Had my surgery in feb on one eye then in march for my other ,it was a great experience from start to finish. Jack performed my refractive lens exchange surgery and put me at ease straight away he was so professional and polite as were all the staff and would highly recommend them .

I chose Mr Ball to do my eye surgery after a recommendation from a close friend. I was really scared, but he put me at complete ease and Custom Vision provide a totally professional service from the minute you walk in the door until you are completely satisfied with the product. It has been a real life changer for me, consequently 3 more of my friends have followed in my footsteps.

Walking into the surgery of Mr. Ball, you are met with a smile and feel instantly welcomed and relaxed, somehow you just know you are in the right hands, the whole ambiance and the way he instantly engages with you instills trust and confidence.Time seems if no consequence, he is happy if you are happy and explains every step of what is required and what to expect along your personal journey.
In my case, surgery was not required at this moment in time, but I came out of there lifted as I knew what I had been anxious about for so long was no longer a problem,because if and when the time comes I do require surgery I need not be at all concerned because it's already sorted, there is no concern or doubt because I know what will happen and know I have a the right surgeon in whom I trust beyond all doubt.Thankyou Mr. Ball there had been concerns in the back of my mind for a long time- and now they are gone.

Had Presbyond laser surgery on both eyes 4 months ago. Having never needed glasses prior to being in my 50’s I found needing reading glasses and subsequently varifocals and varifocal contact lenses hugely unsatisfactory and frustrating, impacting on everything from work to playing sports and just enjoying the sights when out walking.
Presbyond laser surgery at Custom Vision Clinic has significantly improved my enjoyment of day to day life and that’s not an exaggeration, no need for glasses whether reading small print, attempting a high volley, driving or enjoying the view, no glasses to carry, no contacts to fiddle with etc etc.
Fantastic service, excellent staff at every point in the process, has been faultless for me, couldn’t recommend more.
Wish I’d gone to see them sooner.

I recently had cataract surgery carried out by Mr Ball and the team at Custom Vision Clinic. Mr Ball and the team who conducted my surgery were extremely professional throughout. Everything from the initial assessment right through to the post-op check was carried out with the utmost care. Everyone was very friendly and made it as stress free and smooth running as possible. I couldn’t believe the difference in my eyesight after just 24 hours! I felt quite emotional at how amazing it is and how much I can now see and with such clarity! Even my prescription glasses weren’t this good!! Thank you so much to everyone at Custom Vision Clinic for making this happen, I am very happy with the results and immensely grateful to have my vision restored to the same as in my 20’s! I wouldn’t hesitate to recommend their service to others and will definitely return to them in the future should I need further treatment in my other eye.

Day 3 following refractive lens replacement procedure on my second eye performed by James Ball. Typing this with clear vision- redundant reading glasses donated to my husband until he gets his done! Very early days but suffice to say my expectations have been exceeded. So thankful and appreciative of James and the team at Custom Vision for their explanations throughout and care and kindness during the painless, if a little scary, procedure. 🙏

The shear professionalism of all the people employed at Custom Vision was immense. The location is in a beautiful setting. The building is modern, the equipment state of the art and the whole ethos of the place has you feeling relaxed and at ease from stepping into the clinic the very first time. The staff I encountered be they at the front desk or the surgeon himself just made you feel you were safe and in a good place. I admit I was so very nervous about operations involving my eyes. But 100% I can say how happy I am now after my op and just how happy I was when attending clinics from assessments to ops to after care check ups. You just can’t get better service

I had LASIK with one of the large chains around 13 years ago which unfortunately only lasted about 5 years before deteriorating. This time round I wanted to do better research and find a specialist who would really consider which route was best for me. After my first appointment at Custom Vision I knew they were the perfect choice; the staff were so welcoming and friendly, and Nigel thoroughly looked into the different options for me. I then met with James Ball who is incredibly calming and oozes expertise. You really are in the safest hands because James is so passionate about what he does and genuinely cares about the outcome. I had ICL which was completely painless and the recovery is extremely quick with great aftercare. I would recommend custom vision to anyone!

My treatment for replacement lenses was an excellent experience and outcome. I was made to feel relaxed and now have 20 20 vision. Cannot be more happy and would recommend to anyone.

I highly recommend Custom Vision Clinic, they have been incredibly friendly, helpful and professional from my first to final appointment. I had SMILE laser eye treatment in April last year, during the procedure I was made to feel comfortable and well looked after by the surgeon, Mr Ball and all the other staff. The after care was superb. I’m very happy with the results from my treatment, it really has changed my life for the better.

30/11/2023 yesterday I was booked in for yag capsulotomy treatment, on arrival everybody were so friendly &attenatative professional. Fantastic environment which made me very relaxed, then going in to see mr James ball quick check talking he made me feel so reassured answering any questions into the next room, laser treatment over in a matter of minutes brilliant. Nothing to worry about at all. Onto today woke up eye feels normal but the best thing in the world opening the curtains and the clarity of everything outside amazing and to reading it’s like a new pair of eyes brilliant thanks 🙏 again James to you and your team made my year . I underwent 2 ICL procedures in October 2022 following a recommendation to use Custom Vision Clinic.

From the initial consultation, through to the surgery and post operative care, Mr Ball and his team have been exceptional.

