I have recently tried to purchase a boat through Boatshed Scotland . Not a good experience . Although I really liked the boat and was a cash buyer I failed to purchase. This brokerage seemed to put obstacles in the way ,didn’t reply to emails . it took 2 months to view boat , mainly because of my direct contact with owner .if your thinking of selling through them don’t bother ,

I can only comment on boatshed scotland. What a complete waste of space. I have attempted to arrange a viewing 5 times over two weeks and not had the basic courtesy of a reply.
I hope people selling boats in Scotland aren't paying for the privilege of making boatshed look successful.
On the plus side it means have found a boat privately and therefore cheaper. I won't be using these loans to sell mine

We have been totally let down by boatshed Isle of Wight please stay clear completely been mislead sold us a boat that needs a engine rebuild.

Angus at Boatshed did a great job marketing my barge and always seemed honest, available and communicated well. I'd recommend him and them to anyone looking to buy or sell a boat and mooring in London.

Sold my boat through boat shed ESSEX Jayne and Chris did a great job and are extremely nice people. Wouldn't hesitate to use them again and highly recommend.

I've just bought a boat through Boatshed.Com. An excellent experience end to end. The marketing was professional and the details of the boats for sale are clear and informative. The local broker (Suffolk) is highly experienced, the head office team handled the admin aspects efficiently. I would definitely use them again; and recommend to others.

I made a HUGE mistake by trusting Boatshed and I will never do it again.

WHAT HAPPENED:

- I Sold my boat via Boatshed Albufeira - Algarve - Portugal.
- Boatshed (Gary) acted as intermediary, taking the money from the buyer, transferring it into my account, and delivering the boat to the buyer
Boatshed asked me to sign the sale agreement but never asked the buyer to sign it (or never kept a copy)
Boatshed didn't check if the buyers information was correct (the address put by the buyer in the sale document doesn't exist)

THE RESULT:

The new buyer never bothered to be available to change the registration name and that I have to pay the boat tax, even if the boat is not mine anymore, as it is still under my name.

HOW I WAS -NOT- HELPED BY BOATSHED - GARY:

- Boatshed / Gary claimed they were actually not an intermediary (.. they made the transaction, transferred the money from the buyer to my account, gave the boat to the buyer, asked me to sign the sale document, gave the signed document to the buyer.. but they are not the intermediary?).
- They also claim and that they don't know where the buyer is

Boatshed is washing their hands on the situation and deny their mistakes/wrong doing.

PS: I also complained about it to Boatshed.com: the answer was that each Boatshed broker is independent and that.. Boatshed is not responsible (so much for the claim of a 'code of practice' in their site).

I'll be happy top show proofs if needed.

Bought my first boat through their brokerage. The advice and help I received was second to none. It felt good to deal with a company that cares about its customers and the product that they sell.
