Ordered expecting 2-3 day delivery, initially asked to pay extra shipping fee (illegal in the uk to not publish all costs at point of sale). They did dispatch without cost via another courier, but item never arrived and 11 days later and neither the courier (DX) or CBM can let me know what’s going on.

They say you don't know how good a company is until you experience their aftersales service and this is the case here:
I purchased a battery from this retailer and within 10 days it failed to start the car. I did the usual voltage checks on the battery and car alternator and found the battery to have one or more defective cells (rapid discharge). On contacting Car Battery Market, I was told that it would have to be returned for testing and I would have to wait for a replacement. I reluctantly agreed, as they organised pick up of the defective battery the next day. Both my wife and I were at home, but no-one knocked at the door. I contacted the retailer, as it was impossible to contact DX Deliveries. They claimed that the delivery driver had been to our house and had a photo of our front door taken from outside the boundary gate and disputed I was telling the truth. They said they would need to investigate it further, but that they would always side with the courier and I would now have to pay for any pickup!! I demanded a refund, as I couldn't wait for a replacement and was angry that they basically called me a liar. They refused the refund, so I am now pursuing this through the credit card/payment company.

I have now bought the same quality battery from Amazon at the same price, but delivery is free with Amazon and guarantees on refunds/replacements are significantly better than this Car Battery Market.

looking for 2 batteries for 2003 Toyota landcruiser.Chose Varta as best match for existing Toyota batteries as to size and specification,good price and location of poles and BD had both.Delivered next day by standard delivery.Good service.

Absolutely appalling service. Wrong battery sent. Tried calling well over a dozen times and resulted to emailing. Paid £25 for a courier to collect. Waited in all day and was a no show, back to emailing again and rebooked. Once again waited in all day for yet another no show!
No refund for courier or the battery. One month on I am £100 down battery still sitting in my hallway. Mo apologies no attempt to rectify the situation!

Was looking for a new battery for my GLA and found this company which turned out to be a great choice, price fully delivered was half of all others I had looked at. A small note to those who own a GLA or other Mercedes is that the cable terminals need a small alteration to fit the battery.

Ah, if I'd only read the reviews here first. Paid £25 for next day service. I paid on the weekend and knew it wouldn't get sent until Monday, but I paid the extra as I needed it Tuesday. Waited in all day but it never arrived. The online tracking showed they were within about half a mile of me at one point, but then went back to their depot. It arrived at the end of the following day. No apology from the company, just an 'e-shrug' email of 'it sometimes takes longer'. Refuse to refund the £25 back down to normal price, given they didn't give me the £25 service. Passed it off as the problem of their delivery partner. Like they have nothing to do with it. Ah well, read the reviews folks.

It took significant "back and forth" and a bank chargeback threat before they settled. Ignorance of the law is no defence; retailers are legally required to refund standard delivery costs. I used AI tools to quote the legislation and draft professional challenges, which finally forced them to comply.
I am reporting this to Trading Standards and hope my challenge encourages the company to change their practices and honour statutory rights moving forward. If you’re being short-changed, don't back down—use AI to stand your ground.
