I looked at a few CV companies and CV people appealed because the package and process involved was clearly articulated and favourably priced. I worked with Angelica and found the experience positive. The telephone interview questions really pulled out abilities and achievements I had been diminishing. The finished CV has actually given me confidence in my abilities and a boost to my self esteem regarding my future employment and the fact that I am seeking to transition out of my current industry after a career break. I found the technical process of a cloud based collaborative platform easy to use. There is a chat function, and opportunities to review the product before signing off. Really good interaction, quick turnaroud from Angelica, but I didn't feel pressured to respond faster than I could.

Review for CV People / Careers Expert Service – Executive Level Service

I used CV People / Careers Expert Service for their Executive-level CV and cover letter service but, unfortunately, found it was not suited for Executive level applications in the New Zealand Public Service. The documents provided used language and terminology that would likely not align with public sector recruitment expectations.

Despite requesting a writer with experience in public sector executive recruitment, I was matched with someone from a private-sector technology background, which was not fit for purpose. Additionally, I found it challenging to get adjustments made or to reach customer support. Response times for emails were slow, and phone calls were not returned, making it difficult to resolve the issue.

While I appreciate that many customers may have positive experiences, I personally found the process unhelpful. After ongoing discussions, I eventually received a refund, though it took 36 days from when it was initially promised.

For those considering this service, I’d strongly recommend asking for the credentials of the writer assigned to you before providing your credit card details. Despite prior assurances, I was still not matched appropriately. While this service didn’t work for me, others may have a different experience.

Based on my experience, I would question whether this service is truly suited for Executive-level applications in the New Zealand Public Service.

Top class professional service, excellent support at capturing key points to be included in a CV. Initial meeting was very focused to extract key points. I am extremely pleased with my CV format and the summary of my skills and experience. If you were designing a house, you would hire an architect. My assigned agent, Angelica M, was great and listened to what I needed in my cover letter and CV. There is an initial call to go over what I wanted in my CV and letter, with Angelica M suggesting things that I hadn't thought of. The cover letter was written in such a way as I can edit where applicable when applying to different companies.