This was my first ever surgery so I was somewhat hesitant in the lead up to my first appointment. However, Mr Ball put me at ease and answered the myriad of questions that I had before I decided to proceed.

The procedure itself was very straightforward and my vision was perfect the next day. I have had no issues since (1 year later) and I can (and do) thoroughly recommend Custom Vision Clinic to anyone requiring eye surgery.

Their aftercare is very thorough and I have been back on several occasions to check on my progress with no issues.

From my first appointment I knew I had made the right decision. I had lens replacement surgery on both eyes , 1week apart. Iv since had further appointments and each time its been professional and actually a good experience. From day 1 everything has been properly explained and I really couldn't be happier!
I researched for a good few weeks because obviously it's your eyesight. The other companies didn't instill any real confidence in me. James Ball is the best and so are his team.
Love going for something to eat at the 'driving club's aswell!
Seriously I carnt thank them enough, my sight is amazing.

I was VERY nervous and have been talking about but putting off for years but after having a consultation with Mr James Ball I knew that if ever I was going to go through with it it had to be here.

Worth a read if you are debating eye surgery and also a bit of a worrier like me! I had ICL surgery by Dr Jack Gormley in August 2023 and now, 5 weeks post-surgery, I feel I have to let people know just how brilliant the experience is.

I am 31 and finally made the decision to fix my -5 short-sightedness once and for all, after being a full time contact lens wearer since I was 16. I researched and deliberated for quite some time, but many opticians themselves, as well as others who had friends in the eye health sector, all recommended Custom Vision Clinic.

I originally visited with the intention of wanting laser eye surgery (as that's all I really had heard of) but it turned out my eyes weren't suitable for a couple of key reasons, so Jack explained he would not be able to progress with laser since it wouldn't be in my best long-term eye health interest. I really appreciated the transparency and genuine care for my long term eye health! I was therefore offered the alternative of Implantable Contact Lenses (ICLs) which would not only provide me greater clarity in the vision result, but also limit adverse effects on my long term eye health.

After a brief cooling off period to have a think about my options (they are not pushy AT ALL which I really appreciated) I decided to book in for the ICL surgery. I definitely spent A LOT of time thinking in the run up to the op about the nature of the procedure and the unknown, risks etc because I am quite an overthinker and worrier by nature, but I genuinely had nothing to worry about. I had further calls with Jack to talk through any concerns or questions in advance of the op and so went in feeling full prepared and reassured.

The actual op is completely painless (seriously, it is!) and only took about 8 minutes and Jack coached me through the whole thing, speaking calmly and allowing me to fully relax and focus on my breathing. Plus the chair/bed thing is super comfy! With ICLs it is done one eye at a time a week apart, but you can wear a contact lens in the other eye in the middle of them to get by. So its completely manageable!

The aftercare is brilliant, you are totally looked after post the op in terms of medication, recovery guidance and any random questions or worries you have. Jack is so patient and understanding and really has been a star, along with the rest of the staff there who also look after you throughout the process.

I now have better than 20:20 vision which is insane!! I'm still getting my head round it, especially waking up in the morning with perfect vision! But I am truly grateful to all the staff at Custom Vision Clinic and Dr Jack Gormley for their expert work and care.

I have recently had cataract surgery to both eyes and all I can say is WOW.
i was extremely anxious about the surgery as I knew I would be a more complicated case due to a pre existing health condition and very short sighted in both eyes.
I was seen and had lots of tests carried out before my initial consultation with Mr Jack Gormley.
The consultation was professional and the desired outcome was to improve my distance vision to enable me to reconnect with my love of driving.

Both operations were carried out by Jack and his expertise shone through. I am now six weeks post op and no complications from ether surgery, my distance vision is excellent and I only need reading glasses when reading or using the phone this was better than either of us thought would be the outcome. I am over the moon!

All staff I have met have been professional and very welcoming. From initial consultation right through to after care communication and care has been excellent.

Whilst I was recommended to not have lens replacements by James on this assessment, I felt I had to leave a review based on my experience of the assessment.
I had about 7 different scans on the different machines for my eyes, I'm 52 and near sight is an issue along with close up soldering work, I wanted a more permanent solution other than reading glasses.
The team that did the initial scans were extremely friendly and informed me what every machine was doing.
Then I had the consult with James, it turns out my eyes are exceptional from around 1 metre on (and on and on!) and so to have laser or lens surgery at this stage wouldnt give a great benefit over managing reading glasses. However a 5 year time frame to return might mean that my eyes have deteriorated to such a point whereby this would indeed benefit.
James's knowledge and advice was second to none and although the advice was to not have surgery at the moment, I will, without hesitation be returning to see James and the team in 4 to 5 years time!

In the safest of hands 🙏🏻 I was apprehensive ....... actually extremely nervous about having the procedure but I had no cause for concern. The procedure is a 10 mins painless surgery that is easily tolerated, even by a very nervous patient like myself. Mr James Ball and his excellent team put you at your ease and carry out the procedure in a calm and reassuring manner. It truly is amazing surgery resulting in glasses free vision. I'm in the early days of recovery but all is going according to plan just two weeks post surgery, amazing! Looking forward to realising the full potential of the procedure moving forward.
