Another Excellent Shirt from Claudio…
I recently purchased the Midnight Floral Print Shirt from Claudio Lugli, and once again, I haven't been disappointed.
I've bought several shirts from Claudio Lugli now, and this particular design is noticeably darker than some of the brighter floral prints I've previously purchased. While I really enjoy the look of their brighter shirts, the darker, more unusual print of the Midnight Floral stood out to me straight away. It has a completely different character and looks fantastic on.
As always with Claudio Lugli, the quality is exceptional. The material is really thick and feels substantial, the shirt is cut and tailored extremely well, and it fits beautifully.
One thing that deserves a special mention is just how easy these shirts are to iron. They are very, very easy to iron, which is a hell of a bonus when you're wearing shirts regularly. It might sound like a small thing, but it makes a genuine difference.
Claudio Lugli has now become my go-to brand for shirts. I honestly don't bother looking at other brands anymore because I know I'm going to get excellent quality, a great fit and something that looks a little different from the usual high-street offerings.
The Midnight Floral is another winner from Claudio Lugli, and I'd happily recommend it to anyone looking for a quality shirt with a bit more character.

Great designs and super fit! I now have c20 CL shirts (long and short sleeve), and they are consistently high quality, unique, and always attract a favourable comment (unlike the person wearing them!). I’ll need a bigger wardrobe with the autumn designs now appearing.

I’ve actually marked you down 1* for the first time. Just received 3 new short sleeve shirts for my hubby for holidays.
Having mainly viewed them on my iPhone rather than a computer, I was very disappointed in the colours of two of them, not at all as I expected. Escape to Santorini was much bluer than expected, expecting it to be whiter. Tropical Blossom Hawaiian shirt was also darker than expected, was expecting the turquoise to be more vivid and vibrant. When viewing on the phone the colours look quite different, but I’ve just looked on my computer, and tbh they are much closer to the true colours.
Under the Ocean is amazing. I’ve been trying to buy him this print since it first came out, so it did not disappoint at all.
All are a great fit and hubby loves them all, so obviously we are keeping them.
Just another note, I have noticed with some, that the colours now run! I never used to have a problem with Claudio Shirts. The first I found to have this problem was the beach signs in the traditional short sleeve style (blue ink runs even at 30deg)! I am now even more careful which are washed with which now.
Delivery: Although one shirt showed as being in stock, the other 2 pre-order, I didn’t receive any until you’d received all. Thankfully I didn’t need any urgently with you next day delivery.
DPD: He didn’t even ring our doorbell (and we have a Ring doorbell & camera on the drive and were in), he went straight to the drive and put the package with 3 Claudio shirts on the floor next to the bin!!!
Question please: why did you do away with your customer loyalty program?
I found it really helped, and I’d moved to Silver. It’s not very often we’re able to purchase 2 or especially 3 Claudio shirts in one go. He just loves the fit and the vibrancy of some of the prints. He’s been wearing them since your dad used to have a stall at Carfest at Oulton Park in Cheshire.
Have you thought about making the shirts or chinos in a larger waist size?
Simon is a 44” waist and I’m sure you must have other regulars with a larger waist size in line with your shirts.

Paula, thank you for taking the time to write all of this - it is far more useful to us than a five-star line, and I want to answer every point properly.
On the colours: you have spotted something we deal with a lot. Phone screens boost saturation and shift blues, so a print like Escape to Santorini or Tropical Blossom can read very differently on an iPhone than it does in the hand. Our product photography is shot to the true fabric colour, which is why the desktop view matched what arrived. We are working on clearer colour guidance on the product pages for exactly this reason.
On the dye running - that should not be happening and we would like to look into it. Claudio Lugli shirts are best washed cold at 30 degrees, inside out, with like colours and without bio detergent, but if a print is transferring even on a correct wash we want to know which batch it came from. Please call us on 0208 450 1274 or email enquiries@claudioluglishirts.com with your order reference and the print names and we will take it from there.
On delivery: you are right that a pre-order line holds the whole order until everything is in. We are reviewing split despatch so in-stock items can ship straight away. And the DPD drop - a parcel left by the bin with someone home and a Ring doorbell on the door - is not the handover we pay for. Send us the tracking number and we will raise it with DPD directly.
Two bits of good news. Larger waist sizes are coming - we have heard the same from a lot of long-standing customers and a 44 inch waist is very much in scope. And the loyalty programme is not gone for good; it is under review and we are looking at how to bring it back in a better form. You were Silver and that should not count for nothing.
Carfest at Oulton Park with my dad's stall - that is going back a bit. Thank you for sticking with us since then, and we are glad Under the Ocean was worth the wait and that Simon loves the fit.

The quality of this shirt is over and above great. The fit is perfect. The bold print is the envy of my friends, especially among my musician friends. I've had dozens of people wanting to know where I bought it. Of course I have told them. I hope some of them follow up. Not all though. I don't want to be dressed like everyone else. Haha.
