I have had a fantastic experience using Connectd to grow my startup, AskMedi. The platform has been incredibly effective at facilitating introductions to high-calibre advisors and talent who truly understand the challenges of scaling a business.

Through Connectd, I’ve been able to connect with exceptional individuals like Martyn, Jackie, Rupert, Gulnara, Laia, and Sonia. Each introduction has allowed me to tap into specific, valuable expertise that has been pivotal for our growth and strategic direction. Connectd has also enabled us to add new energy to our existing team, which we truly need for our bold launch in the UK and overseas. The team at Connectd is proactive, supportive, and genuinely invested in the success of the founders on their platform. I highly recommend Connectd to any founder looking to build a strong, high-impact advisory board.

The platform itself functions very well. The Connectd site, and the learning site are not over-complicated, but still provide near-comprehensive coverage of everything you might need to do, from just your mobile device.
Since I joined the platform has been updated, and now enables functionality previously not provided, which shows it continues to improve over time - without breaking on major updates.
The staff I have interacted with at Connectd have been friendly, and attentive, and my mentor has already provided me with valuable insights.
I think you have to put a decent amount of effort in yourself to enable the potential of the platform, which is something that is reiterated throughout onboarding.

I wanted to like Connectd, but unfortunately my overall experience was disappointing.

To be fair, the mentoring aspect was the strongest part of the programme. I was matched with a mentor who was knowledgeable, generous with his time, and genuinely helpful. I have nothing but positive things to say about that part of the experience.

The company placement side, however, was a different story.

The first company I was introduced to never followed up after the initial introduction, despite me chasing it. The second company held an introductory meeting and said they would get back to me, but they never did. I fully understand that companies may decide not to proceed—that's perfectly normal.

What wasn't acceptable was Connectd treating those introductions as though the service had been successfully delivered. Even after I explained through their own check-in process that nothing had progressed, those placements appeared to be marked as fulfilled. It felt as though making an introduction, regardless of the outcome, was enough for Connectd to tick the box.

By the end of the programme, I told their team that I hadn't received the value I had hoped for and that I was glad to close that chapter. I paid what I understood to be my final instalment and requested a final account statement.

I continued to have access to the platform afterwards and would occasionally receive notifications or messages when I expressed interest in opportunities. I assumed this was normal, much like platforms such as Quantic, where you retain access after completing a paid programme. Since the platform is essentially a networking and opportunity marketplace, I had no reason to believe that simply retaining access meant I had an ongoing paid subscription.

Months later, I received an email stating that my subscription would continue under my "existing membership terms," followed by an attempted £144 charge to my card. I had never agreed to renew, so this came as a complete surprise.

I'm now having to challenge the attempted renewal and ask Connectd to explain why they believed they were entitled to charge me again.

The mentor was excellent, but the placement process, the way outcomes were represented, and the subsequent billing experience have left me with very little confidence in the company.

Unfortunately, I cannot recommend Connectd based on my experience.

Highly recommend Connectd. We were matched and paired with a great fractional advisor. The Connectd team did a great job in onboarding us, learning about our company, needs and future state plans. I have recommended this organization to a few folks searching for fractional work and startups looking for specialized professionals. We successfully launched our company and platform as a result of the direction and know how from our advisor.

I had a terrible experience. From day dot my first call was sales and pushy. The second, with was appalling. He repeated virtually all the same questions and delivered what felt like exactly the same scripted sales pitch, as though my first call had never happened. They then pushed hard for me to sign up. I politely requested two references from satisfied customers. His attitude immediately changed: he refused, aggressively challenged why I wanted references, became defensive and combative, accused me of being rude and spoke to me in an extremely hostile and confrontational manner. He then abruptly ended the call. I was genuinely stunned by his behaviour.


Connectd’s refusal to provide even 1 reference made me seriously question whether it has any happy customers willing to independently vouch for the service. If its success stories are so plentiful, why was a basic due-diligence request met with such hostility?


I subsequently found concerning negative experiences on both Trustpilot and Google most recent reviews, reinforcing my concerns. My advice is simple: avoid!

