One month i am trying to contact them they didn't answer, i contacted my bank and hope i get the money back,
Don't buy any items from them they are scams
I have had the same experience as the others who have left a review. I have repeatedly (for over a month) tried to contact this shady company regarding a faulty fridge. The phone line is turned off despite the message announcing that they would be on again on the 5th Jan. As of writing this it is now the 19th Jan. And they're still off. I have tried to contact them using all methods of contact on numerous occasions but have not been responded to. DO NOT BUY FROM THIS COMPANY!!!!! 💩
This account details my experience purchasing and returning a microwave oven from CaterEQ (also operating as Adexa). My aim is to inform potential customers about the challenges I faced with their customer support and returns process.
The Purchase and Initial Problem
On December 8, 2025, I ordered a microwave oven from CaterEQ. The item arrived on December 10, but upon opening the packaging, I discovered the glass door was smashed. I immediately emailed CaterEQ with photographs documenting the damage.
Customer Support Difficulties
After sending the initial email, I received no response. I made numerous phone calls to CaterEQ, but none were answered. Growing concerned, I researched the company online and found many negative reviews, confirming my suspicions about their reliability. I also discovered that CaterEQ is a rebrand of Adexa; their websites are nearly identical except for branding. I found a sales number on the Adexa site (029 2271 0928) and, despite a warning that it was not for support, managed to speak with a sales operator. This person offered to pass my issue to the “Returns Team.”
Frustrating Communications
Over the following days, I received several “Ticket resolved” notifications from CaterEQ with no explanation or actual resolution. I replied to each, explaining that my issue was not resolved. Eventually, I received a response stating that the photographs I sent could not be opened (they were standard JPG files). After repeated attempts, I used both the Adexa web form and live chat to resend the images.
Return Instructions and Delays
On December 15, 2025, I finally received instructions for returning the item. The steps included:
• Packaging the item in its original box
• Removing all other tracking labels
• Printing and attaching a returns label
• Sending a photo of the packaged item with the label attached
• Confirming my address and availability within a 14-day window
• Indicating whether I wanted a replacement or a refund
I followed these instructions, and DPD collected the package from my property on December 22, 2025. Due to the Christmas holiday, the package was delivered to CaterEQ/Adexa on December 29 at 12:02.
Continued Lack of Response
Despite proof of delivery, the company’s order system continued to show “Awaiting Return.” My emails and live chat messages went unanswered.
On January 6, 2026, after being told repeatedly that the item had not been received, I sent over 237 messages via web forms and live chat, hoping for a response.
That afternoon, I received a phone call from CaterEQ/Adexa stating they had not received the item. I contacted DPD, who provided photos and the name of the person who signed for the delivery.
I forwarded this evidence to customer support.
Resolution
On January 6, 2026, at 15:39, I received an email from CaterEQ confirming the microwave had been returned.
The following day, January 7, I received a refund for the returned goods.
Recommendations
Based on my experience, I strongly advise caution when considering purchases from CaterEQ or Adexa.
Here are my recommendations for others:
• Research company reviews before making a purchase.
• Document all communications and keep copies of emails, photos, and delivery confirmations.
• Use multiple channels (email, web forms, live chat, phone) to contact support.
• Be persistent.
Be aware of return deadlines and keep track of all correspondence.
Company sells cheap low quality items, with no support whatsoever when the delivery is damaged or the product has manufacturing defects. Phone lines have been closed for 3 weeks now (supposed to re-open after Christmas on 5 January but still closed for ‘festive break’ on 12 January). No response to any emails. Phone line for returns/refunds does not work at all. Sister company (same Company director), Adexa, has ceased telephone support but also doesn’t respond to live chat.
Customer service non existent. Their phone line still tells you they are closed during festive season and reopen on 5th today is 7th.
I should have read the reviews about these guys before I placed an order!
We had some fridges delivered but they were damaged when they arrived so we refused to accept the order and it was returned to Catereq. I have been trying to get in contact with the company for over a month now. They don't answer their phones, their live chat or their emails. Since I paid on debit card the only option I now have is to take them to small claims court. A total waste of my time.
I would suggest avoiding these guys at all costs!
Update 12/1/2026 : Their phone lines are still saying they are closed for the festive season (even though the message says they will open again on the 5th) and all emails continue to be ignored. They have also removed the phone support from Adexa and their live chat is going unanswered (this is their sister site) so there is no way to get in contact with them if you have an issue!
