They charged me without permission
In signing up for a free week they required two forms of ID. Unfortunately my second form of ID I handed him was a credit card. Exactly 2 weeks later they charged my card for $209, one year worth of Clear. I finally was given a phone number to call them. I will get a refund, but it will take 3 to 10 days. To me, that is totally unacceptable. I never authorize the charge in the first place.
I reported them to reportfraud.ftc.gov. You should do the same. Maybe we can put them out of business.
NO STARS. Their free trial is a scam.
I would like to give them no stars. They are a scam!!!!! Beware. I was with my grandaughter who has Huntingtons Disease, in the Miami airport. The was a bit of a line for security and she started having a panic attack. A girl saw this and came up and said she could get us thru quickly if we signed up for a free 14 day trial. I gave my credit card. I was afraid they might not be on the up and up so I cancelled the next day.20 days later they charged me $334.00. I have disputed the charge and plan to file charges against them with the Texas attorney general and a complaint with the better business bureau.
Clearme. 100% Scam.
A clearme reprentative was at the airport security area telling everyone to skip the line and come over to their line. When I went there they signed me up for clear and never told be there was a charge of $209.00. I found it on my credit card statement a couple of weeks later. I called the company and I was told through an AI chat bot that I could not get the fee refuneded because it was beyond the 14 day window.
They promised no charges will apply…
They promised no charges will apply until I approve it, well they charged my credit card $209 without my permission.
The service was not even worth it since there were no lines. Just fyi they only there for outbound flights not for incoming flights
When I tried to cancel they offered me half price and when I selected no they tried to offer me two months free
WARNING: Misleading Sales Practice at International Airports
Traveling from O’Hare Chicago on December 2025 I was approached while standing in line by a polite representative who offered an “electronic check,” saying I was eligible. At the time, I was not medically well and had completed three major intercontinental trips within four months. The electronic process went well, and till this point I wasn't told this was a paid service.
Only at the very end I was asked to provide my bank card. I was told the cost would be about $50. While processing the payment, the representative casually mentioned/ mumbled that my family could use it for one year when I already payed. There was no explanation from his side or agreement from my side. I felt only surprised, disappointed for a poor service.
However, two weeks later, I discovered I had actually been charged by CLEAR $209 for a service that I didn't needed ; it saved me maybe five minutes and provided no real benefit.
Immediately, I visited the website, and found I had been enrolled in a “subscription” that was never clearly explained, written, or agreed to.
I am a trusting person, which made this experience especially upsetting. It was shocking for me that a major international airport like ORD allows this type of misleading and disrespectful practices. I strongly urge travelers to be alert, to ask very clear questions and think twice before agreeing to anything while in line.
Wasted my time!
After trying countless times, doing everything right, and contacting Clear. Using their useless help. It still doesn't recognize me? I guess I won't be "certified"......
Clear is a terrible place of…
Clear is a terrible place of employment. They put on a fake smile and Persona for the customers, but, treat the employees absolutely terrible. They have no morals or dignity, moral or respect for their employees. Especially their female employees. They make fun of their employees short comings as well as their appearance. It makes it very uncomfortable and hard to be productive and doing your job. It's the management that bullies and Antagonize their employees daily
Waste of $180 and Six Hours of My Time
I paid $180 for Clear’s concierge service expecting efficiency, responsiveness, and basic follow-through. Instead, I spent six hours on chat trying to get a single reservation confirmed — and never once received meaningful help.
There was no urgency, no ownership, and no resolution. I was passed around, left waiting, and ultimately ignored. For a service that exists solely to save time, Clear Concierge did the exact opposite. I would have been better off handling the reservation myself from the start.
What makes this especially unacceptable is the price point. Charging a premium for a concierge service that cannot even confirm a reservation — or provide access to an actual human who can help — is indefensible. This wasn’t a complex request. It was a basic function that the service completely failed to perform.
This experience was frustrating, inefficient, and frankly misleading. Clear Concierge did not provide a concierge experience at all — just hours of wasted time and zero results. I do not recommend this service to anyone and regret purchasing it.
Terrible customer service, nothing available but AI which is circular and not well done at all...it is instructed to frustrate people into leaving
Horrible...charged TWICE for years, Customer Service is an AI bot who seems like purposely frustrates
I am writing this review regarding…
I am writing this review regarding management and workplace treatment at CLEAR at Detroit Metropolitan Wayne County Airport (DTW).
This situation began when I arrived to start my scheduled 4:00 a.m. shift. Upon reporting to the office as required, I unexpectedly encountered a situation involving a manager and a Senior Ambassador that made me uncomfortable. I immediately removed myself from the area, minded my business, and returned to my assigned lane to continue working.
Afterward, I was subjected to aggravating and insulting behavior from both individuals, despite having done nothing inappropriate. The work environment became hostile, and I felt targeted and threatened. Due to the stress of this interaction, I left work about an hour later feeling shocked and fearful that my job was at risk. Later that day, I experienced severe chest palpitations and anxiety symptoms that led me to seek emergency medical care, where I was informed I was experiencing a serious cardiac event.
