Booked a transfer with Con-X-ion..

Booked a transfer with Con-X-ion expecting a smooth arrival… got the opposite.

Despite booking a pickup within an hour of landing, I was told I’d be waiting around for up to four hours. No flexibility, no real effort to help, just “that’s how it is.”

To make it worse, when I couldn’t wait that long and had to organise alternative transport, there was no refund offered. Left completely out of pocket.

Ended up stranded at Ballina Airport after a flight, trying to sort last-minute transport myself while they still kept my money.

Really disappointing experience. Poor service, zero accountability, and no support when it actually mattered. Wouldn’t recommend.

Very disappointed

A disgrace! We could forgive the driver being 20 minutes late to pick us up. What I can’t forgive is the terrible service that occurred afterwards. I left my jacket on the bus. Despite numerous phone calls to get the jacket back and offers to pay for delivery where were staying or paying for postage I was told that was not possible as I had to sign a form upon collection. We were an hour drive away so I hired a car. Upon collecting the jacket they new nothing about a form to sign or any offers for payment to have the jacket forwarded. Look for other means of transport!

Where is the zero star option?!?
This is my first negative review ever, but the way this situation was handled was so shocking that I feel it’s important to share.
My two sons (ages 19 and 21) booked an airport transfer with this company while planning a trip from the United States to Australia. They had saved throughout the year to pay for this trip themselves, so the cost of the transfer was meaningful to them.
When their international flight was canceled and rerouted unexpectedly, something completely outside their control, we did our best to cancel the booking as quickly as possible. I first emailed the company within about 20 hours prior to the scheduled service, explaining the situation, but received NO response. Because of the lack of reply after several hours, I ended up calling their office from the U.S., which resulted in a $72 international phone charge, because I was placed on hold for prolonged periods, only then to talk to the most defensive reps of all time.
I explained (very calmly) that the boys had saved for this trip and that we had tried to cancel as soon as the flight issue occurred. I was hoping they might show some understanding or flexibility.
Instead, I was told that my attempt to explain the situation was considered “harassment.” I have honestly never been spoken to that way by a customer service representative in my life. Their response was rude, WEIRD, dismissive, and unnecessarily aggressive.
I fully understand that companies have policies. What I cannot understand is the lack of basic professionalism when speaking to a customer who was simply trying to resolve a situation caused by an airline disruption.
The representative’s decision to accuse me of “harassment” simply for asking about a refund showed an astonishing level of oversensitivity and was entirely inappropriate in what was a calm and reasonable conversation. It was almost comical how absurdly defensive these people are!

AVOID this company at all costs.

This was a catastrophic failure

This was a catastrophic failure by Gold Coast Airport bus service. My elderly parents, one with dementia, arrived early for their 11:00pm ride. Apparently, they called them before the bus was due to depart, but since their phones were off, the bus just left. Despite my frantic phone calls, the driver never returned. The driver even claimed to have left at 11:05pm, which is impossible, as my phone records show I called them at 11:04pm and Mum said they were there 20 minutes prior. This is a shocking disregard for safety and duty of care. I do not recommend this service to anyone.

Not reliable, do NOT trust.

We had to book a last minute Uber to avoid missing our flight, which cost us extra on top of the original booking.
To make it worse, customer service focused on “investigating what happened” instead of issuing an immediate refund for a service that was never provided. Really disappointing experience from start to finish. I would not rely on this company if you have a flight to catch.

Cruise Terminal drop off

we arranged for Con-x-ion to pick us up and take us to the cruise terminal, what can i say faultess, they loaded all the bags, and were prompt with all the times and all the staff were very friendly, would book again.

Terrible customer service! Put me on the 11am bus I said I don’t want to wait almost 2 hours please refund me and I’ll Uber, they won’t refund even tho they can’t deliver the service, I asked to speak to a manager and the lady on the phone wouldn’t not let me…

Rudest midnight bus driver named Vince

Dear Con-x-ion Customer Service Team,

I am writing to formally lodge a complaint regarding unacceptable and discriminatory conduct by one of your drivers, Vince, during a scheduled transfer on 24 December 2025 (Christmas Eve) from Brisbane Airport to the Gold Coast.

We booked our bus transfer in October 2025 for the 10:30 pm service on 24/12/25. Due to a flight delay, our plane arrived at 11:40 pm. As Con-x-ion commonly accommodates delayed flights, we rushed to catch the midnight service, which was the last bus available.

When we approached the bus, the driver identified himself as Vince. We politely asked if we could board. His first question was our destination, and I advised Surfers Paradise. He responded abruptly that he was “only going to Southport” and refused to drive to Surfers Paradise. I immediately said this was not a problem and that we were happy to be dropped off at Southport and make our own way from there.

Despite this, he then stated that he “did not have our names.” I showed him our valid booking for the 10:30 pm service. He then said there was “no space on the bus.”

At the same time, another passenger, Michael, was speaking to Vince and explained that he and his wife were unable to travel due to luggage issues and were enquiring about a refund. Vince stated loudly, in front of us, that an Uber would cost them around $300 because it was after midnight on Christmas Eve. Michael acknowledged this and accepted the situation.

Despite now clearly having available space, Vince still refused to take us, without justification. His manner was rude, dismissive, and, in our view, racially discriminatory. His behaviour made it clear that he simply did not want to assist us. When I told him calmly that his actions were damaging the good reputation that Con-x-ion has worked hard to build, he showed complete indifference and appeared to take satisfaction in our distress.

