Beware of fake review sites, Alphaheater has clearly written many, very clever as they all look bona fide. But the product itself is very poor and does not heat up even a small room. Plus, as they a... Mehr ansehen

2nd WARNING
alphaheater/modern lifestyle have sent me false tracking information and it looked like the parcel had passed customs and was on its way to me through DHL, however I have just opened a letter from parcel force and its an extra £61.80 to have them delivered. They have not had a payment from me and a case is open in PayPal. Are 5 of those heaters really worth paying that import fee? that's a big fat NO. Altogether you can be paying out a total of £274.24 some maybe more. It absolutely infuriates me that company's get away with these strategies its fraudulent. dariontyponty
DON'T BUY THESE, THEY ARE CRAP
What went wrong?! Everything!! If I could give minus stars, I would!
We ordered these heaters because we thought we would be getting a product which did what it said on the tin. However, it was not until they arrived and we plugged one in that we realised they did not do what it said on the tin. They do not heat up any room, we tried 2 at a time in our motorhome, and they did not even heat up the area they were in! The open space in the motorhome is not that big, we had the blinds down and the habitation areas are all 100% as we have just had a habitation check. The remotes do not work unless you have them almost on top of the units, so whilst you are that close, you just might as well use the buttons on the unit. We paid extra for the remotes. The ultimate kick in the teeth we had to pay over £51 to get them released from Customs at Heathrow. We were not aware that they were not being dispatch from within the UK. And then to find that they do not do what they said they would do was very disappointing. So, now we are left with 4 heaters and 4 remotes that do not work satisfactorily; we paid extra for the 4 remotes. We are not going to send them back because it would cost us a small fortune to return them, so they will just sit in a cupboard gathering dust until we decide to throw them away. We can't even give them away as presents because it would be too embarrassing.
We have written to the suppliers explaining our displeasure to see what they are going to do. Ideally we want a full refund and have asked the company for this and we will have to wait for their response. We are also going to contact the ASA, but as they are a US product they will not be interested.
Even worse than I thought!
Even worse than I thought!
Let this be a warning to anyone thinking of buying one of these so-called heaters. After having to pay customs duty and VAT on goods I thought would be coming from within the UK (incredibly, they cost over £50 each!!!) they finally arrived today. They are tiny - with EU plugs built in!! Not only that but they are clearly poorly made - the part that plugs into the wall (or would if I lived in France) is very loose and would surely be a fire risk if I tried to insert into my UK socket via an adapter. This product is dangerous, incredibly overpriced, inappropriate for UK use and everything about my experience smacks of zero stars but TP’s minimum is 1.
It is claimed to heat a room in 2…
It is claimed to heat a room in 2 minutes. The room in question must be the size of a small cardboard box! Mine has been switched on for a whole afternoon and the difference is barely noticeable. I would not recommend that anyone buys this. Waste of money.
DO NOT EVEN ATTEMPT TO BUY THIS
DO NOT EVEN ATTEMPT TO BUY THIS. I have reported the device to Trading Standards for International goods (UKICC). As with other reviews I have read, my problems started at check out where I had a remote added for an extra $9.95, without actively choosing this option.
The so called 'Instruction Manual' (a short leaflet) makes terrifying reading and is unsafe in many environments and under many conditions, by their own admission. Terrifying spelling errors too!!
This device is unsafe as it is dangerous to plug it into lower electrical sockets (could be too close to carpet or other flammable floor coverings).
On trying to plug it in, its 'bottom heavy' design makes it lean forward out of the plug socket. It only has to heat up and drop out to catch fire and makes this a very dangerous, poorly designed product.
I'm trying to get a refund via Paypal's dispute resolution centre.
Dangerous Heaters - Made in China.
These heaters are a scam - grossly over-priced at £50+ - on eBay more like £15. The big problem is that they are Made in China and then sold under numerous brand names. They have been reported as being very unsafe, and they don’t conform to EEC regulations. I bought two for over £100 incl p&p but one never worked and the other got so hot it could have burnt my flat and others down. Requests for refunds have been ignored to date. Next stop PayPal. But like a lot of so-called instant heat heaters - Made in China - these are also not fit for purpose. AVOID THEM.
Over charged
I ordered one of these heaters and was quoted £54 in writing on their website yet when I paid for it I was charged £59. The credit card company then also applied a bank currency exchange fee. I was not made aware of this at any stage. I therefore contacted the company on the email they supplied only to find it was undeliverable. As of today I have not received the goods either.