After approximately one week of recovery, I returned to work. The General Manager was understanding and supportive, for which I am very grateful. Unfortunately, the Senior Ambassador involved continued to antagonize me. I was repeatedly insulted, undermined, and spoken to disrespectfully — at times in front of passengers. There was also an incident where I was physically grabbed and ordered to comply, in the presence of management. I was treated as though I was inferior, which was humiliating and distressing.
This behavior continued for over a year. During that time, false reports were made about me, I was written up repeatedly, and I constantly felt as though efforts were being made to have me terminated. I endured this treatment because I loved my job and feared losing my employment.
Eventually, due to the ongoing stress and its impact on my health, I asked management if my position would be secure if I took time to recover. I was reassured that my job would be safe. However, after taking six months to focus on my health, I attempted to return and discovered that I had been terminated and permanently barred from reapplying.
Since then, I have made multiple attempts to reach out to other hiring managers and CLEAR representatives to seek clarification or assistance. Unfortunately, my efforts have been unsuccessful. I have reason to believe that communication has been blocked at the individual level, preventing me from being able to receive help or advocate for myself. As a result, I have been left without support, answers, or any avenue to resolve this situation.
I later learned that negative documentation had been placed in my file, which appeared to be personal rather than performance-based. This was devastating. I was well-liked by coworkers and passengers alike and consistently contributed positively to the workplace. To lose a job I genuinely loved in this manner has been emotionally, financially, and physically damaging.
CLEAR promotes values of professionalism, respect, and trust. My experience did not reflect those values. I hope this review encourages leadership to closely examine how power is exercised within management, how employee concerns are addressed, and how workplace conflicts are documented — especially when an employee’s health and livelihood are involved.
What a scam
What a scam! I was at the airport and a very nice lady offered to check me in without waiting in line. She asked for my debit card, but said I wouldn't be charged anything, but that she hoped I would join their services in the future. A couple weeks later there's a charge on my debit card for $209! What is this for? I went to their website to try and get that charge reversed. No luck, so far.
Complete and utter con
I was a little lost at Las Vegas airport on November 20th and was approached by a friendly-looking gentleman who offered his help. I walked over and, like a magician's sleight of hand, was railroaded into CLEAR membership. The agent, Jeff, assured me this would be quicker than going through the passport line. In the time it took to sign up and be directed through, I could've gone through the regular line twice over. But don't worry, I was also assured I could cancel for free within 30 days and wouldn't be charged. Imagine my surprise then when I logged in on December 8th to discover that apparently, the charge date was this day. I cancelled, and was charged $209. I informed its AI chat bot and was assured the money would be refunded between 3-5 days. It's now the fifth day, and there's no sign of the money.
It appears this service is a total grift, and anyone who works for it should be utterly ashamed of themselves.
Cold calling scammers
Cold calling scammers. Will try and rip you off and bs you in the phone. Tell them to F off and hang up. As moral as Epstein and trump
The Clear representives scripted lies
The Clear representives at LAX obviously have a script which involves pitching their new technology as a complimentary test. I was shown on-screen that the amount due that day would be ZERO - it even had the $189 regular fee CROSSED OUT with a grey line through the total.
However, the catch is their usage of the term "today" as in, "you won't be charged anything today!" (But later, you bet). Total scam. I knew something didn't seem right when I was asked to insert my debit card, but was assured it was just part of the testing procedure for the LAX remodel.
Do not give these people your credit card! Their contract with TSA needs to be terminated.
charges $500 for myself and 2 adult…
charges $500 for myself and 2 adult children to use, most airports the precheck line is shorter then clear, total waste of money at this point.
My family and I were approached for a free trial, canceled in time and still got charged.
My family and I went to the airport and were approached by clear. They said free trial as long as you cancel by the 6th of December We canceled by the 1st and sure enough still for charged. It was my wife and I and our kids. We only scanned the card on my screen and not my wife’s. The lady working at clear told me I only need to cancel. Not for my kids or wife. Sure enough still got charged and dealing with them and the bank.
Horrible experience
Horrible experience. Was offered membership at ORD airport by a Clear agent WHO WAS DRUNK and smelling of alcohol. I was told up to 3 family members are included in basic membership of $209. Found out they charged 375 additional for 3 members. Tried reaching customer service, absolutely could not. They won’t refund. Stay away from this service.
I have been paying for pass 3 years for…
I have been paying for pass 3 years for it only used once when I sign in all other times poitless and getting back to the regular line .
I dont have Usa passaport Im under greencard they dont take greencard , I didnt have my real id bc I dont need it Im traveling outside of the Usa and they still require btw I made it faster than using Clear .
You guys suck
I waited until I used Clear a few times before leaving a bad review
I waited until I used Clear a few times at Sky Harbor Airport before leaving a review. I find that it is quicker to just go through regular TSA. I will wait until I go through a few more airports before I renew my membership. I doubt I will renew.
Total scam and possibly fraudulent
Today I discovered that Clear charged $199 to my credit card at the beginning of this year. I did not sign up for this service. I also discovered I now have an account and a subscription with Clear that is auto-renewed annually. My card would have been charged again this coming January. Thankfully I was able to cancel this subscription. However, Clear claims they have no record of the charge even though it is clearly shown on my credit card statement as originating from Clearme.com. I am still trying to resolve this, but I will not hesitate to litigate if necessary. Looks like there are tons of people with the same experience.
