There products are so well made and of a high standard

I ordered a table and chairs with a parasol from Charles Taylor Trading on 17th May 2025. The items were delivered on 30th June. The table and chairs are of acceptable quality—not premium, but fair for the price.

However, the parasol (an extra £79) is shockingly poor. It’s a sub-standard, made-in-China item that is not fit for purpose. The materials are cheap, it’s not solid wood as implied, and the brass-look fittings don’t tighten properly. The stitching was already coming apart at the seams, and there were cracks running right through the supporting pole.

I requested a replacement, which took another 19 days to arrive. Unfortunately, the replacement was worse—a different shade of grey, even larger cracks, and a brass-effect joint that was unstable, with sharp edges and flaking varnish.

It’s clear that quality control is non-existent for some items in their range, particularly the parasols. This experience has been frustrating and disappointing. I cannot recommend this company based on the poor quality of the parasol and the lack of adequate product checks.

My order for a large outdoor table was scheduled for delivery 3 weeks after ordering. I even received confirmation for the exact day by SMS and got a reminder the day before delivery. But on the day the driver instead delivered to the wrong address and just left it unassembled on someone else's front door even though they were supposed to assembly it on delivery.

No one called me on delivery, and I'm assuming no one answered the door at the random address they left it at because it was just left out unassembled in the rain. Now I'll probably have to wait another 3 weeks for it to be re-delivered, assuming it even arrives properly.

Judging by alot of the other reviews here seems like bad delivery is a regular problem with this company. Don't make the same mistake I did. DO NOT order from this company.

I have been waiting for an order from Charles Taylor since the end of April this year. I got told the lead time was 4 weeks! Absolutely terrible service, keep getting fobbed off by their company contact and that is if they even bother replying! I have sent several emails chasing this order but still not received nearly 3 months after the fact. Shame really as their products are usually of okay standard.

I would not recommend this company at all. Very poor customer service to say the least. I should have had a delivery yesterday sat in all day and then waited for a bench I bought in memory of my late father. This meant so much to me. On the original invoice the sales person put *IMPORTANT* regarding a plaque for the bench. He said someone will ring you when they see that. They didn’t. I got a call to arrange delivery and I mentioned what he has said to me and they said they don’t do that. That is fine I can get that elsewhere the bench is really what I wanted.

I arranged delivery and then rang them in the morning just to confirm as I had heard nothing and they said it was definitely going to be delivered. Only it never came no communication at all on the day. The delivery person turned up today (day later) at 7:20am when I was getting ready for work as well as sorting my children for school he had finished yesterday and came this morning it was suitable for him
I assume. Not me! Hence why I arranged the delivery on a time I knew I could take the order. I sent him away. I rang the company to explain she said she would call me back after the school run. What a surprise this didn’t happen and I had to call them again to sort out the refund. This bench really meant something to me and I’m disappointed but I will not buy something from a company that in my opinion doesn’t value customers or communication. I have only recently lost my father and I am grieving and this upset was something that could have been avoided.

Had our furniture delivered today and we are delighted.

I ordered a canopy for my swing seat, it arrived on time and fitted perfectly.

Ordered dining set with 6 chairs through Debenhams and said order would be delivered within 7 business days! No delivery by that date, contacted Charles Taylor direct as needed the furniture for my daughter’s baby shower which is next week! They said they would look into it to see if could expedite delivery! Week gone by, heard absolutely nothing! Very rude as I have purchased many orders from them before but am extremely disappointed with their lack of communication! At least have the courtesy to let me know as if no delivery by next week will have to borrow furniture! Very unhappy!

Furniture is perfect in every way.

Last year I used another brand of preservative to coat the furniture. It was a bit meh! This year, I bought your own brand. Total result. The garden furniture is looking good as new. Bravo 👏.

I ordered a 2 seater swing for my wife's birthday. The order was placed on 16/05. The website states that the order would be delivered within 14 working days.
My wife's birthday was on 08/06, plenty of time for the advertised delivery. At the beginning of that week I contacted the company as there had been no further information and was told they would chase up the order and see what they could do to get it to me in time.
The following day I had a message with no facility to reply that stated the order would be delivered on 25/06, 2 days short of 6 weeks from when the order was placed.
In the meantime some significant planned garden work has commenced making this a very inconvenient time.
I contacted Charles Taylor Trading again but had no response.
The order arrived on 25/06. I have not yet had the opportunity to assemble it. No time slot was given for the delivery so I had to wait in all day. It arrived after 4 p.m.
I ordered directly from CTT to ensure the delivery would be in time and could have bought the product cheaper elsewhere.
The terrible customer service and complete failure to adhere to their advertised delivery service from this company indicates a very poor attitude and a complete disregard for its customers. I would not recommend purchasing their products.

Got a text on 11AM Thursday fro a random telling me my delivery is coming at 6am the next day, I misread and thought it said 6pm. I was in at 6am but nothing on my ring doorbell. Now I need to call the office to get my delivery. Waste of time. Don't bother

I just attached this to my window (downstairs thank god)
Watered my little annuals that I'd put in (plant boxes do need watering) and the whole thing came smashing down. Now annuals don't need deep soil so not much was put in the box.
When I inspected this window box, it wasn't screwed together as such a large wooden box should be, BUT PINNED..... WHAT A DANGER FOR ANYONE USING THEM ON AN UPPER FLOOR WINDOW !!!

Made an order of 10 wooden window boxes. Condition on purchase was "up to" 14 days. It is now 18 days so I call them to see why its late. I was then advised it will "probably" be received by 30th June. That's 23 days not 14.
There was no apology just lots of irrelevant excuses. Such as: someone just returning from vacation was one. Due to large quantity it has to be split into 3 shipments (small window boxes) was another.
The woman said I was "lucky" as if they didn't do that it would be mid July before I receive them.
I asked why they didnt contact me if they knew it was late, and the woman said because they are busy.
What an idiotic example of customer service.

Robert was a Brilliant staff member, Excellent advice given to take care of the furniture not only delivered the furniture but put it together as well with care absolutely amazing!
Placed it exactly where we wanted it couldn't ask for better service I wish all deliveries was like that
