Professional and efficient
I was very impressed with Easy EPC. My initial telephone enquiry was dealt with quickly and efficiently by Sam. The assessor, Kim, contacted me the evening before the appointment to confirm timings and she arrived promptly the following day. I received the EPC on the same day as the assessment. I would definitely recommend Easy EPC!

Pleasant, efficient, but not punctual
The process was simple, pleasant and efficient and the EPC arrived quickly. Assessor was competent and quick. Only snag is she missed her appointment and we had to reschedule for the next day; a phone call to say she couldn't make it would have been nice.

Wasted 4 weeks and no EPC…
I had an Airsource heating pump put into a new build bungalow. I needed an EPC to sign off everything. I contacted easyepc on 10 April and got a price. I paid on 15 April and was sent documentation to complete. I returned all documentation on 15 April. I was told that Easyepc was doing the EPC and it would take 2 weeks. I got an email from them on 7 May asking me to complete the documentation. I replied and explained that I sent all documentation in on 15April.I made a comment that it was taking longer than expected and if they didn’t have time to scroll through emails I would resend it. I got an email on 8 May asking for my bank details and my account was closed. I had to contact easyepc three times to ask for my refund. Finally got it on 16 May. No EPC had to go to another company for it

Thank you for reaching out and we would firstly like to apologise that our customer service has fallen short this time. There is no excuse, though some background may explain why your experience was disjointed and not up to our normal standards.
Unfortunately, we recently suffered two parental bereavements within our relatively small team in quick succession, resulting in our managing director and a SAP assessor having unplanned time off, which also coincided in an unfortunate manner with the planned annual leave of other team members. This briefly put pressure on our response times for SAP and ability to process the SAPs in our normal turnaround time . This also caused some confusion with documentation handover. Whilst these issues are now fully resolved, we apologise that the fact we were suffering these issues at the time was not expressed to you initially.
I can see in our correspondence that you suggested a refund would be suitable if we could not carry the calculations out quickly enough for your requirements, which was actioned. I can see however that this was not expressed clearly enough to you, or with an adequate apology for falling short initially, and can only apologise for this now.
I can see that on 8th May you were advised your refund would be issued within 5 working days once payment has been made. Payment was processed on 9th May and you received funds on 15th May which is within the timescale we advised. When you enquired further about the timescale, we responded quickly and consistently to keep you updated and reassured, while extending our apologies.
I understand that we have not provided you with the level of customer service that we always strive for. We would like to express that this is not the norm for us, as you can see by the majority of our feedback being so positive, and hoped that it seems reasonable for us to explain in detail what went wrong on this occasion.
We always take feedback on board and will learn from this in order to help us to continue to provide the exceptional level of customer service we pride ourselves on overall.

Reasonably priced, surveyor arrived on time. Results available next day.
Importantly, easy to contact by phone. Always polite and helpful

Made the whole process of finding a EPC easy
Made the whole process of finding a EPC assessor easy without going through an estate agent with their inflated prices easy. Assessor contacted me in person to arrange a convenient date and time to call to carry out the EPC. Assessment was carried out on arranged date and ready in under 2 days, as soon as payment was made the EPC was available on the gov website to view & downlaod.

Only helpful if you know the EPC rating will be within the band you need
The rating we received was below the required standard and EasyEPC only provided computer generated recommendations that were not personalised, specific or relvant to the building. When I queried this I was told EasyEPC requires you to sign up for further 'packages' to have any explanations or personalised recommendations. This service appears to be automated and generic. My recommendation would be to choose an independent rater that you can have a conversation with.

I understand that you are frustrated that your property did not achieve the rating you required, and that the EPC auto-generated recommendations are not guaranteed to get you up to the rating you need. I can empathise with your frustration, and would like to help by explaining why the Recommendations Reports may not help you and your other options.
The Recommendation Reports that come with EPCs are a built-in part of the government approved software that all EPC assessors must use. The recommendations are generated automatically in the EPC software and the assessors have little control over them. This is a standard across the industry and not something we personally choose to do
While we, as assessors, can and do, remove obviously unsuitable automated recommendations for each property, there is no guarantee that the other automated recommendations will achieve the level of rating improvement they suggest. We find it only fair to warn customers such as yourself in advance of this, rather than you potentially installing one of these options only to be disappointed down the line.
We are well aware of the shortcomings of the auto-generated Recommendation Reports, and because of this we have created our own consultancy service, which I believe is what you’re referencing in your review. For this service, our specialised technical team creates a tailored report, providing multiple different scenarios that detail how to actually improve your building to the desired EPC rating in the most cost effective and least disruptive way possible. Also included in the price is consultation with you to discuss any specific requirements or restrictions for your specific building.
Because our consultancy involves additional modelling and processing of your building’s data, and also writing up the findings into a clear and easy to follow report, we do have to charge a fee to do so. Although this fee is nominal in comparison to installing an improvement only to find out it doesn’t get you to the rating you need.
Separately to providing consultation on future improvements, we are always very happy to discuss what went into calculating your current rating, and we never charge extra for this. Please feel free to get back to us if you would like us to discuss how your existing rating was calculated.
