Worst bitcoin mining operations
When I started my bitcoin mining operation, I never imagined that a company with such a poor delivery could possibly exist. How it is possible for them to still stay in business is a mystery.
Initially I placed an order for 6 miners. It practically took them 700 days to get all 6 miners fully operational (due to constant re-location issues). After a few months of fairly stabe operations, I have now been notified that they want to re-locate 3 miners again - with 6 weeks of downtime. I will see it before I believe it.

By far one of the worst companies to work with. Stay away at all costs. The constantly re-locate your miners (then make you forfeit your deposit if you want to terminate the contract). For example, in May 2024 they are moving the miners to another location and estimate a new start time of August. They had ASICs seized in Russia. They had poor hosting facilities in Georgia, South Carolina, and every other state. Stay away from Compass at all costs. Their uptime is around 50%.
AVOID - barely touches the scam
- They took several months from their time of deployment for all ASICs, affecting the good price before halving. I'm talking about 2022
- I would say only 1% of the time I've had all my miners online at the same time. There's always a miner off.
- I had several miners offline for months. Some of them more than 10 months. Support does nothing, just saying "it's still in progress".
Biggest scam in BTC space. Customer support is non-existent
Customer support is non-existent. Takes weeks to reply, and months to actually get your miner back running. They have zero interest in keeping your miner running, but very interested in selling you a miner at the beginning. Avoid.
Compassmining's Broken Promises and Failed Investments
I invested a substantial $80,000 in Compassmining. However, my experience has been nothing short of a nightmare, and I feel compelled to warn others about their deceptive practices and utter disregard for their customers.
After forking over my hard-earned money, I eagerly awaited the returns promised by Compassmining's enticing marketing. Yet, my miners have been offline for a staggering year now, leaving me with nothing but frustration and regret. To add insult to injury, I recently received an email notifying me that all of my miners are irreparably broken and beyond repair.
Instead of offering a reasonable solution or taking responsibility for their malfunctioning equipment, Compassmining had the audacity to propose a ludicrous "solution": pay an additional $3,000 per miner to upgrade or exchange three broken units for one newer model. Are they serious? Not only did their service fail to deliver as promised, but now they want to squeeze even more money out of their already disgruntled customers.
This experience has left me feeling cheated and disillusioned. How can a company expect its clients to continue investing when they can't even uphold their end of the bargain? It's clear that Compassmining cares more about padding their pockets than ensuring the satisfaction and success of their investors.
At this point, I'm left wondering if there's any recourse for individuals like myself who have been taken advantage of by Compassmining. Is it possible to pursue legal action to at least recoup some of the funds lost to this sham of a service? Has anyone else in the community faced similar issues, and if so, how have you dealt with them?
In conclusion, I urge anyone considering investing with Compassmining to proceed with extreme caution. Don't be fooled by their promises of high returns and seamless operations. Behind their slick marketing lies a company that fails to deliver on its commitments and leaves its customers high and dry. Save yourself the headache and explore other investment opportunities with companies that actually prioritize their clients' success and satisfaction.

Always great service.
Always great service.
Yes, miners have downtime due to power curtailment, but Compass doesn't control this. Compass will credit the account if a miner is down for some time. Depending on the current price of BTC, it may not cover the entire amount of lost income from the miner actually hashing.
I haven't found a better hosting company, and I definitely don't want these miners running at my home, paying $0.11 kWh.

Terrible Company
Miners are constantly down, repairs that should take a week take literally 3-4 months, they've moved my miner twice, once without my permission... Now, less than a month after they charged me $500 to repair my miner they send me an email telling me they will not allow me to renew my contract due to "market conditions and miner age"... scam!
Smooth and easy equipment upgrade…
Smooth and easy equipment upgrade facilitated by Account Manager Colby Noe with good communication from customer service throughout. Zero downtime in my hashrate!

Took a very long time to get miners online. Electricity price kept increasing. They took miners offline and kept the mining proceeds, but expected me to pay for all the electricity during that period. They do not follow the law as to UCC remedies.

I invested $50k in 4 S19 Pro 100TH miners since 2022. It took 6 months for them to start running after the initial investment. However, they only ran for a few days before shutting down. Correspondence via email took up a lot of time. Overall, the running time of the miners was significantly less than the downtime. So far, I've earned about $7k, not including increasing hosting fees and occasional repair costs. It's exhausting. I'd rather have spent $50k buying Bitcoin; I might have made a profit. The company lacks credibility.
I trusted what they said initially, so I boldly placed my money in their hands, hoping for mutual benefit, but I was wrong. I lost sleep worrying about it. I still paid the hosting fees promptly when they sent me a bill, but they kept making promises month after month while my machines were not operational.
I’m an entrepreneur and peace advocate…
I’m an entrepreneur and peace advocate and appreciate being able to participate in mining Bitcoin without having to fix the machines or run them - Compass has had top notch customer support - especially my go to Bitcoin guy John Degnan - I mean even his name is cool (reminds of iconic Wes Anderson character Dignan from Bottle Rocket) but the whole team has been quick to get back to me and to help fix or repair my machines

