Exceptional service
We had cause to complain about our hotel in Seville, which was in the midst of redecorating. Within the hour Byway had shipped us out to another hotel (which was excellent) and picked up the full cost. What incredible service! We also valued Byway's local knowledge and responsiveness.

Byway holdiday to Spain
Just returned from a 13 night trip to France and Spain organised by Byway. Couldn’t have been smoother. All the arrangements were clearly documented, hotel choices were great, and support was near instant when I had an odd question.
I’ve previously done this type of holiday DIY, but I don’t think I’ll be doing that again.
Thoroughly recommend.

Byway delivers again
This was my second trip with Byway. They are courteous, constructive, reliable, knowledgeable, patient with oldies (!) and very speedy with support when needed. Eurostar cancelled our journey with no notice. Byway were on the case in minutes and helped us to a hassle-free solution.

The whole trip was extremely well put together. Suggestions from Byway on a few minor changes to our itinerary was spot on. Communication between Byway and us were excellent.

Fantastic Support
From the USA, we were looking for a tailored train trip through Europe and Byways gave us the product we were looking for.
Byways provided an easy format to tailor a customer trip. Just tell them which cities you want to visit and for how long and they do the rest. Plan you train route make hotel reservation. The only thing I would caution is once your trip is planned review the hotels and make changes if needed. Our hotels ran from Great to so-so but our fault for not reviewing and making changes (which Byways makes easy).
The thing I can not say enough about is the support. In both the planning phase and help during your trip it is FANTASTIC. Your questions are answered promptly and throughly.

Smooth travelling from start to finish
My wife and I are first time users of Byway and we'll definitley be back.
They organised 12 splendid, separate train journeys and 3 lovely hotel stays for us (we self organised another 3) and everything, with the exception of DB, went so smoothly, and when DB nearly let us down the Byway team were there on WhatsApp ready to step in to save the day.
Their online tutorial on how to use the Interrail App and their flexibility in setting up our trip were so welcome and useful for us.
Absolutely 1st Class !

Let Byway and the train take the strain!
Byway took away all the fear of travelling solo in Europe. They arranged everything once I had told them where I wanted to go. Their staff were so helpful even in response to basic questions- and seemed to work all hours! They offer an emergency service but fortunately all trains ran according to plan for me. Im definitely going with them again.

Made train travel almost seamless
Made train travel almost seamless. Very good customer service and quick response times on WhatsApp. Only Eurostar experience coming back into UK was a let down with the usual border control staff bad attitudes and dire comprehension of any disability.

Slow travel in Scandinavia
Byway helped us put together a tailor-made itinerary for a rail trip to Denmark and Sweden, including seat reservations and a ferry crossing of the Baltic Sea.
Despite significant rail disruption on the first day, we were able to complete the first leg of the journey via a different route, with support from Byway, who kept in touch with us and warned our hotel we would be late.
We enjoyed relaxed travel around Denmark and into Sweden on mainly regional trains, stopping in four different places to explore cities and the northern tip of Jutland.
Travelling slowly was an important part of the experience and crossing the Kiel Canal on a high bridge was an unexpected highlight.
Byway recommended some very good hotels, located conveniently for rail travel and offering excellent breakfasts.
We enjoyed planned visits to museums and galleries, typical Danish food and a few surprises along the way. Our journey plan from Byway contained some helpful suggestions.

Byway travel organised all train and bus tickets, timings and reservations and hotel accommodation. Their communication customer service was excellent, both before and during the holiday. The hotels they chose were lovely and easy to get to from the station. I will definitely be using them again. Highly recommended!

Firstly perhaps we were naive to…
Firstly perhaps we were naive to presume ByWays would have chosen hotels close to transport hubs, be it bus station or train station. Also we presumed each overnight stay would have allowed us time to explore rather than arrive, eat, then set alarm for early start the next day. So all in all we reckon 4 of our destinations were a waste of travel and money. One in particular was an overnight in Casablanca, arrival time 18:30 approx, from arrival at train station to hotel at the airport would have been an hour with the next leg being a train at 07:00 the following morning??? Then Nimes, two overnights there arriving evening leaving early. A hotel in Madrid was actually in a commercial district outside of the city making going for a walk about pointless amongst office blocks and warehouses. Sadly we won’t use Byways again as we reckon we could have organised a far better trip to Morocco ourselves.
We did contact the company who did eventually sort us with hotels better placed for us, but not before initially asking for more money, however when we pointed out cheaper options they didn’t charge us any extras.

When booking directly through our website, our system defaults to the most cost-effective hotel options with the option of changing hotels or room-types if something different is preferred. However, we recognise that in this case, it unfortunately led to inconvenient locations and a trip pace that didn't match your preferred travel style. We’re actively reviewing how hotel selections are displayed during the booking process to ensure pacing and locations are completely clear prior to confirmation.
We're glad you contacted us while away so our on-ground team could step in, rebook central accommodations, and adjust your arrangements at no extra cost to ensure the rest of your trip ran smoothly, although I am sorry that you had to source the hotels yourselves as we do aim to do this on behalf of our customers (we would prefer you had the chance to go and enjoy time exploring the city while we do that work for you in the background!).
We completely understand your hesitation about booking online again. Should you decide to give us another chance, we’d love to connect you directly with our Trip Design team. They hand-craft itineraries around your exact pacing, budget, and location preferences so there are no surprises along the way.

Highly recommended...
This was our second trip with Byway and we would not hesitate to use them again. The care taken to plan your trip with you and the prompt efficient support provided if needed, while you are away are key to the experience. It really is your trip, but their suggestions are worth listening to. For example we added travelling the Bernina route over the Swiss mountains to our trip, but using the ordinary railservice not the fancy Express to keep the cost down and it was very well worth it, quite amazing!
The hotels are well chosen and sited with good value breakfasts usually included. If their suggestion doesnt suit you generally they offer alternatives.
Things do happen when travelling abroad, for example on a day with 4 rail journeys, the first was stymied by a long delay which turned out to be caused by unexploded WW2 ordnance by the track and which blocked a sizeable chunk of network while it was sorted over 24hr. Byway swiftly sorted a new set of trains within minutes and got us moving so we managed to get our our Bernina trip and to our final destination of the day albeit a bit late.
