Not cruelty free

Have tried many YSL products over the years but will not go near this brand again after discovering that they are not cruelty free. Seen some heartbreaking content about animal testing in labs and will now only buy from strictly cruelty free brands. It’s 2026 - do better. Plenty other make up brands are completely cruelty free making it easy to buy premium make up without the guilt.

Be careful -Allergic reaction
YSL All Hours Glow Foundation gave me an allergic reaction. Be careful if you have never tried it. I have purchased the foundation recently and firstly I have tried it with my regular primer and it gave me sort of dryish patches and sort of a cakey face, second time (the next day) i have tried just with my different primer thinking maybe the first primer disagreed or so, but it gave me more dry patches, so I thought to be sure that it's none of the primers, the third day i tried over a regular moisturizer and my face got burned, itchy, red, swollen and extremely dry. Had to go to the chemist to speak to someone as no sudo creme or other similar creams helped and calmed it down. Contact dermatitis I got from this foundation. I had to take antihistamines for few days, medicinal cream and buy a completely new skin care with ointment in it.
Reported originally to Lookfantastic and got a refund although they said to dispose the foundation immediately.
Also reported to YSL as it took me all week to heal, I have developed not just dry skin,but also wrinkles too and it took just over a week to get better, but all week I was at home putting creams few times a day to calm my skin down and add moisture. Now 4 days and no reply from YSL after the original email and their basic reply about so called "individual sensitivities"and basically it's not their responsibility, quite patronising response considering none of the drug store foundations caused me any allergies through out the years before and the "luxury" brand one does. I found this very condescending.
Not happy about spending extra money on the medication and the new skin care that I didn't need at all either.
So be warned, how they advertise this foundation with glossy, fresh face look and it's not it and it wasn't even giving that glow like the advertising showed so that's also false.

Misleading “Complimentary Gift” – Poor Communication and Frustrating Complaints Process

I placed my first order with YSL Beauty on behalf of an elderly relative who wanted to give the perfume as a gift. I requested the complimentary gift box for this reason, but it was not included in the parcel, and there was no notification or apology.

YSL initially claimed I hadn’t requested the gift box because it didn’t appear on my invoice. I provided proof that it was ordered, yet the response remained dismissive.

During the process, they offered a 20% refund off my order, which I promptly accepted, and then they rescinded it, informing me that I had misunderstood, and it was infact 20% off a future purchase! They only honoured it when I pushed back but this took multiple emails and a letter sent in the post to their head office. They then cited their Terms & Conditions to justify not including the complimentary item, but a T&C cannot override the Consumer Rights Act if the advertised item influenced my purchasing decision (which it did).

After some back-and-forth, they finally issued a partial reimbursement—but only via their cumbersome CANDEX system, which caused additional inconvenience.

Other TrustPilot reviews suggest this is common practice for YSL: advertising free gifts or complimentary items, failing to supply them, and then only offering vouchers for future purchases over a certain value. The alternative was to return the whole order for refund, which seems ridiculous.

I am raising this issue with Trading Standards as it seems unfair and potentially misleading to future customers. I hope YSL improves their communication and customer service to prevent others experiencing the same frustration.

UPDATE
Despite responding immediately to YSLs request for information on my order, I am disappointed that no one has been in contact with me yet.

Everything was as expected

I was worried after reading the reviews but I ordered a bronzer that is constantly out of stock. I ordered it and it arrived in a couple of days. I also got email notifications although they were delayed.

Appalling customers service

Appalling customers service!
My parcel has been lost in transit with Evri. I’ve tried to contact the courier, but they are not responding.
Had they advertised that it would be shipped via Evri I wouldn’t have bothered ordering from YSL in the first place.
I’ve now contacted YSL to be rudely told there’s nothing they can do about it!
How about using a courier service you can actually liaise with in the event of expensive parcels going missing!

Order was cancelled- Out of stock !!

I ordered some cosmetics ,order was processing e mail information etc - Then today got an email saying my order has been cancelled- out of stock- does their systems not recognise stock position on orders- clearly not . I’m left hanging now maybe go to selfridges tomorrow and buy Bobby brown or Dior for my wife instead!! I can’t recommend this service and the reviews tell the story !!!Did not do my research first - my bad!!

Missing items and awful customer service

Some of the samples AND free gifts were missing which was EXTREMELY disappointing as I placed the order for these items in mind (A bag, mirror and lip balm were the missing items). Customer support was EXTREMELY unhelpful and only offered a code valid for a month where I had to spend minimum £80, so my items are missing and you expect me to spend £80? Awful

Items missing and parcel damaged

Parcel was damaged and items missing, poor customer service from ysl, had to fill in some handwritten statement that was still not good enough, raised the issue with PayPal as items missing to skip the gruelling process of raising an issue with ysl.

Evri didn't knock at door but left my parcel in dustbin, nothing says luxury like evri's delivery practices.

Fair service.

A lot of bad reviews, but I've received what I bought.
I didn't get a delivery confrimation for 4 days after purchase which was a bit concerning, but after a call to their customer services team (no robots!) to check, it was shipped the day after and our Evri driver delivered the goods today :)

I would give zero stars if I could !!

I would give zero stars if I could !!! I’ve ordered twice now and had the worst experiences on both occasions, I would avoid this place like the plague !!! Be warned.
First time I ordered my items were damaged, second time round items were missing. And they said I could only get a refund by returning everything I ordered even the missing items, which makes no sense, I’m not a magician. I have been in touch with customer services a few times since and have got no reply, I returned all the items sent to me and have recieved no refund, so am £200 out of pocket !!!!!
I hope this helps anyone thinking of purchasing from here !!!

Absolutely terrible service from them

Absolutely terrible service from them. I see I'm not the only one suffering with their issues with Evri! Evri told me the package is "lost" but then YSL insist on my waiting 14 days - without even sending it out again, only a refund! Only offer of compensation was a 15 percent coupon for my next order - what, so it can just happen again? Avoid like the plague.

I was after a new perfume

I was after a new perfume, and after sampling red over black at duty free I decided that was the one.

Amazingly, the best deal I found was directly with YSL with a 35% discount code & lots of free minis/samples on top.

The package arrived within 5 days, well packaged & I have zero complaints.

I have never received the parcel

I have never received the parcel.
Wait 14 days to ask for refund per advice of customer service staff of YSL. I received an email from YSL beauty - asking for my prove of ID / contact the delivery company to investigate why the parcel havent arrive with their response. Also I have to write a sworn statement and sign too.
OMG, I have to do their work to check why Evri havent deliver and my innocent that I dont trick YSL Beaty.
Would never shop again with YSL beaty again if the policy still like this! You shop with expectation to receive the item, not to be treated like this.

Awful experience with order,arrived late,dirty,wet,customer care promised to resolved it,however did not do nothing.Each time send or tell different things, however it is just waist my time. Don't accept bad reviews on their site. Will not buy from them nothing after it. Liars

Great

After ordering I was concerned as they wouldn’t dispatch my order for few days, and I haven’t received order confirmation from them. I even came here to read reviews fearing that my order won’t turn up or there will be issues or delays. Well… I was wrong. My order came in 5 days after I placed it, all complementary gifts were there, order nicely and safely packed. The value was wonderful too! I managed to get 150ml libre plus whole bundle of gifts for £124. Absolutely love it! Definitely will be buying again and only directly from ysl!

Don’t order from this site

Don’t order from this site. No response from customer service. Emailed twice and nothing. Been a week and package not even been dispatched yet. Feel like I’ve been scammed. :( I’ll be contacting PayPal for advice.
