Writing the review for my wife she spent money here for hair extension and they only last a few weeks very bad quality
would not recommend to anyone :) cheap tacky hair like the company.
I have been ordering from Zala for around 10 years possibly longer.
From being such a longtime loyal customer I can tell the quality of the hair has changed, they put the prices up a lot (I usually buy the 20 inch halo and they had put the price up by $100 dollars) and the shades had changed.
So when this update happened I paid and extra $100 for the halo then I usually did and when it arrived it didn’t even match my hair like it used to! (Dark chocolate brown)
Not to mention I couldn’t log into my account anymore because of the website update and when I was able to get back into it all of my Zala dollars were gone.
Being such a longtime customer I had almost 5000 points.
They changed the Zala dollars system I was saving it up for the $50 dollars off but since the update they only do up to $25 dollars off now with 3000 points.
I will be trying another brand of extensions.
I bought extensions off them for years and years, the last two years. A set of their extensions only last a month before they start matting and tangling when you only take two steps. Have contacted them and they’ve sent a new pair out and then the same thing happens again. The quality in their hair extensions has dramatically dropped and the price has gone up. A set use to last over 6-10 months now not even a month . So disappointing after buying off them for years. Don’t buy their extensions

Not only are the tape in extensions the worst quality I have ever had with extensions, they matted after 2 weeks even with using products from their website which help the extensions from becoming dry, they had split ends and the breakage of the hair was absolutely horrendous. I have used their “contact us” 3 times as they never reply, when they do it’s so rude and you have no idea who you are talking to. This level of customer service is absolutely disgraceful. I have put a complaint through to consumer affairs. I waited 7 days for a reply as per their terms and conditions but all 3 times of contacting them I have received silence as I requested a refund for the poor quality of hair which does not match the description on their website.
I will NEVER EVER buy from this company again. The poorest extensions and worst customer service I have ever received.
Really happy with my halo extension!! in the light brown they have a lot of tones, so it’s not too hard to get the right colour each are pretty similar to the next. Quality is great, not heavy in weight at all
I have been using tape hair extensions for over 10 years. I have probably been purchasing Zala for 5 of those and my last set that i purchased in July this year will be the last that i purchase.
I have left many 5 star reviews for Zala in the past, all genuine heartfelt and honest reviews,but over the past 12 months i have noticed the quality of hair has dropped dramatically.
Being a long term loyal customer, i had always been happy with the quality, and the great service and super fast delivery that i had experienced.
I leave reviews when i am happy with something and very rarely leave reviews when i am unhappy with something, instead just deciding to speak with my feet and move on.
On this occasion however, i am just so disappointed and really saddened that a company i have been using for years and had been providing a beautiful quality product, is now delivery something very different to what i had been accustomed to.
Shedding: I have had my tape extensions in since the 24th July, its now 16th August, and the shedding is just incredible, the matting and knotting is horrible.
I know how to take care of extensions, i sleep with a satin sleep cap on with my hair tied loosely into a braid, and when i wash i use hair extension specific shampoo, i use quality products and also dry on low heat low speed on my dyson hair dryer with a large round brush, section the hair when drying. (I'm also a hairdresser) so i know exactly how to care for extensions.
I used to get at least 3 to 4 wears out of my tape extensions (leaving in each time for around 8-10 weeks each wear), i would have one set in and one set washed and retaped for the next application. Each set would last me approx 12 months with proper care.

Zala hair , what have you done? You changed your website and changed your packaging , and the quality of hair has been deteriorating over the past 12 months.
I would say the last probably 3-4 sets i have purchased have extreme shedding, knotting and matting after maybe 2-3 washes.
I am really saddened, I noticed drastic changes a few months ago when all the website changed and they moved to USA and now drop ship to Australia.
Zala, its a shame that you don't have the high quality standards as you previously did, everything from the online ordering experience, delivery and quality of hair has really deteriorated.
I'm really sorry to leave such negative feedback, but Its something that you need to know and should take seriously if you want to keep loyal long term repeat customers.

