Thank you so much for completing the sale of my house and liaising with my solicitor in Scotland regarding my purchase there. You made it all seem easy !

Used Cunningtons when we bought our home and all seemed fine. Now years later we are trying to sell our house and it comes to light that Cunningtons did not ensure that a hold placed on the house from the previous owners was removed. This is now causing us significant issues as we try to sell.

My current solicitors reached out to Cunningtons for help in this matter but the reply from Cunningtons was that they are not willing to help because it was too long ago. To me this sounds more like, we don't want to help because it's just not worth the effort.

Based on this reaction from a previous customer that needs some assistance, i would not recommend Cunningtons at all.

Even though we bought our house more than 6 years ago, i will be contacting the Ombudsman to investigate.

By far the worst solicitors I have ever used. Everyone is aware that buying/selling a home is stressful, but Cunningtons made it more stressful than I could ever imagine. They were rude, incompetent, non-responsive and slow. They couldn't even get our names correct on multiple legal documents and in order to get things across the line, I ended up having to proof check their work for them and write a letter asking them to copy and paste onto their letterhead and sign (because they couldn't figure it out themselves). I raised a complaint which wasn't handled correctly. Absolutely disgraceful service and will be advising absolutely everyone to avoid.

As first time buyers we have had the best experience with Cunningtons. Charlotte Allington at the Braintree branch was extremely helpful and always got back to emails quickly.

Would definitely recommend their services.

In contrast to 2 other solicitors we have recently used for conveyancing Danielle Simkins at the Braintree branch afforded us exceptional service. She was always available courteous and efficient.We felt the fee charged was very competitive with no additional fees on completion.We thoroughly recommend and would use your services again.

I would not recommend Cunningtons for conveyancing services.

My complaint is the lack or incorrect information provided throughout the sale and purchase of our houses. This situation caused me to have anxiety attacks.
I was not given advice or solutions just problems throughout the enquiry stages. To the point where I had more information from my buyers solicitor than my own solicitor, Danielle in Braintree.

On several occasions I couldn’t reach anyone or even leave a message.
Sadly, on the day of exchange I had to ring my agent because I couldn’t speak to anyone in Cunningtons except the receptionist! Many of the agents were complaining to me about the lack of responses from my solicitor.
It was one of the most stressful experiences I've ever had.

I am writing this review because I feel strongly that my solicitor seemed to be struggling under workload and the company did not support her or provide addition help. I did lodge a complaint but was rewarded with trite and barely concealed contempt. This is my opinion which I hope is fair and a clear account of my experience.

Both Charlotte and Stephanie provided a first class service for both the sale and purchase of the properties. Instructions were clear and most enquiries promptly handled. I rarely had to chase them for information. The formalities were completed very quickly compared to many property transactions of which I've been aware. Furthermore I found their pricing to be very open and competitive. Where we were requested to pay additional costs these were explained very clearly. They were also very helpful in guiding us through the indemnities that were required.

I honestly cannot recommend Rachel from Cunningtons (Chelmsford) enough. From start to finish she was professional, helpful and knowledgeable in the sale and purchase of my properties. She remained calm throughout the 8 month process and I am so pleased I used her. I wish there were more people who are as hardworking as her. 10/10

I cannot recommend Rachel at Cunningtons enough. We had an incredibly stressful house move that had various problems outside of any of our control. Rachel answered the phone or responded to emails quickly, without fail, clearly explained what was going on and gave brilliant advice. She was organised, thought ahead and kept us updated. We have recommended her and Cunningtons to our parents and would recommend them to anyone moving house.

Cunningtons recently assisted me with my house purchase (first time buyer). Paul was recommended to me by a Family Member for his professionalism, I must say...he exceeded expectations. Paul himself and other members of the team were responsive, helpful and made me feel at ease throughout the whole process. I highly recommend this firm.

It was a complicated house purchase involving several titles and Kate Horsted handle it very efficiently, keeping us updated at all times and ensuring that our questions to the vendors were answered in full.

I used Cunningtons to act on my behalf for two things:

1. To transfer my house back into my sole name as part of divorce proceeding
2. For a re-mortgage.

Due to my ex being non-compliant (Even with a final order and tight deadlines) the job that Ahilan and Jovairia had was not easy to say the least. But they acted promptly and professionally, sometimes going beyond their roles and what is reasonable expected of a conveyancing solicitor. I will always be grateful to them for assisting me and finally getting the keys back to my home.
