List of merchants each card type gives access to is made intentionally vague
The merchants at which each specific card is different and is not transparent at all. Even if they tell you to check their website to see which merchants they can be redeemed at it is still not made clear at all that one card type will allow you to redeem it at Amazon (for example) while another card type will NOT give you the same choices to certain merchants, even though it doesn't have any clear indication that this will be the case. It's all very vague and unclear and seems like intentionally so. So you may buy a card and think you can for sure redeem it as Walmart or Sephora but then you are locked into a specific set of merchants again with no way of knowing this ahead of time. By the time you can see which merchants you can redeem for you already had to scratch off the barcode so no chance of a return at all.
Edit: ZillionsGift's reply is what I figured it would be. "Each card is designed with a curated list of brands that align with its specific theme." Yes, that isn't the problem. The problem is there is NO WAY for the customer to tell which "curated list" they will have access to before they purchase and use the card. There is no clear distinction between CARD A gives you access to MERCHANTS LIST A, CARD B..., etc. Even though there are different card types ZillionsGift does not inform the customer that each card will allow different redemptions on the packaging. The packaging across all card types simply say they can be redeemed for many merchants and to visit the website which again does not help at all since the only way to finally know which merchants you can redeem for is to USE the card by scratching off the silver barcode and getting the card details. ONLY THEN does the customer get to realize that the merchant they wanted to redeem was not on the list after all. I feel like this is intentionally done and vague. It does not take much effort to INFORM the customer ahead of time of this major difference.