Connectd provided an excellent academic grounding in the skillset required to advise a company at board level.
The course was well presented and the documentation useful for future reference. My mentor Lenna Lou was brilliant and provided so much good advice for making the best of the platform.

I have had an amazing experience with Connectd. Met my cofounder and assembled an advisory board using the platform. I highly recommend Connected for startups and people looking to scale.

Approached on LinkedIn, call booked and after 15mins asking for £2,400 + 20% VAT to work 6 months for free with no guarantee of work after. That's also the MINIMUM package.

No mention at all on LinkedIn or anywhere visible on website there is a cost. I'm sure they will respond that its on some random page with 0 SEO in fine print 5px.

I'd call them sewer rats but that would be offensive to sewer rats.

Person didn't show up for planned meeting/intro session. Still no email, no notice, no apology, etc.
Don't waste your time.

I am thrilled to share my experience with Connectd as I embark on my journey as a Board Advisor. From the very first interaction, the team at Connectd has been incredibly supportive and knowledgeable. What impressed me enormously was the seriousness of the individuals who engaged with me as a potential Advisor, Fractional and even pro bono. I was blown away with the fact that all of them, without exception had done their homework and can prepared to our discussions. It goes without saying that we will be inviting one or more to become part of our organization and that we will turn to Connectd every time we have need across the the US or EU

Connectd have provided a great service, helping me connect to two senior advisors, one of whom went on to provide excellent fractional support, filling in a CMO role for us as we scale. Went to an event they through and met a bunch of great folks too. Good stuff.

Connectd offers a well-thought-through platform for seasoned professionals who are either seriously thinking about transitioning to working on a fractional basis (what used to be known as a portfolio career) or as an NED or Board Advisor. You can choose one of these three pathways and structurally the delivery of pathways are the same: you need to complete 10-20 hours of online training before "unlocking" access to your mentor and pro-bono placement. Some people may not like the structure but, for me, I liked it a lot as it follows a logical pattern and the training is set at an appropriate level: deep enough to question why you want this transition and make sure you are readying yourself for it but not too deep or technical to put someone new to this area off of it.

In my experience: as soon as I completed the training I received a call from Connectd the very next day with the offer of a pro-bono placement. I was paired with a a high-performing, second time founder who was an expert in her field - as a CFO/Finance lead I was able to add value from day 1. Connectd also has a good range of mentors who you can pair with to support you through your placement and beyond as you look to take on new roles and work opportunities. It is not an easy path and Connectd does not claim that it is but I believe it's one of the most structured platforms to try and help you make this transition on the market. You will also find a lot of start-up businesses on the platform that you can approach as well as some job opportunities.

My only complaint is that Connectd I found the follow-up/ongoing support from during my placement to be inadequate but I understand that this resourcing here is being improved - I was close to knocking the score to a 4* as a result but overall Connectd have delivered on my (high) expectations which is why I gave it 5.

Early in the engagement, I was paired with a mentor who was unreliable from the start. They didn't follow through on commitments and missed a scheduled meeting entirely, with no notice or explanation.

Connectd's support also fell far short of expectations. In my last meeting with my main point of contact, the call ended with him committing to several action items he'd follow up on. Months went by without a word. The only time anyone reached out was when my auto-renewal was about to trigger, and it was only after I replied asking to cancel that they suddenly wanted to hop on a call. After more back and forth over email, their final message to me was "I'll raise your case with our team to see if there's anything else we can do." Two months later, I still haven't heard back.

Across the entire engagement, I never received the support I was promised and paid for. Nothing was done to set me up for success. It felt like a money grab with no follow-through. Based on my experience, it was a complete waste of money and I can't recommend it.

Honestly can't imagine starting a start up without them.

The programme was well structured, with clear, practical and engaging learning materials that provided valuable insights into the role of a board advisor. It has given me a strong foundation as I embark on this new journey.

One of the things that really stood out was the Connectd community and the opportunity to benefit from the programme’s one to one mentoring. I’m looking forward to meeting my mentors, learning from their experience and continuing to develop as I build my advisory career.
