I recently purchased the Julius Winged…

I recently purchased the Julius Winged Bed and I absolutely love it. The customer service has been amazing from start to finish and when they arrived to put the bed together the two men were so friendly and helpful. Would definitely order from this company again. Highly recommend.

Shocking customer service

I ordered a bed over 3 weeks ago. The bed arrived within 8 days of ordering, but was a different bed to what I ordered, and it was extremely damaged. I called the following day to ask for the bed to be collected and replaced with the bed that I had ordered originally. This was 2 weeks ago, and the bed has still not been delivered and I am now being asked which parts of the bed are damaged so that they can send replacement parts?! I just wanted the bed I ordered.
I have now requested a refund, to which I am told will need to be sent to management to be approved. However, every time I ask to speak to a manager, they are apparently in a meeting!

Customer service is shocking - they rarely answer the phone, and when they do, it is the same person every time and they mumble and sound as though they are under water! will never order from them again! and i still have no bed...

Great customer service

Even though the delivery of our bed was cancelled on the day through no fault of their own, the company were prompt to inform us and resolved the situation quickly and kept us well informed. We were delighted with our purchase and would be happy to recommend them to friends and family. Overall satisfied customers

Really happy with our purchase and bed universe.

The customer service from Jade was excellent always answered my questions in a timely manner.


The bed is built really well and was easy to put together.

My only concern was the delivery drivers didn't help bring it to our room.
So had to get the wife to help, might be a problem if you lived by yourself.

Also we didn't use the bed legs as it made the bed to high and we felt slightly unstable.

I ordered from Bed Universe due to…

I ordered from Bed Universe due to their 5 * reviews. I paid £389 for the cream bed frame shown on their website. I was then given my delivery date which was over 6 weeks!! I decided it was too long to wait and seen as I was still in my 14 day cooling period, which most companies do, I decided to cancel the order but was told I'd be charged 30% as the bed is made from for me 🤔. Today my bed was delivered the quality is good however I have purchased bed frames off ebay at a £100 less and the quality is just as good. Then they sent me slats instead of the black board that opens out even tho the packing department was left a note? The driver said use the slats for now and they will send you the board? Erm maybe in another 6 weeks time. Fortunately I put a note on the order form, took photographs and kept emails. I did start with a 2* but I've adjusted it to a 3* as they have agreed to give me a 5% discount due to the slats.

Do not buy if you have nothing to sleep on in the interim!

My experience purchasing a bed from Bed Universe was horrendous. I moved into my new house and ordered the bed in advance but was prepared to sleep on the floor for a few nightd as the website advises 2 to 3 weeks. Delivery timescales is not as stated on the website. My delivery date was scheduled for 5 weeks after I placed the order. When I queried it I was told this was their specialist courier soonest delivery but Bed Universe would check for cancellations to bring my delivery sooner. That was not done and I had to follow up only to get a delivery date a few days earlier than the original date.

On the date of delivery I got a text at 1:30am from the courier to say they were arriving 4 hours later. Delivery drivers turned up, talking loudly, dropped the bed just over the threshold of my front door. Then I was missing parts. Contacted Bed Universe requesting next day delivery for the parts and they weren't received until a week later. I was missing half the knobs to go under the bed to raise it off the floor so couldn't open any of the drawers and one of the screws to attach the headboard to the bed was also missing. Bed Universe cannot be contacted by phone, only via email, during their office hours which is a standard weekday week.

The only reason I did not give 1 star is that the bed looks nice and I did get responses by email. A number of apologies especially with the missing parts but it fell on deaf ears when I still had to wait a week to receive them given their size and that it could be sent by post. The waiting for delivery and the missing parts did not make this purchase worth it and I will not be recommending to family and friends.

New house new bed!

From ordering, to communicating about delivery and the actual delivery all went as promised. Geat bed once assembled, looks and feels luxurious.
Would recommend this company

Avoid - Total SCAM

I've never received such terrible customer service. I was called on 08/03/23 with someone telling me my bed would be delivered on Friday (10/03/23) and someone would call me the day before to arrange the delivery slot. The day before came and I didn't hear from them, I tried emailing, calling, messaging via the app & Instagram and no one would respond to me. Then the Friday came and I made arrangements for someone to be there the whole day to take in the delivery. The delivery didn't come and at around mid day, Bed Universe sent me an email saying my bed wouldn't arrive as the couriers van has broken down and my delivery would be prioritised on the next slot. I emailed back saying I'm home the following Monday and would like it delivered then. They said 'our couriers don't work like that' and refused to provide an alternative date. Constant emails to them and they still won't confirm amy dates. It is now 16/03/23 and I have since requested a refund and they are insistent that they will not give me a refund without a 30% deduction. This is wholly unacceptable and I still haven't received any refund despite requesting it days ago. This leads me to believe this is a scam, I have notified my bank and will also notify Trading Standards. £600 loss for me. Absolutely shocking.

