I ordered 8 tins of paint which was obviously not a cheap purchase. On arrival most boxes were damaged. When I opened them, a lot of the tins had also been damaged. One of them had quite clearly leaked as there was paint all over the box and on the outside of the tin. Another had leaked slightly just around the lid. I contacted customer services with photos of the damage. They first told me not to use the paint that leaked in the box and that they would send a replacement and provide a discount. They asked for additional photos which I sent. The next day I was told that I could in fact use the paint that was damaged. I asked why they offered a replacement and a discount and told me not to use the paint the day before. They sent a replacement but there was no discount and no explanation. Whilst the other paint has been usable, they don't take into consideration that the damage to the tins causes issues to open and close the tins. As a result I ended up with paint everywhere in my kitchen. I will need to order some more of a colour that ran out, despite having more than enough for the room I was painting so the coverage is not as it says. However, I won't be using this company again due to the conflicting service. The replacement paint also arrived with dents.

Just to be clear, despite the response below, I have had no communication from the customer team since putting up this review. I even warned customer services that I would be putting up this review and that did not receive a response. I will now take this to trading standards/Ombudsman for stating that you will deal with the situation in a particular way and then going back on that and refusing to give any explanation whatsoever.

Wow, absolutely gorgeous paint,I could only order a 2.5l tin because of my budget ☹️with the first roll I knew I had quality it is beautiful paint,glided on the wall,so easy for me,I ordered Tuesday's child I wanted a rich warm cream and that is exactly what I got,you won't be disappointed with this paint and you definitely get what you pay for,I am so impressed 👍

Absolutely love coats paint. Really like the stick on samples, and the coverage of the paint, the low odour and the initial packaging was spot on. A bit pricy, but very happy, considering it was a first time, online purchase. Ordered the reverie sheen wall paint. Gorgeous colour.

Beautiful colours, very poor quality paint. I painted most of my flat in COAT and regret it. The walls were properly prepped, primed and painted by an experienced professional decorator who said it’s the worst paint he’s used in his career. Even low tack decorators tape pulls the paint off, so he had to freehand every line and corner. Paint should not be this fragile.

My bedroom needed 3 coats on top of primed walls and was already peeling 2 weeks later. My hallway was painted in March by a different decorator, also on primed walls, and it needs repainting already. I live alone with no kids or pets, so if flat matt paint can’t survive in my home it won’t survive in anyone’s. Realistically I’ll need to repaint within 12 months or do constant touch ups, which is galling given the premium price.

Customer service has been pleasant, but that doesn’t fix the product. Once I looked past the Instagram hype and read reviews properly, I found people reporting the same peeling going back to 2024, so this isn’t a bad batch, it’s the formulation. Lovely shades, but I wouldn’t buy again and I’d urge anyone considering it to read the negative reviews first.

I’ve just used Coat paint for the first time and am converted. The depth of colour and ease of application is superb and there is absolutely no smell. I used Next Tuesday in the matt and Fresh Start in eggshell. Now planning the next project.

Amazing paint and wonderful colours. Particularly like the fact that the water base makes it easier to correct when you accidentally paint where you didn’t mean to! Great company and very helpful customer service and the AI paint finder is helpful too

I love the sample service - this helped me choose the perfect colour in all lights and positions in my rooms. When decision was made, delivery was next day from order. Within four days my room transformation was complete. I’m delighted with the results. The paint is the best I’ve used and the coverage is flawless.

Outstanding paint. We chose three complimentary colours- nomad, out if office and debate club to paint our large kitchen/ dining room. The colours felt like a risk but we’d had Farrow and Ball on the walls for several years and I have to admit it was a completely different experience to paint with Coat. The quality of paint was superb, great coverage and the depth of colour was immediately noticeable. A second coat was all that was needed to give full depth of colour and such stunning hues. Subtle, sophisticated, we have been inundated with compliments. The testers were so easy and versatile to move around. The paint arrived with 24 hours. I feel utterly inspired by our new space.
