Total thieves. Didn’t show up, didn’t call, provided no info when I called. Took my deposit. Run away!!

It's basically a company of thieves. Took my money, didn't show up for the move, said the dates planned were only estimates and not guaranteed then refused to refund the money which they demanded by an ACH transaction so I couldn't dispute with my bank. Do not use their services.

This company doesn’t keep their “promises”. I first contacted this company for a quote for a move from oak harbor WA to VA as we are a military family. Happy go lucky Robert said, hey we will be in the city around the time of your moving date I can provide you a discount since we will be going from oak harbor WA to Richmond VA. Which was great! I was concerned a bit as it seemed to good to be true. He assured me they would take “good care of us” and that this was a good deal he was providing us. He kept me on the phone for the whole processes as he said if we disconnect the discount will not be valid or date cannot be saved which I get. So I provided them with my bank information and signed the contract. I signed the contract !!! Only for me to call back 7 days wondering why the down payment funds were not taken out. First the lady on the phone was beyond rude when she notified me they will not be moving my family because they do not come out to this area. Which is hilarious because I see there trucks here all the time and again Robert said “we will be in your area”. Second, she changed it up and said well the dispatcher said he can’t do your move. I contacted the dispatcher and his response...”oh shucks”. I got NO notification that they couldn’t do this move...NOONE called me. Cowards. Unprofessional!!!! I had a feeling this was a scam and sure enough I was right. Trust your gut ! ✌️ glad I was able to find another reliable moving company for cheaper than what they offered me. Oh shucks American long distance maybe you will DO BETTER next time!

They burned my retired neighbors. They are a broker. They hire people who don't honor their original quote despite the fact they show up and inventory before they quote a price.. These people didn't show up for 2 days after they were supposed to. When they did show up it was in a tiny cube truck and they said it would be 2x more to get an appropriately sized vehicle.
They thought their 2 day delay (late show up) would force them to accept the extortion.
The company is a brokerage for an open casting of movers. There's no accountability. You pay money to people who are not responsible.
This puts you in the worst possible situation as a consumer. Hire a legitimate moving company. DON'T EVER USE A MOVING BROKER!
The is company has refused to refund over $5700. They think it's fair they keep money they didn't earn. What a nightmare to have to go to court to get their money back.

Do not use this company. They are set up to take your deposit and fail to provide a service. I had a move scheduled for May 28/29 movers never showed up. Called customer service and they could not tell me if/when the movers would show up. All customer service representatives identified themselves as Supervisors. All were rude, condescending and talked over me when I tried to resolve the issue. All repeatedly pointed out that the pickup date was not guaranteed however they were unable to provide any indication of when the movers would show up (One week, 6 weeks, one year ???) I was intentionally disconnected on numerous occasions. Do not use this company.

*** WARNING *** Fast talking Bob the mover will make promises he can’t keep and keep your deposit after providing no value to your move When I contacted American long distance moving and storage for a move quote, I told “Bob the mover” that I am under contract to vacate my property by an exact date and time. Bob took an inventory of my stuff and sent me a reasonable quote for my move. I had to look over the contract an sign it while on the phone with Bob. I had to immediately place a $1250 deposit to save my space on a truck I noticed after that Bob left some large items off the inventory. Bob also gave me 20 small boxes in my quote. The small box size on the contract was way smaller than what I would consider small. Bob assured me we can simply adjust on final inventory. A few days before my scheduled move, I was called for my final inventory. Bob was right, you can make adjustments. Unfortunately my quote skyrocketed and was way more than I expected. Realizing I was played by Bob, I had no choice but to pay the exorbitant amount for my move. The day before my scheduled moving day, I was called and told my truck is delayed. They will call me tomorrow. Realizing I had no backup plan for getting my stuff out in less than 18 hours, I rented a UHAUL. Thank goodness I did. The trucking company called and could not guarantee to have me out by noon. I loaded the UHAUL and moved myself. They refuse to refund my deposit. Looking for others who were bamboozled by American long distance moving and storage. Thinking class action lawsuit.

DO NOT USE THIS COMPANY. They took $1,099 out of my checking account and when I called to cancel the move after reading some terrible reviews they told me they give no refunds.They also did not tell me that a truck would arrive at my home and pick up my belongings and then take them to another location to be loaded on to another truck. I tried speaking to a supervisor but I cannot get my money back. I should have known this was a shady company when they asked for the $1,099 up front. I have canceled the move and I am out the money. BEWARE OF THESE PEOPLE. I found them on Facebook. I am now sure their positive reviews are FAKE.

Lies lies lies stay away they ripped off my 82 year old parents for $1100. Promised certain date and driver said no way it will be 1-2 weeks. After contacting American rip-off now they said they cannot guarantee less you pay for full truck. They should fire Maria she lied through her teeth knowing this was a hard requirement.

My son is moving from Pittsburgh to Massachucetts to start a new job in two days. We scheduled the move with this company with that in mind and they said that the movers would contact him 24-48 hours prior to move day to confirm. Well it’s 12:30pm on move day and no word from the company. I called multiple times yesterday and they kept saying that they were waiting to hear from dispatch. Never got back to us. Today didn’t open til 11:00am. I called several times, texted, emailed-nothing except waiting to hear from dispatch.
THE WHOLE THING IS RUN AS A SCAM. THEY WERE VERY EFFICIENT TO CONTACT US TO COLLECT THE 50% UP FRONT-EVEN UPPED THE INTIAL QUOTE BY $700 FEW DAYS BEFORE THE MOVE AND EWW WEQUESRWD MORE MONEY.
WELL ORGANIZED REGARDING COLLECTING THE UPFRONT MONEY “BANK WIRE ONLY”- THAT SHOULD HAVE BEEN A WARNING
Once they got the money haven’t heard from anyone since. All talk. No action.
PLEASE DO YOURSELVES AND FAMILY A FAVOR -STAY CLEAR OF THIS COMPANY -moving is stressful enough you don’t need someone ripping you off as well

Do NOT use this company. If I could give them negative stars I would. We gave them our moving day. One week before they called to push the date out by four days. We are moving cross country and meeting dead lines! I called to cancel the agreement and get a refund and they refused. Turns out the agreement (and yes we should have read it) says they can change your date and no refunds. So unless you have all the time in the world to get your stuff to your new destination stay away from this company.

Moving my family across the country has been a very stressful experience, but the team at American Moving came in and got the job done quickly and efficiently. I was really worried about my china cabinet, but that and all of my precious china arrived at my new home without one scratch! Thank you, thank you, thank you!

American Long Distance Moving and Storage is who I chose to move me and my family earlier this month. They were so kind and professional and got us in our new home in no time. I have been really worried about moving during this pandemic, but they did not disappoint. I am beyond thankful to their guys for getting it done in such a quick fashion! You guys rock!

We have opposite work schedules, which made it a lot more difficult for us to be able to move all of our belongings at once or to even help each other for that matter. We'd lost hope all together until a friend referred us to American Long Distance Moving and Storage. Not only did they help us move all of our stuff in half the time, but their services were also affordable, and easy to fit into our busy lives. It made a gruesome process a whole lot less of a hassle. I will definitely keep them in mind for the future.
