"Claims" Policy is Terrible Customer Service
Terrible company where the only possible way to get a refund is to wait 72 hours and submit a claim. My claim was auto-denied after they sent my order to the wrong address and now I'm out $100. How can it actually be a company policy to tell customers to file a dispute with their bank? I will never be buying from them again.
Unprofessional Staff in the Athleta store
Staff in the Athleta store in the Market Fair Mall, Princeton NJ were not friendly at all. Nobody greeted me when I entered into the store. When was the time to check out, the female cashier left me in the middle of checking out and serving another customer. I thought that was not professional.
I made a significant clothing purchase…
I made a significant clothing purchase from Athleta, but unfortunately, my latest order never reached me. Despite my repeated calls, I was informed that I had to wait until the package was received before I could get a refund. This delay is not acceptable, and as a loyal customer, I should not have to resort to disputing the charge with my credit card.
Missing Item - HORRIBLE EXPERIENCE
My package went missing and I too was told to fill out the online form and someone would contact me in 3 days. Nobody ever contacted me and when I called they were NOT helpful and told me to "dispute with your bank"? After spending thousands of dollars with them over the years - I WILL NOT shop Athleta or it's sister brands. For what that's worth...
Horrible return policy
I spend thousands of dollars at Athleta between my two daughters and myself. I recently took a shirt back and they would not accept it because it was 48 hours over the 30 day return date. I didn't even know the return policy changed. 30 days is just not enough for a working mom!
HORRIBLE CUSTOMER SERVICE
I purchased a tank top at the Mission Viejo CA location. Wanted to exchange it and was over the 30 day return/exchange deadline. I understand the policy has a time frame. But I wasn’t interested in getting my money back, just getting a smaller size, which the same color and smaller size was sitting ON THE RACK! My item still had tags on and in brand new condition. Again, I wasn’t looking to get my money back, just get the right size, which was hanging right there on the rack! AND I had three other items I was looking to buy, so they were also turning away additional business! Manager said they couldn’t help me. UNBELIEVABLE! I have never heard of such a rigid, anti-customer policy! Thanks to this experience, I will never shop at Athleta or any other Gap brand and will tell everyone of this horrible experience!!
Horrible customer service
Horrible customer service. I bought a product online. Went to go return it at kierlands in Scottsdale and Eileen The manager wouldn’t return it or exchange it because the tags were off literally just got it in the mail. Never had it on I would never buy another product from them again and I use to shop there more then louloulemom NEVER AGAIN
poor customer service
An item was missing from my package. I called customer service to ask for them to ship a replacement for the missing item. They refuse to ship a replacement and ask me to fill out a form in 3 days which will then be reviewed in 3 days. I'm jumping through hoops due to their error. Their escalation department refused to help. I will not be shopping here again.
Terrible return policy…
Ordered pants online as I am busy and driving to the mall to shop doesn’t make sense. They have a 30 day return policy and will accept nothing back after that. I tried to exchange for another Athleta item and it was over 30 days and they wouldn’t allow me. I will never shop there again! I highly recommend you shop from a vendor who has a more generous return policy. For the amount of money they charge for polyester pants you would think they would allow a longer return policy.

Athleta has the strictest policy on price adjustments of all clothing stores I purchase from. I bought 2 dresses that dropped in price 30% since I purchased them. I called today assuming they'd provide a refund but was told that since the date of order was two weeks ago there would be no price adjustment. Most quality clothing stores allow a month - and often from date of delivery. One of the dresses hasn't even been received yet due to back order!
Hole in brand new top…
Over the winter I ordered several items. This morning I put on a sleeveless top for the first time and saw there’s a hole in one shoulder. It’s small but too noticeable to wear the top to the gym. Considering the cost of the top, this is very disappointing. I imagine it’s too late to get a replacement. This was my first experience with Athleta after having it highly recommended by a friend. Not likely to order again..
No one is empowered to actuallyl do customer service
Purchased 3 items on line, received 2 of them via UPS and the 3rd was backordered. The 3rd item finally shipped via UPS but then was transferred to the USPS for final delivery. Just about a month later the 3rd item has not arrived, it is listed as "in holding" when I track it. Athleta tells me to contact USPS to get it, I do and they deem it lost. Call back to Athleta and they tell me to wait longer for the delivery. I wait and call back again. Finally, it is inside of their time frame for a refund. They tell me I have to file a claim (can't just give me a refund) and send me an email to get the form. Can't use the form because my order number still has that one item listed as in being in process of being shipped. Call back again, and they tell me to call a different number.
