BUYER BEWARE!! I bought a low mileage engine
I purchased a low mileage engine, paid extra for it. CarPartPlanet sent the engine to me, at my expense. At no point did they share with me the VIN of the engine before they shipped the engine. My mechanic received the engine and installed it. I decided to run a CarFax on the VIN number that was on the physical engine and found odometer fraud. The engine I purchased was supposed to have 37k miles on it, but in fact has 145k miles on it. I contacted them and their comment back: “it’s the mileage that they gave us” … BUYER BEWARE. It seems like they defraud their buyers a lot based on what’s written in their T&Cs that you’re forced to sign before they will ship you anything. I would not buy from this outfit again, they offered me nothing to rectify selling me a high mileage engine and charging me a low mileage price. Not to mention my car is now worth considerably less with a high mileage engine installed in it. Don’t make the same mistake I did, buy from someone else.
Car part planet states below that a refund was given, but they have fought every refund request with my credit card company. I wish I could return the engine but yes it’s already installed. If mileage cannot be verified on the engine prior to selling it, then the mileage should not be advertised on your website and you should not be asking for a premium. I’ve tried to contact you via email about this matter with no response back beyond “send the engine back”. I would if I could but I cannot since I’ve already paid to have it installed, parts and labor. Consider sharing the vin number with your customers prior to shipment before they spend hundreds of dollars in shipping costs and unfortunately have a high mileage engine installed into their car when they were expecting a low mileage engine. Your customers should not need to pay the price because you aren’t doing your due diligence prior to advertising a low mileage engine. And you certainly shouldn’t be fighting a customers refund when you clearly made a mistake. Standing behind the statement “we can’t verify the mileage” is wrong… because it can be verified with a carfax. You should just be honest and say “we won’t verify, and we hope our customers don’t notice”.
Since you aren’t standing behind the quote you provided me as a part of this sale (37k miles) and giving me the duly deserved refund, you get this review instead.

The transmission arrived promptly and in an appropriate container, which was great. I did have an issue with the transmission after it was installed. It was not remanufactured correctly. It started to make noise within 200 miles and I noted metal shavings in the oil when sampled. Your service professionals were very helpful and supplied me with a replacement transmission at no extra cost. The new transmission is working with no issues. After over 1000 miles on the unit, I sampled the oil, which looks clean. Transmission operating well. Thanks.

al green, i order a engine and got a bad deal; waited 45 days no engine i was told it will be there in 14 days, still no engine plus they stop taking my calls; I had to call from another number now waiting for a refund it's been 72 hour and no refund this has been a nightmare

6R75 warranty did get one year let alone 5year
Well where to I start I buy a transmission from didn’t last one thousand miles if that call warranty company they don’t have a replacement truck been at ford for months and don’t even have the transmission core I sent to them it’s probably in someone else truck poor poor poor and 6 to 8 weeks they say to get one to shop so if the first one didn’t last 500 to a 1000 miles why would I want another 6R75 with screws missing matronix internal improperly working

10% cancellation fee and misinformation by Sales Rep
On Friday April 19, at 10:22am, I placed order number 145023586 for a used 2019 Kia Forte engine with 30k costing $2,426.00 for my son’s vehicle. I placed the order with Sales Rep George. During my conversation with him, I asked if there was a strict mileage requirement for oil changes that I would have to maintain for the warranty requirements. He responded that there was no specific mileage just needed to have the normal routine changes. I told him I was curious because I usually did my oil changes at 5-6k. He said that was fine. This conversation will be on their recorded phone calls. After I signed the bill on my email for the purchase of the engine, I went back to look at it and I could no longer read the terms of purchase. I called George back I told him this and he emailed me the terms in a separate email. When I read the terms, it said for the warranty to apply, the oil had to be changed every 3k with original receipts. It also said that all miles reported for used engines was only an estimate. Both of these terms concerned me and I decided to cancel my order. I called back Saturday April 20, at 10:30am, less than 24 hours after I placed the order. The charge was still pending on my credit card. George was not available so I was transferred to Sales Rep Louis. I explained that I wanted to cancel my order and he said he was not able to because he was in Sales, but would place my order on hold until Monday. He told me even though nothing had been done with engine, they would charge me 10% cancellation fee ($240). I asked why and he said because the credit card company would charge them 10%. This phone conversation will also be on their recorded calls. I called Chase Bank and they advised me there was no such fee for cancelling a pending charge. On Monday April 22, at 9:54am, I called George and explained my conversation with Louis on Saturday. He told me since nothing was done with the engine in that short time, I would have to pay the credit card processing fee which was around $80.00. He said he could not cancel it because he was in Sales, and transferred me to Mike. Mike said he would forward my complaint regarding the 10% charge to management. I later received an email confirming my refund, minus 10% because they charged me $240.00. Being that I cancelled in under 24 hours and the company had not done anything with the engine to incur any charges other than receive order, I found it unfair to charge a customer $240.00 just to cancel an order. I was also concerned with the misinformation about the oil change interval requirement and the purported miles (30k) on the engine after reading the fine print which stated miles were only an estimate.

I’m disappointed
Bought a engine in 2022 under my moms name (55k miles on it) bad enough it takes almost a month for delivery, it was installed in June, after a month of driving it, the engine started overheating. changed a leaking thermostat fixed it , a week later started overheating again i stopped driving it (end of June) , i was broke couldn’t do nothing , decided to change the thermostat again and fixed it. at this point it was the end of august. Time goes by everything was fine up til December. The car wasn’t holding coolant and the engine was overheating again took it to a shop they said it was the head gasket ??? At that point i was defeated my brother had just passed away a month ago and i had just quit my job i was in no position mentally and financially to deal with the car. so i let the car sit for good. sept 2022 i had 133381 on the odometer right now as of April 2024 i have 145,779 ,it’s crazy to say after 2 years and spending over 3k I’ve only driven the car for 5 months and under 20k miles it’s crazy. I read the reviews there customer service seems like a scam in order for your warranty to be valid you have to tell them the current miles at the time of the engine’s installment? Lmao i wish they would tell you that or have the option to put the miles at the time of purchase because now I’m literally ruined 😄what can i do???. Most reviews say customer service is a scam and they give you the run around for months. so iguess it would be pointless for me to even contact them for help. Please shop somewhere else hopefully they will have Better products and move with integrity. It’s Disappointing you get a engine with 55k miles on it you think it’s good and it’s not and come to find out your stuck with it with no help . I mean please feel free to tell me I’m wrong and you actually CAN help because at this point what should i do??
