I’ve had a really positive experience working with Sugesh and Adam. They have been incredibly supportive, responsive, and genuinely caring throughout the entire process. What makes Academics a great agency is how responsive, kind and co operative they are. Particularly working with Sugesh has been a great pleasure, I was really struggling with employment and now thanks to all his help I have a full time role at a really wonderful school. I graduated this year and never had a full time position where DBS checks, National Insurance numbers, birth certificates and every other official document relating to my identity were involved until entering the world of education. Setting up your profile can take time if you’ve haven’t done something like this before like me! But, this company is genuinely always on the ball and on the other end of the phone to help and communicate really well all the steps. Sugesh from Academics who has been helping me the entire process has been super lovely and really helpful for me. Before each cover shift where I filled in for certain schools and before my trial shift at the current college I work at, he sent me information/ expectations about the school, spoke over the phone before and after the school day for check-ins and to ensure I was happy and comfortable. Sugesh didn’t make me feel pestered or pressured like other agencies I’ve worked with in the past and that’s what makes me appreciate him so much! He is patient and understanding. So albeit the initial vetting can be a little bit long, it’s all worth it in the end!

He is very reliable, helpful and understanding, responding extremely promptly to messages which had made a real difference in my experience. Waited 6 months for the dbs. That lost me one job as the woman booked the start before the certificate wasnt even finished, then the summer holidays started and all contact stopped, no one bothered to reply, this is in september, still havent heard from them, now near the end of october. Go else where do waste your money on them.

I received a call from Luke to discuss potential teaching opportunities for September. I couldn’t talk at the time, so I said I’d call back. When I did, I asked to speak with Luke, but he was busy. A co-worker offered to help instead and immediately began firing questions at me in a condescending manner, which made me feel very uncomfortable.

I explained that most of these questions had already been discussed with Luke and asked to speak with him again. She said he would contact me soon, but during the conversation she also made an inappropriate comment, saying, “I’m all over the place.” I have no idea where that came from, but it felt rude and unprofessional.

Overall, I am very disappointed that potential clients are spoken to in such a dismissive and disrespectful way.

As a first-year teacher, stepping into the world of education felt both exciting and overwhelming. I was incredibly fortunate to have Daniel as a support during this critical time. Awful agency, literally the worst I
have worked for. Never got me any work and the few times they did they put me in as a HLTA so they could pay me less than scale. Never returns messages or emails and point blank refuse to give a reference