Absolutely ridiculous, I have to keep calling and speaking with different departments when each one tells me it is lost and not delivered but another department has to handle it. Actually do customer service and just take care of it.
I purchased 2 yoga tops on sale
I purchased 2 yoga tops on sale, same style, one with short sleeves, other with long sleeves. When checking out, they offered the long sleeved on on sale as well. I purchased both tops. Unfortunately, both were too large. I went to return them and the long sleeved one is a final sale so I cannot exchange it for a smaller size. I spoke with customer service who I could barely understand due to her accent. She gave me a website that I could list and sell the item myself "and usually get most of my money back." She placed me on hold 2 times to "check with her team" and came back with the same recommendation. I just purchased the shirt a week ago. I will not be shopping at Athleta again and will not recommend the company to anyone. Their exchange policy is poor.
Deceptive advertising
I just bought a pair of pants from Athleta. When they arrived the label
said Old Navy. If I wanted Old Navy clothes I would have shopped there. I don’t find their quality as good and was wanting to try an Athleta product. I think this is really deceptive. Needless to say they were sent back as the fabric was not great and the sizing was off.
Horrible customer service
Unfortunately, my experience at Athleta left me very dissatisfied. On 5/21, I placed an order online for pickup at my nearest Athleta store, which is one hour away from my home. Two days later, I drove to the store to pick up the order, only to realize that the pants in the bag were white instead of the black ones I had wanted to buy. Upon explaining the situation to the two employees at the register, they suggested returning the online order onto a gift card and repurchasing the black pair from the store to make the process easier. I agreed, on the condition that I receive a new receipt. However, when I tried on the pants at home, I found them to be much larger than expected. After driving back to the store a few days later to return them, I was told that the pants had already been returned a few days earlier. Despite explaining the situation, I was informed that they couldn't find a receipt and could only offer me store credit. I find this unacceptable. If an employee fails to process a return properly, the customer should not have to settle for store credit. None of the store's staff members were pleasant or seemed to be genuinely interested in offering assistance.
A second issue that arose, which I did bother to address at the store, was the following. When I initially placed the order, I paid the full price of $79 for the pants. However, when I went to the store to pick them up, I discovered that they were on sale for Memorial Day at a 30% discount, (which I was unaware of until I got home later that day). Despite the staff insisting that I return the online purchase and buy a new pair in the store, they failed to charge me the discounted in-store price for the pants. Instead, they charged me the full price, and I perceive this as dishonest.
Looking at the 3-star reviews of the Hadley Athleta store, as well as the 1.7-star Athleta reviews on Trustpilot, it seems evident that I am not the only customer who is dissatisfied with my shopping experience here. Consequently, I have no intention of shopping at Athleta again, and I cannot recommend the store to others.
I really like clothes from Athleta
I really like clothes from Athleta, but they tend to be really expensive. When they have a sale, I am so excited to look at their items. I need athletic tops but every time I ask for those as category I have to go over their 10,000 or more sale items. I wish they knew how difficult and burdensome this becomes once i have gone through all their sale items several times. I just give up and go somewhere else. I am not sure that is good for business. Extremely disappointed in their return policy and customer service. Stuck with a full priced, never worn item. Can't return or exchange or get store credit. They said I could try to sell on thredup. Not helpful. Won't be buying any more athleta.

I purchased 2 bathing suit tops that appear to be defective. The elastic around it has started to wrinkle on both after wearing it twice. I went into the store in attempt to get help with the issue and they are not willing to refund or exchange them despite having my receipt.
They do not appreciate loyal customers
I placed order 12 days ago and have had several phone calls and chat sessions and I am required to continue waiting in hopes it will arrive. It has been sitting in Lombard Illinois for 6 days. Most recent call I was told that I have to wait 2 more days and then submit for refund. It was said as though this was something that should make me happy although they are required to refund for items not delivered. For my troubles they offered I have a 10% discount on future items. I think the markup is most likely more than 10% so Athleta benefits more than I do. I was supposed to be excited about this. Also was promised that the original 25% mothers day sale price would be honored if I choose to reorder. I can't understand why Athleta thinks I should be appeased with the bare minimum. I am not feeling like Athleta cares about my business as the things offered do not validated the time I have spent trying to figure out what is going on. Also one of my items is now out of stock in the size I ordered so basically I am screwed and supposedly should be happy with a refund, as though they are doing me a favor.
Awful customer service!
I ordered 4 items, 1 item never came and every time I’d call customer service they’d feed me the same nonsense that the item was scanned and that it was on its way. They refused to offer refund or send replacement item. Terrible, TERRIBLE customer service!