The miners are almost always offline
The miners are almost always offline. Bought 6 miners that went online about a year after the scheduled date, they mined for about 1 year (constantly on and off, almost never had all 6 online). My $50k investment turned $16k (just thank to Bitcoin price going up) and now with the halving coming up the miners are obsolete. Don’t get scammed
Such a disappointing experience
My miner has been offline for over a year. When I ask about it, weeks go by before I get a response. I have checked in consistently during this time and have had very general responses stating my machine is being fixed. How has it taken a year to get fixed? The machine was expensive and now with the halving, it is such a loss. I am so disappointed with my experience with Compass. I have gone to a different company to continue mining and have all but lost hope for the machine I have with them. They recently said they would request a temporary miner for me (though they are still waiting on a response)- why wasn't that brought up a year ago as an option?
Compassmining is a shady company...
Compassmining is a shady company with criminally liable practices. I hope my story can serve as a warning and strong deterrent to anyone wishing to give them business.
I have been dealing with issues ever since I bought miners totaling over 30,000 usd from them. I will try to list all of the shady things they have done. I will probably miss a few since there's been so many.
1. My miners went offline a few months after purchase. Customer service could do nothing for me no matter how many tickets I opened up. I was offline for 10 months. The energy rates went up twice during that period.
2. They advertise energy contracts per year, but in reality they increase rates whenever they see fit. So my monthly bill went up twice before I ever started hashing again.
3. They told me that one of my miners went from a Texas facility to Oklahoma and that it was being cleaned. It mined for 20 days and then went offline again. When I asked what happened, they said the Oklahoma operation was being shut down and my miner would be sent for cleaning again, even though it had just been cleaned. Many more months went by without hashing anything.
4. They want me to believe improbabilities like all 3 of my s19j pro miners failed beyond repair, precisely and conveniently just after their warranty was up. There's so many things wrong with this. Up until that point they had no idea where my miners were, but all of a sudden they found them and knew they were beyond repair...okay. Also, s19jpro are known to be good working miners with a very low failure rates, but they want me to believe all 3 of my new miners failed, even though they only mined for a few months before going offline.
5. They "kindly" replaced my new, now dead, miners with who knows what miners. Don't know how old or in what condition. They also stopped taking phone calls and now only answer through tickets, sporadically.
6. Some monthly Invoices do not add up correctly. Someone in customer service finally decided to investigate further...and my invoices went up even more lol.
7. When I asked for my miners to be shipped to me, I told them to remove the monthly invoices for April since they should not be mining for much longer. Each miner's invoice is roughly 180ish dollars, so 540 dollars should have been removed from my invoices. Only 378 dollars was removed. There's always something shady with them.
This has been years in the making. I have tried to be patient and understand that every company has issues, but now I sincerely believe that there are shady practices going on with this company. From the many complaints and bad reviews across different sites, there's just too much evidence. I have finally given up and they have made an enemy out of a once loyal customer. I have all the emails, from all the issues and now I will spread my terrible experience as far and wide as I can. Do not do business with this company, you will regret it.
5 months of down time
5 months of down time, since Nov 2023, and still just lip service from Compass. I can't even request they ship it back to me, location is "somewhere" in Texas. Terrible management, horrible customer service; really expensive ASIC, I will never break even on this investment. Run, don't walk, away!
50% downtime!!
I bought a miner from Compass 2-3 years ago. The number of outages have been excessive. Looking at my payouts over the past 12 months, the miner was offline for at least 50% of the year. HALF!! They had one job - keep my miner mining.
BTC miners have a limited shelf life as we approach halvlngs and more powerful miners come to market.
Compass have completely failed me.

Lack of transparency
Unfortunately a very bad experience, a frustrating lack of transparency.
I bought a miner operating in Ontario, frankly overpriced, over promises like "yes it costs more than twice the market price, Sir, but hey, we're here, we will ship it mount it maintain it etc."
Let's hold that thought for a second.
The miner remains up for somewhat year with constant downs - one maybe can expect that with all the crackdown on these mining businesses, sustainability, droughts, etc. - when suddenly just before the contract expires the miner goes down inexorably for no reason.
I'm told, after a few persistent messages, that the miner had performance problems and needs to be reconfigured: well, do it then, it's still under contract, isn't it?
"Ah no, it takes about $500 for those things to be done"
I think about it, a little pissed off, finally I tell them: yeah ok, go ahead, do the reconfiguration and bill it to me. In the meantime their sales dept shows up to propose a mining contract renewal with a purchase new miners, cause it's better performance, etc. I refuse and keep my miner on the same conditions. Why invest more if you are not already such a reliable partner?
Bottomline, the miner never comes back up, it's been almost a year since the contract was renewed, I had to open new tickets to figure out "where the hell is my miner, are you fixing it finally or did it fall into the hands of some Canadian bear?". I have no answers until I ask them to ship it to my home and terminate the contract.
Then I finally get an answer: they make me sign a withdrawal agreement from the contract and that they will ship the miner to me. Again for the usual $500 USD.
They also add "oh, and you have to pay the electricity bills until the shipping happens". Well that's going to be easy, the miner has been down for almost a year..
Anyways, I'm exhausted, I pay, and now it's two months that I've been waiting. Did the miner ever existed in the first place? I don't know. Is someone in background buying some old miner in China to have it shipped to me? Anything is possible, frankly. One thing I'm sure of: they won't see my money again. And you should be careful as well.
Great 3 months of mining
I have started with Compass about three months ago and so far I'm very happy with the service. Miners were delivered even before expected dates and have been mining since with minimum downtime. Support had been in touch with me few time and generally responds within few days. As it stands now 5 stars well deserved. Fingers crossed it will stay at this level of service.