Update 26/01/2026 : Phone lines still saying closed for the festive period! I have had two responses from support however I am no closer to getting replacement goods or a refund. Its been 8 weeks with no progress so I have no choice now but to go to small claims court. I have wasted hours on this and they just don't seem to care!
Update 2/2/26 Phone lines still saying closed for the festive period! No response to any follow up emails, not even an acknowledgement. This company should be closed down. Do not risk buying from here.
Avoid Adexa / Catereq at All Costs – Absolute Scam
Catereq is basically Adexa operating under a different name because of their terrible reputation. Do not be fooled.
I ordered a mincer from Catereq and it arrived broken. I sent it back immediately and was told I would receive a refund within 7–14 working days. That refund never arrived.
I contacted them multiple times by email – no replies at all. Calling them is a complete waste of time; it’s almost impossible to get through on the phone. They simply ignore customers once they have your money.
In the end, I had no choice but to contact my bank to get my money back. That alone tells you everything you need to know about this company.
They are selling cheap, low-quality Chinese catering equipment, and when something goes wrong, getting a refund is practically impossible. Customer service is non-existent, and their business practices are disgraceful.
WARNING: Do not use Adexa or Catereq. Save yourself the stress, wasted time, and risk of losing your money. Spend your money with a reputable company instead.
This is just an Adexa rebrand avoid! Same director!
bad customer service and did not help me at all
This company is a scam. Scam. Scam. They sell themselves but very poor delivery and service. What is advertised is NOT what is delivered. Alot of customer lip service yet poor and wrong product delivery and they keep part of your money.
Don't don't buy from them. If you do its at your own risk. Shame. Shame. Shame.
I ordered rice cooker 10litres to be precise and at the end of the transcation before payment just to confirm, my receipt stated 10 litres Rice cooker. Suprise on me when my package arrived that i was super looking forward for i received a 4.2 litres rice cooker which i already have a few and needed upgrade that is why i ordered the 10litres, after 11 days trying to get this resolved so that i can get my 10litres rice cooker the customer service or the person who i have been communicating with comes and tells me that the capacity was 4.2litre not 10litres, i thought i was losing my mind because it took two of us to make this purchase and when we were doing so we had gone through all the information on the website and decided to go with this company that is after letting all the others go. Now they have refused to take back the 4.2litres and state that i can return it and they will be taking 25% fee of my order and i am also paying for the return, this is after they had accepted the mistake they had made and they were organising someone coming to get this rice cooker. I was looking forward to working with this company as a cater but after the shocking experience i am not recommending any food business who are ready to buy equipment to work with this company. Its taken 10days and don't forget they don't have a working phone number another reason to avoid them completely. I have requested for their full address and i will try to send back this rice cooker hoping to get back my refund. All in all buy from them at your own risk. All the best i wish i had read a few of this reviews before purchase
Took my money for items ordered on Monday morning, with free delivery for 3-5 working days delivery. (I could have paid more for expedited delivery and the items showing in stock).
One week later sent chaser emails as the DX delivery firm was still showing ‘data received’ at Newport depot on an ‘overnight service’ and had not changed at all for the previous week.
Automated emails back from Adexa/catereq - mostly with avoidance tactics which suggested you wait to chat to someone on website during office hours instead of actually replying to emails. Also suspected automated emails from ‘Sophie’ on the website chat facility too - claiming item was dispatched twice.
Clearly the more reliable DX tracking site more truthful and adexa/catereq not being truthful about dispatch 10 days later.
I could go online now and order the same, it is showing in stock and with expedited delivery options to pay more for quicker service.
Have raised dispute with credit card company to get my payment back.
Do not use this firm. They keep your money without any communication at all.
Search Adexa and see it is the same story for most other people.
This is just an Adexa rebrand due to there reputation. I Have spent 4 hours on hold them as a fridge as it arrived smashed to bits. Driver left before I could check over the parcel. Said that I would need to pay £120 to return the parcel. Having to start a charge back with my bank to get my money back. Awful customer service, No complaints are dealt with. Avoid at all costs
this is a new company name for adexa do not buy its all a massive scam.
I bought large trays from them and I want to return them. I've tried calling them but they're not answering, neither by email nor by phone. I'm in a big problem. How can I get them back and my money back?
Same director as adexa direct , In the middle of a court case for a faulty good .Stay Clear
This is just Adexa rebranded as of 2025. Same address, directors etc. Don't be fooled. Check Adexa reviews before buying anything as you will have the same experience.
