Once they get your core back, it's almost impossible to get a hold of them. It took over a month to get my refund.
We were well on our way to a 5 star review. Then everything went south when I sent my core back. I used the website to initiate my core return. I did so well within the 10 day period (of which I have records). After 2 weeks without my $650 refund, I decided to e-mail them through the website. To do so requires an order number. That's when I learned that my order number had mysteriously vanished. I got a message saying there's "no record" of my order number. Therefore, I can't e-mail them. Thinking it could just be a glitch, I remember saving an e-mail that had contact information for them at the bottom. It came from one of the infamous "DoNotReply" e-mail addresses and had the familiar "Do not reply to this message" statement at the top. At the bottom, I finally found the message starting off with "If you have any questions, please feel free to contact as at..." and then was shocked to see the same "DoNotReply" e-mail address that doesn't accept messages. So, literally the only way to contact these people is by phone. So, I called. Then I get the "We're experiencing unusually high call volume" message and am told to leave a message. Do I get a call back? Of course not. So, I keep trying. I eventually get through to someone who, instead of refunding it, initiated for the core to be picked up. This is strange because, having just typed in my order number, he should have known that. So, I corrected him and told him I needed my refund. For some reason, to look that up, he needed the Bill of Lading number from the trucking company that THEY arranged. Of course, I don't have that. They should. I had nothing to do with that transaction. That was part of why I chose them. All I had to do was sign in and click a button and they arranged the pickup. I'm not even told what company they use; much less have THEIR Bill of Lading number from the company THEY arranged 3 weeks prior. So, I have to jump through hoops to find out who picked up the engine at the shop and track down the BoL number. I call back with it and get a message again saying they're too busy to take my call and that I have to leave a message. I go on battling with this. After a month, I finally get through to someone again. Strangely, they don't even need the BoL number this time. He just needs to ask his colleague a question and wants to know if I want a call back or if I want to wait. Since I've never gotten a call back, I chose to wait. Then I listened to hold music for well over half an hour. I eventually called again from another phone while I was still on hold on mine. After a long wait, I was surprised to get through for the 3rd time in a month. I was also surprised that I spoke with the same person all 3 times. I once again asked about my refund. He looked up my order number and responded with "Don't I have you on hold on the other line?" I told him yes but that I had been waiting for over half an hour. He told me he still didn't have an answer and that's why he offered to call me back and that he had other calls to take. I reminded him that I've already been waiting over a month for this answer. He told me he would go ahead and request to push the refund through (which is exactly what he told me the first time I ever got through to him). I asked him if he would give me a call back when he got his answer. He agreed. I'm still sitting here waiting on that call back and missing $650 from my bank account.
For what it's worth, I haven't had any issues with the engine. But I haven't even fully completed the break-in cycle yet.
Update: Within a matter of minutes after posting this, I received an e-mail from Car Part Planet that a refund has been issued and that it may take a few days to show up in my account. So, we're now at 2 stars. I'll update as we go along.
Update: I have finally received my refund. We'll go with 3 stars for now. I'm very "middle of the road" at the moment. The reason I came across them in the first place was because of their great reviews here on Trustpilot. But the last month has made it feel very scammy. So, I guess we'll see how it goes once I get the engine broken in.

Bought Used engine - Failed in 4 months
09/06/2024 - A replacement engine has been sent. Warranty team mainly talks with my mechanic. I don't know how many days this replaced engine will last. Each time I am paying closer to $2k in labor charges which is more than the purchase price of engine. The miles mentioned on the website is likely incorrect and their rigorous testing is a joke as my engine cracked only in 4 months. I strongly advise folks to get rid of their car and buy another one when engine gets damaged.
08/15/2024 - I received additional feedback from the technician. The engine is cracked inside and it's not the cooler. I am going to raise the warranty ticket and will update this review based on how it's handled.
08/08/2024 - Installation went fine by technicial and the car had been running fine until 2 days back when it was found Oil and Coolant mixed causing engine to overheat. The car is currently with the technician. He inspected and says the engine cooler has gone bad. Currently, trying to reach out to customer service. Will update the review in case they respond promptly and cover this under warranty.
03/16/2024 - I just ordered a used engine from this website (carpartplanet.com) for my 2016 Dodge Dart SXT ED8 today. I will keep this review updated throughout the shipping, engine quality test before accepting the order upon arrival, installation, and any post installation/warranty. I mentioned that my current car/engine had 105k miles on it. The used engine that I just ordered is advertised to have only 42k miles, 5 year part warranty, and mentions core return is not required as this is a used one and a shipping time of 7-14 business days. The review will be updated to 5 star or 1 star based on how well they process my order and whether their assurance becomes true.

I ordered a used engine
I ordered a used engine, and the price was very competitivecompared to other places Ilooked at, it came very quickly and looked almost new. I had no problems with shipping and everything was painless. Would definitely use again.

Ordered a used engine and never received what I paid for. I ordered a 2011 Volkswagen GTI engine. That arrived to my mechanic damaged so was sent back. They then ship a higher mileage 2008 engine instead as a replacement. And basically said take it or leave it. Different generation engine clearly not compatible. They forced me to pay 540 return shipping and 25% restock fee. For their mistake. They dragged the issue out so long. It’s too late to dispute with the bank. So buyer beware with this company. Its policies are there to screw the customer. There are multiple reports on bbb as well. Engine was $3,300. I was left with $1900 after it all and no engine. Garage dropped the job and I had to pay all the time it was stored there because of this company refusing to do right for the customer.
Their customer service department is a joke. They put you on hold and claim it’s your fault that wrong engine was ordered. The supervisor there basically said only way I’d see all of my money back is by taking them to court. Clearly not his first rodeo. Pretty much kept pointing the blame on me ordering incorrectly, but I ordered a 2011 not a 2008.
This company hides under multiple names. (Reman-Engine) is one of them and where the order was placed.

It was so easy and painless (other than the price) but worth it. Csr was very kind and helpful.
