Margot warms my North facing living room
I have a north facing living room. I spent time looking to find a colour that would be warming. It looks light initially when opening the tin, I like that you provided a wooden stirrer. Having always had white, I had concerns it would be too dark, but I carried on painting and it needed two coats. The colour is stunning, as is the quality. Really pleased, thank you

Hi Hazel,
Thank you so much for taking the time to leave this review, it really means the world to us.
North facing rooms can be so tricky to get right and we are really pleased Margot turned out to be exactly what you were looking for. It is such a beautiful warm colour and it sounds like it has transformed the space. Enjoy it!

Lovely to use and looks great
My first time using COAT paint. Loved the free stick-on testers instead of messy, wasteful tester pots. The paint was so easy to use - almost a pleasure! I really liked that it didn't seem overly chemical and that washing the brushes and paint tray was easy. The colour I chose (The Tobacconist) is deep and rich. It is on the expensive side, but for me, it was worth the extra.
Edit - I am glad I didn't read the negative reviews before I bought. I may not have bothered. I can say, hand on heart, that I didn't experience any problems and my review is not auto-generated!

Delighted with products
Delighted with initial paint purchases of eggshell and matt for our lounge a few months ago. Found the stick on samples really useful when choosing the colour. Paint went on well, giving good coverage on plaster and wood. So pleased we have just bought Out of Office for our hallway which has limited natural light.

Stick to what you know!
Confused by all of the positive reviews. This is by far the worst paint I have ever used. Stupidly gave it a second chance and now heading back to Dulux to cover up a very bad quality paint. 3rd time lucky I hope!

Thank you for taking the time to leave a review and we are genuinely sorry to hear that your experience with COAT has not been what you hoped for.
We take quality incredibly seriously and this is not the experience we want anyone to have. We would really love the opportunity to understand what happened and to make it right for you. Our paint is rigorously tested and the vast majority of our customers have a wonderful experience, so when something goes wrong we want to know about it.

The best brand emulsion paint I've ever…
The best brand emulsion paint I've ever used. It's usually been Dulux or Crown in the past but I just loved a particular colour and thought I would try it.
The thing I love the most is it doesn't drip and it's just nice and easy to work with. One coat looked fine but two coats and I've got a beautiful rich finish. Would highly recommend.

Loved being able to move the samples around the room in different light so I was confident in making the right choice. The paint arrived quickly and was beautiful to use. I only needed one coat on most walls and the finish is gorgeous. Can’t stop looking at my beautiful room. Thanks Coat.

Thank you so much for this lovely review and for your loyalty over the past five months! Three colours for your new home is so exciting and Cold Brew in a coat and boot room is an absolutely inspired choice, that deep warm taupe is going to look incredibly considered and characterful in that space.
We would love to see it!

Park Life (sage green) - excellent results
I had a client that wished to have their bedroom in Park Life sage green. Initially, a colour matching trade paint brand was used in different finishes - all suffered from flashing and leaving application marks, regardless of being brush, roller or spayed.
Coat paint was purchased out of desperation and was truely excellent. Great product, excellent quality, easy to apply and, importantly dried to an excellent finish. It was a false economy using a colour matched product. I have only used this one product, but will use and recommend again as a very high bar has now been set

Really liked the texture of the paint
Really liked the texture of the paint, I thought the colours were very tasteful and the paint brushes were a dream when applying paint. But they do need mini rollers and a different textured roller as it did not glide my paint on the walls wisely (left a lot of air bubbles)

Great choice of colours to help design your room. Easy ordering and speedy delivery.
Can’t wait to see the new colour I have purchased on the walls in my lounge.
Have used Coat paints before and they offer great coverage without that awful paint smell and mess.
The non drip ceiling paint is especially good and easy to apply

This paint is solid
This paint is solid! Rob... one of the co founders and a great customer of mine very kindly donated me some coat paint to dec out my new barbershop with, i went with the david rose swatch and the paint did not dissapoint! You have to work this paint because of its quality and thickness, but my god when you learn how to work it is it good! From a fresh replaster and 1 mist coat with one coat of well worked david rose om top the whole shop was done in a single coat! Bringing a whole new meaning to the word "coat" would highly highly reccomend! Rob the co founder is a properly top guy too with a great family! He really has created something epic! Will use again and again!

Hi Max,
This review has genuinely made our day and thank you so much! A barbershop in David Rose sounds absolutely extraordinary and we are so thrilled it delivered in a single coat on fresh plaster. You have nailed it!
Your point about learning to work the paint is so well put, the quality and thickness is exactly what gives it that beautiful rich finish and once you find your rhythm with it there really is nothing like it.
We hope the shop is an enormous success and we cannot wait to see it. Thank you for the incredibly kind words and for welcoming COAT into your space!
Thanks,

This is the 2nd review I've written…
This is the 2nd review I've written about my experience with this company as they use a different survey platform. They have sent out a 2nd review email so I doubt the first one was published.
The option to get the sticker samples is great, delivery is prompt.
However I ordered the blue shade 'Establishment' based upon the sample. Upon opening the tin, it seemed very purple and a totally different shade. I googled it and the company says to be brave and do the two coats. The colour was just awful so I emailed in. The online contact us option did not work for me on the website so that was more delay.
The response was quick, an apology, they would let the lab know and more paint was instantly dispatched.
However, there was no discussion or options given or acknowledgement of the wasted time, effort, disappointment and delay to my room being finished. I emailed them back to say I would prefer a refund as they hadn't fulfilled our contract but they didn't respond.
At this point, I just wanted to get the room finished.
I dreaded opening the tin but fortunately it was the same as the sample.
I repainted my bathroom but it isn't the same colour on the walls as the sample. Close but not the same.
It was a small room so I decided to spend more on what I thought would be a quality paint but I regret this decision.
I wouldn't use this company again.

Hi Sarah,
Thank you for taking the time to share such a detailed review and we are sorry to hear the experience did not live up to expectations.
We are pleased that when you contacted us the response was quick and replacement paint was dispatched immediately, and we are glad the second tin matched the sample. We do appreciate that the process was not as smooth as it should have been and we understand that was frustrating.
We would love the opportunity to discuss this further with you directly. Please do reach out to us at hello@coatpaints.com with your order details and we will be happy to look into everything properly for you.
Thank you for the honest feedback and for giving us a second chance with the replacement tin.

Paint quality brought the whole experience down
I loved the stickers to test out colours in a bigger patch in the light, I loved the B corp status and packaging and bicycle delivery. But sadly, as a paint, this just isn’t great. Even covering a similar shade with a coat of primer and two coats of paint has left it patchy but I don’t have the will to do 4 coats of paint. I think they need to work on the paint quality before I’d consider buying again.

Hi Jessica,
Thank you so much for the kind words about our samples, B Corp status and packaging, those things mean a great deal to us.
We are genuinely sorry to hear the coverage did not meet your expectations and this is not the experience we want anyone to have. Our paint is rigorously tested and the vast majority of our customers achieve a beautiful finish in two coats, so we would really love to understand what happened in your specific situation.
Factors such as the application method, roller pile length and the colour being covered can all affect coverage and we would love the chance to help troubleshoot this with you. Please do reach out to us at hello@coatpaints.com with your order details and we will look into it properly.
We hope we get the chance to turn this around for you.
