20% refund - why? when I ordered and paid for the items in good faith, and wasn’t just frivolously changing my mind?

You can’t reach them by phone. In an email, they stated that they had “done their very best for Katie” - yet they purport to be the owners of the business - therefore why not make an executive decision, apologise for sending something not as ordered, and send me the refund?

Please do not buy from Elle Melbourne - the Bourke Street Mall shop MAY be okay, I don’t know, but stuff ordered online comes from China. Customer service is non-existent.

Also beware the Closing Down Sale bullshit - they were saying ‘the sale ends tonight’ about a month ago! I note that the fabric of the Harper dress (the one I ordered, is still not listed in the web site. A complete scam - do not trust them!
