I bought a medium sized YouKube
I bought a medium sized YouKube. I want to firstly say Alan was great. However, I don't know if I'm just extremely unlucky or if this is normal, but I had a terrible experience overall and was left with a very poor finish.
I was given no initial breakdown on how things would proceed other than the fact works would begin on 19th - however, when I chased on that day to find out what time to expect the workers, I was told that first day was purely for travel not to actually begin working. This was my first growing pain, as I had temporarily moved things into my new house so I could be there for the 19th.
Anywho, without going into too much detail, there was problem after problem, from windows smashing/being the wrong size and being left to wait for an external company for over 8 hours from the original expected time to have it delivered, to the electrics not being wires properly and thus the spotlights not working and so they had to come back to fix.
However, the most frustrating part, and the reason for leaving a 2 star review was that the finish was absolutely horrendous to the point you'd think a novice had done it. There were holes in the wood everywhere, scraps, scuffed paint that's not settled, 0 caulking, and furthermore, once I removed the masking tape (which I was left to do myself) I discovered paint ALL OVER the flooring. So the paint and just dripped through all the masking tape and ruined the floor. I had to literally spend an hour on my hands and knees scrubbing it with wet wipes to get it to look okay.
I've tried reaching out to the directors to get some form of compensation for these issues and terrible end product and was given very sarcastic and condensing responses it felt like - and ultimately any response to compensation was ignored. They offered me a 'special gift' by way of a air purifier but I then discovered that's something they give to every YouKube customer upon completion, so not as an apology.
It's really upsetting and frustrating to have to write this. After forking out 10s of thousands to get this made and having it finished in such a poor way is a shame. It's made me feel nervous and distrust whether the core/important structures of the youkube is done properly, if the workers were unable to do simple glossing/painting properly.
To conclude though, it is a nice looking building from the outside and inside once you look away from all the crap but I would advise researching more thoroughly for other options, or being extremely extensive in chasing, reviewing and ensuring there's no rush on your side if you want to go ahead with youkube. Alan was nice enough to offer to come fix the issues, but he wasn't available until 2 weeks after the building was finished, and I simply did not have the luxury of time to wait around as I needed to get set up and working!
****EDIT:
This is the most crucial bit of info, and I'm saddened by the fact I did not realise this sooner.
First of all, I wrote the about review around 9pm, and a different director emailed me directly speaking profanities and unprofessional jargon about how there was lies in my reviews (simply because I stated their response was condescending - which was my opinion - you can't lie about an opinion), and he said I'm only looking for a some money back (well duhh - I already said about 4 times I wanted monetary compensation which they ignored EVERY time).
Anyway, his response was too disgusting, so I essentially cut him off after saying 'very professional...'. Now I've just come back to TrustPilot and noticed that there were 5 reviews added 1 hour after mine (10-11pm). And conveniently enough, all of those peoples reviews have almost counter arguments to my review, as if a certain director wrote them himself LOL. And what are the chances of 5 people all of a sudden writing reviews in the middle of the night after somebody has just left a bad review...Seems like the companies trying to get their good rating average back up by faking profiles and reviews. But, as I said, do your own due diligence and make your own decision, thanks.
