Unforgettable

Unforgettable, one a lifetime, trip, conducted by the very professional and solid team.
Small ship giving you the authentic encounter of Antarctic reality, crossing the Drake passage on the board of M/V Ushuaia make you feel as a real Antarctic expeditor.
As Antarctic weather always says its last word, the team was very adaptive to make all adjustments to get the maximum for the expeditors while keeping the safety as the first priority.

The impression the landscapes Antarctica makes, not passing trough pictures or movies. It is of these things you have to go and see yourself.

Not talking, of course, about all penguins, seals, whales etc... not something to meet anywhere else.

Booking A25022026 NO TRIP. NO MONEY AFTER ASKING IT 16 TIMES.

Trip of a Lifetime

I was a passenger in a group of five on the Antarpply Ushuaia this past February 2026. We went on the Antarctic Polar Circle Quest tour schedule. Let me first say that this trip was the trip of a lifetime. From beginning to end, the staff at Antarpply were easy to deal with, clear communicators, and answered my very direct line of questioning, as I have never been to Antarctica before.
Once we boarded the ship we were welcomed by the crew and immediately impressed by some of the unique personalities onboard. First and foremost, Fabian was and is a cherished memory of the trip, attending to our needs at both the bar and the common areas of the ship. We assisted him in his talent show and it was a big hit with my group as well as the passengers. Both Carla and Jose in the dinning room were extremely attentive and very memorable, they helped make every day the best. Our expedition leader Marteen was very memorable and knowledgeable. Marteen worked extra hard to make sure we got as many destinations in as we could, flexing with the changing weather, always accommodating and forward thinking.
Overall, I would highly recommend Antarpply for many reasons:
- Smaller Ship
- Attentive and memorable staff
- Experience in navigation
- Fostering relationships with people
Again, this trip was the trip of a lifetime. Met some folks that we will remain in contact with and made memories that only few will have the luxury to do so. Worth every penny and right priced. I will be waiting to take my young son on this trip when he is older.

Cheap, so okay.

This is the cheapest way to get to Antarctica, and if you’re trying to make the trip work on a budget, this ship gets you there. Antarctica is incredible no matter how you reach it, and if this is what fits your finances, it’s absolutely worth going. Just go in with the right expectations.

The best part of the trip is the hotel staff.
They work incredibly hard with very limited space, limited supplies, and a tight budget. They make the ship feel warm even when everything else feels restricted.
Fabian, the bartender, genuinely changes the experience. Little touches like “pizza night” decorations, battery candles, snacks he puts together himself—he’s creative and he cares.
Carla, the head waitress, goes out of her way to make sure guests are comfortable and fed, even when the kitchen can’t offer much flexibility.
Overall, the hotel team keeps the whole operation running and deserves a lot of credit.

Food is where you need to be mentally prepared.
There are no snacks for sale, portions are fixed, and some meals can feel light. If you miss a meal because you’re seasick, there’s nothing automatically available later—you have to ask, and even then it depends on luck.
Evening “snacks” get taken immediately.
Coffee is honestly terrible. Tea is fine.
You will be hungry at times unless you bring your own food.
The staff try their best within the limits they have; a couple of times they brought me food from their own area when I was feeling awful. Their kindness stands out more than anything the kitchen provides.

The hardest part of the trip for me was the expedition team.
They are good people and clearly care about Antarctica, but they don’t meet the standard you expect from an Antarctic expedition.
The main issue is language: most of the team struggles with English, including the lead. That affects lectures, briefings, and explanations during landings.
Lectures feel long, unfocused, and not very engaging. I was told the Spanish ones were much better, but almost everyone on our sailing spoke English, so that didn’t help us much.
During landings, I expected more interpretation and guidance—help understanding fossils, wildlife, ice features, geography, etc. Instead, it often felt like wandering on our own without much information.
I liked the team as people, but as a customer, I was disappointed.

Some of the younger guides are energetic and could take on more responsibility. They could lead bird-watching walks, give tighter briefings, or talk more during landings. The potential is there; it just needs to be used.

The ship gives you a really thoughtful little surprise at the end, and that helped balance some of the frustration. It’s a nice reminder of how much the staff care, even when the structure around them isn’t perfect.

Overall:
I’m glad I did this trip, and the hotel staff make it feel special.
But a few improvements—better English-speaking guides, more structured talks, better leadership during landings, and honestly, better coffee and some snacks—would turn this from “budget but worth it” into something genuinely memorable.

If you know what you’re getting into, and your goal is simply to reach Antarctica without overspending, this ship does that job.

Once in a lifetime - at least for now

Embarking on an expedition cruise to Antarctica aboard one of the smallest ships is a journey that transcends mere travel; it's an immersion into the heart of adventure, a communion with nature, and a celebration of human connection.

From the moment we set sail with 130 fellow adventurers from 25 nations, we knew we were embarking on something truly extraordinary. Despite our diverse backgrounds, we quickly formed a tight-knit family, united by our shared love for exploration and discovery. As a parent traveling with my teenager, I was amazed to find even younger travelers aboard, their eyes alight with the wonder of experiencing the seventh continent at such a tender age. It's heartwarming to see parents instilling a sense of adventure in their children, and I feel incredibly fortunate to have shared this once-in-a-lifetime experience with my son.

Antarctica, with its pristine wilderness and abundant wildlife, is a sanctuary for the soul. The stillness of the landscape, bathed in ethereal light, is nothing short of mesmerizing, while encounters with penguins and whales leave an indelible imprint on the heart. For photography enthusiasts, myself included, Antarctica offers an unparalleled canvas of natural beauty, where every moment is a masterpiece waiting to be captured.

But beyond the breathtaking scenery lies a deeper lesson in kindness and camaraderie. Whether gathered in the lounge for lively conversations or finding solace in the solitude of our cabins, there was a sense of unity that transcended language and culture. The crew, led by the experienced Captain Sergio Osiroff, ensured our safety and comfort at every turn, their warmth and hospitality leaving a lasting impression on all who sailed with them.

Navigating the rough waters of the Drake Passage was a test of resilience, but with the guidance of our skilled crew, we weathered the journey with grace and courage. And as the ship glided into calmer seas, the challenges of our voyage faded into insignificance, replaced by the sheer wonder of Antarctica's icy landscapes.

As our voyage drew to a close, I found myself filled with gratitude — to the crew of the M/V Ushuaia for their unwavering dedication and professionalism, and to Antarpply for providing us with an experience that surpassed all expectations. It's an experience I will cherish for a lifetime, and one that I wholeheartedly recommend to fellow adventurers. And though it was intended as a once-in-a-lifetime journey, the call of Antarctica beckons me still, whispering of future adventures yet to come.