This incident left us stranded late at night on Christmas Eve, causing significant stress and distress, and completely ruined the start of our Christmas after a long and demanding year of work.

We consider this behaviour to be:

- Unprofessional
- Discriminatory
- A serious breach of customer service standards

We expect this complaint to be fully investigated, and we request:

1. A written explanation of what occurred
2. Confirmation of what action will be taken regarding the driver
3. Appropriate compensation for the distress and inconvenience caused

We will continue to pursue this matter until it is addressed properly, as no customer should ever be treated this way—especially on Christmas Eve.

We look forward to your prompt response.

⭐️ 1 star – utterly unacceptable service
Con-X-Ion managed to turn a minor flight delay into a complete travel nightmare. Despite being informed six hours in advance that our flight would be delayed by just 15 minutes, they refused to pick us up. Fifteen minutes. Not hours. Not a cancellation. Fifteen minutes.
Apparently, flexibility and basic customer service are not part of their business model.
To make matters worse, we were explicitly promised a refund within one week. That promise has now stretched to weeks later, with no refund and no meaningful communication. At this point, it feels less like an oversight and more like deliberate stalling.
If you’re considering this company, be warned: if anything deviates even slightly from plan (as flights often do), you may be left stranded and out of pocket. Reliability, accountability, and honesty are the bare minimum for a transport company — and Con-X-Ion failed on all three.
I would strongly advise looking elsewhere.

⭐☆☆☆☆ Zero-Star Review – Do Not Use This Company

I arrived at the waiting area at 10:20am for my booked transfer. No staff appeared, no names were called, no announcements were made, and I received no call or text.

At 10:40am, I was told the bus had already departed — without any attempt to locate or notify me. When I called Con-X-Ion to fix their mistake, the staff member was dismissive and hung up on me instead of rebooking me.

When a bus finally arrived later, the driver did not announce the destination or call passengers. I only boarded because I personally approached him. Otherwise, I would have been stranded again.

This company has no functioning SOPs, no communication, and no professionalism. An airport transfer operator that cannot identify or notify its own passengers deserves a zero-star rating. Avoid entirely.

Terrible service

Terrible service, paying almost $80 per way, to keep you going around and around picking up people, 2:30 minutes from gold coast to brisbane arriving super late to the airport. Unacceptable, is a robbery , do not go with them they are unreliable

Wow a $118 for one person to get from…

Wow a $118 for one person to get from Southport to Brisbane International. The bus was absolutely packed, I couldn't sit back in my chair, had to sit forward, real comfortable for a 2hr trip, yep 2 hrs. Driver was rude, my things were thrown in back of bus, I had a neck pillow for flight attached to bag, lost in back of bus. Bus was dirty and how did it pass rego?

Clue is in the name 'Con'

Clue is in the name 'Con' ! i wish i had read these reviews before we booked, hopefully this will help someone else. We booked a shuttle from Doonan to Brisbane international airport, given instructions to be at the gate 5:15am, no one had turned up by 5:45am so we rang the office, got Nelly who was absolutely no help just kept telling us the time had changed & said it was 5 min away. We rang again at 6am, had a hopeless exchange with someone else and Nelly in the background ranting and raving (very professional). the van turned up eventually at 6:14am driven by David, when we asked (politely) why it was so late he said "not my problem" he was aggressive and nasty and kept wanting to show us his manifest to prove he was right - clearly too thick to realise that his manifest did not help us! I can only conclude it must be an absolutely rubbish company to work for to have such unhelpful people that don't care if their customers have a good experience or not. Mis-communication happens but at least own up and take responsibility for it. would never use again and would actively discourage anyone else from risking their ineptitude.

Bus driver did not collect me

Bus driver did not collect me. Booked from surfers paradise transit centre. Rang the help desk to ask where to be collected and they didn’t appear to know. We had one person in the transit centre (where the website claims pickup is from) and one person in the road (where they had said pickup was on the phone). We waited in the transit centre for 45 minutes (we arrived 20 minutes before the scheduled window) and the driver did not collect. The driver claimed to have called. The company had the correct phone number because the confirmation text was received. They also had another number from which the help line call was from. The driver did not go to the transit centre to call my name. Instead they picked up from a road near the transit centre. The company needs to include a specific pickup location that is accurate, or they need to pick up from the location that they provide. I would recommend including a star on a map to include a specific pickup location. The pickup is not from the transit centre, it is from a nearby road. Appalling service. I did notice the greyhound bus did arrive and picked up their customers. The tram and train also ran correctly, so perhaps they are better options. Con X ion also did not offer to rectify their mistake. Instead they offered to put me on a bus 2 hours later, which would potentially lead to missing the flight

Room for Improvement

As with many 'on-line' services - booking and paying is easy and efficient. However, this does is not always reflected in the actual product.
My pickup was late at least 10 minutes ouside the requested window - fortunately the weather was mild and dry !
The driver did not appear to have good local knowledge - did not follow the most direct route. The scheduled pick up could not be met due to flight delays. The Kiosk was unmanned and an enquiry via the 1300 # resulted in incorrect information - no alternate booking was recorded and the nest shuttle was fully booked. fortunately ther were 2 no shows and seats for myself and another stranded passenger. were accommodated. The seating space was inadeqate for the 4 adults squeezed into the rear seat ! The driver was helpful and did his best to smoth ruffled feathers . Vehicle assignment should allow for contingencies - allow at leat 10% spare space. Kev Maroochydore