UPDATE, based on reply from seller:
I could go on and rebuttal every point you made (which I have done in our emails) but here are a couple of main points:
Bed Universe arranged to deliver and informed me of this delivery at 9.23am on March 13th - this delivery was scheduled for the same day with zero prior notice, not even on the tracking sites.

As for the delivery, Bed Universe told me at first the van broke down, then apparently they didn't want to put the courier at risk so they cancelled the deliver, then another story of how the Bed was moved from van to van.

They still have not refunded me anything (not a penny).

Plenty of other poor reviews on this app and I would encourage readers to look at these too, in order to verify my comments.

We are sorry, yet disappointed to see you have left us a negative review.

We would like to however add a couple of points to your feedback, which we feel are essential in explaining this ordeal.

Here is a brief breakdown –
Your delivery was scheduled for Friday 9th of March, however that day the UK had experienced severe snow. Our courier attempted to proceed with deliveries that day, however unfortunately the van had broken down. In our attempts to not let our customers down, we shifted the contents to another available delivery van. As the weather was getting worse, we unfortunately had to inform you that the delivery could not go ahead, with our sincerest apologies given.
We understood that this was not convenient for yourself, but the roads were not safe.

Upon our return to the office on Monday morning, we chased with the courier for a new prioritised date for you. You stated you would like a full refund, due to your delivery cancellation, however we mentioned that unfortunately a 30% restocking fee would apply if you were to proceed with this.

Our 30% restocking fee is stated on our website under our terms and conditions for customers to review before they place their order. Our items are considered a specialist bespoke handmade to order item, and nothing is taken off a shelf. This is to cover the costs of loss of materials and overheads, as this causes a financial detriment to Bed Universe.

Once we explained our policy to you, you then sent us an email at 13:12pm and asked us to deliver on the same day. As this was already midday, and our couriers had other bookings to adhere to, we unfortunately informed you that this was not possible, with our apologies.

Our couriers also work set days during the week, and work in different postcode locations, so they were located in the opposite side of the UK on that day, adhering to deliveries which were already booked and accepted by other customers.

I am pleased to say, our admin team arranged for your bed to be delivered with our partner couriers, XDP EXPRESS which is out for delivery for you.

I would give this company 0 if I could…

I would give this company 0 if I could the worst customer service ever. Blocked my number and yet all I did was ring no voice mails messages. One response to numerous emails only to say bed not deliver d as conveniently van broke down with no new delivery date which should have been next day really and chat , what a joke been on chat since first thing and not a single response. Is this company a scam, have I lost my money? Do not use them. I can’t even say the quality of product as haven’t got it and don’t know if I ever will and can’t go the bank and ask for money back yet as the delivery could come one day
Update a week later still absolutely nothing the worst customer experience ever, just one lie after another with no proactive updates. I have sent over 30 emails with 5?responses each making a false promise of an update and a chase. Avoid this company like the plague.

I am over the moon with my gas lift…

I am over the moon with my gas lift ottoman silver plush sleigh bed.
Great service from when I ordered it online. I was worried as realised that u had ordered the wrong material/colo and they replied to my email very quickly. Also I explained how u needed it asap and it was delivered within a week without paying the extra cost. It looks fantastic and our mattress fits perfectly. Great storage space underneath.
From my experience I would recommend this company 100%. Thank you Bed Universe.

Fabulous experience from start to finish with this company. Our bed arrived and was so easy to assemble. Delivery was very quick and I absolutely love it.
I chose the grey naple color and it looks beautiful. So thrilled with our new bed, thank you so much!

Poor customer service

Bed arrived at 8pm and on first inspection looked great, however the problems arose when I tried to assemble the feet and the pistons of the ottoman. One foot wouldn't connect, and the pistons were put on incorrectly so that you couldn't connect them to the top base. Tried calling Bed Universe on numerous occasions but the phone is never answered. The only way to contact is through email or messenger. I found this frustrating as I like to talk to someone. The amount of emails back and forth to try and get this resolved was ridiculous they want photo evidence/video evidence, 'have you tried this' 'have you tried that'. Eventually they sent out an engineer to 'fix' the bed. I agreed on a 9-10am timeslot but on the day they were coming I got a call at 7am to say they would be here at 7.30am! Not ideal as we were all getting ready for school/work. They came and replaced/fixed the problems but then they tried to get me to hand over £50 in cash to them for 'fitting the bed'. Not great customer service Bed Universe. Nice bed but too much hassle if something is not right.

I was unsure of buying a large piece of furniture as a bed online.
No need to worry whatsoever. The bed is gorgeous, communication throughout was fantastic and the service from everyone was outstanding. The quality is so much better than other high street brands I visited.
Highly recommend Bed Universe and would definitely use again.