I tried to leave one and it’s NEVER been posted.
I ordered important items for my upcoming wedding, and Zala provided me with an Australia Post tracking number. I spent days trying to track it with no success, only to later find out it was actually shipped via Aramex, not AusPost which meant the tracking was completely invalid from the start.
By the time I found out and checked with Aramex, the parcel had already been delivered to the wrong address and now I’ve been told there is nothing they can do to get it back. I was never contacted, notified, or updated about the delivery, and no action is being taken to retrieve or replace the items.
I’ve now lost a valuable parcel, received zero communication from Zala and have no resolution for something that was meant to be a special part of my wedding. I trusted this company with an important order, and I feel completely let down.
I placed an order over a month ago and never received an order confirmation or the actual product. There was zero communication from Zala regarding any issue or delay.
Since then, I’ve been in contact with their customer service team and the experience has been incredibly frustrating. I’ve had to repeat myself multiple times, including providing my new address twice, only to be asked for it again as if they never read my previous messages. Their replies are slow (about one email per day) and show a clear lack of attention to detail. It feels like the team isn’t even reading the emails properly, which raises serious concerns about who is managing their customer service.
To make matters worse, Afterpay is continuing to charge me, including late fees, despite me pausing the payments due to the unresolved issue. It’s been well over a month, and this order was meant to be express shipping. At this point, I don’t even need the extensions anymore, yet there is still no resolution or apology.
I’ve been extremely patient and polite throughout the process. I rarely leave negative reviews, but this experience has cost me both time and money, and the lack of responsibility from this company is unacceptable. If Zala wants to be trusted by customers, they need to take their operations and customer service far more seriously.
I am so glad to see all these authentic reviews that are parallel experiences to what l have had with Zala in the past 2 years. I have been buying from Zala on and off since 2015. The only real selling point is the convenience of fast shipping. I too have personally experienced
- mix of human hair and synthetic in my extensions before.
- extensions lasting 4 weeks before shedding horrendously. That cannot happen with remy hair. If the cuticles are all facing down it would not be knotting and snapping half way up.
- lastly MEASURE your extensions before you take any quality seal off.
I was shipped 20" extensions ( it even specified it on the packaging)
My hair stylist said there is no way that is 20" , pulled out a tape measure & what do you know "barely making it to the 18" mark" .
Zala once was fast & reliable. Manufacturing issues & hair availability may all factor into these decisions for the company to push a
" close enough " product out as the same items as previously sold.
That is no only bad business, it is illegal AF. False advertising is taken very seriously by the ACCC.
Also are they even an Australian company anymore or based out of SLC ,Utah?
Anyway the gaslighting l received from calling them out on mixing synthetic hair with human . Being told l was rough and reckless with my extensions when 1 set shed fast yet the previous set didn't. It's all comical to me now reading these reviews, l AM NOT ALONE.
Save your money & invest in businesses with integrity.
If you need some quick hair for a special event & you are happy with it being a potential ONE NIGHT WONDER . I get it, zala is a quick fix.
p.s : to consumers reading this , you can buy hair the same quality on alibaba & shein these days if you have the time to wait for delivery.

The company has a generous policy of shipping out color swatches so you feel certain about your purchase. They also provided a discount code. You can't beat that. I would highly recommend them.

The quality of your hair extensions have really changed they are not as good as they used to be and i have been buying them since 2019. They are frizzy knot easily they use to be dead straight now they come wavy and even when you straighten them they are still wavy its so disappointing. And a few times i havnt even received the proper packaging i know you may run out of packaging but when you are paying top dollar you expect them to be perfect

DO NOT BUY FROM ZALA. I purchased clip in extensions 6 months ago, loved them, I then purchased another 2 sets (to compare colors), ended up keeping one of them, when I took the seal off, which once you do that you cannot return, I was mortified by how poorly made the set was, it was almost like I purchased this set from a whole different company than the current set I was wearing. I sent in an email to customer service, many times, over the past few weeks, the only one they replied to was the public review. They referred me to an email, I emailed them, again, I got a reply to send photos to “noreplyzalahair.com” lol. I responded back saying that it literally says it’s a no reply email address, they never answered. And on top of that, the second set I purchased for the comparison of colors, i shipped and returned over a week ago and I’ve yet to hear anything back about my refund, if they received the return, etc. I’m disgusted with their customer service, I’m not having to file a claim with my bank to dispute the charge, they practically robbed me of over $500.

I got express shipping to NZ, for some reason the tracking info never showed up, regardless it came super quick, faster than expected. I’ve tried MANY clip in extensions, from high end to low, never been 100% satisfied with any. These are by far the highest quality. Superrr soft and shiny, they blend naturally in with my hair, and I love that they are actually JET black. The biggest problem I come across with clip ins is the tangling and not staying straight, I’ve used these multiple times now & haven’t once had to use heat yet, they’ve kept their shape perfectly and only needed a quick brush. I bought a 5 pack which is enough for me, but the only let down is it’s a bit pricey:/ but 100% worth it, especially if you regularly wear clip ins like I do. Beyond impressed and will definitely be repurchasing!!

I have been ordering hair extensions since 2019 from here with no issues. In the last year they get really ratty and frizzy and shed like crazy. My new complaint is I decided to give them one last chance and ordered x3 tape ins on April 21. They were shipped by toll couriers and were delivered to a town maybe 5 hours from mine? tracking was never accurate. Zala wont reply my emails and nothing is at my po box and now im out $550 AUD :)

They advertise and say that it's 100% human hair, but I know it's not because I just tried dying them with permanent hair dye so it will match my dark purple hair and the color didn't take at all. I left it on for a couple hours. if it was real human hair, it would have taken to the hair color. This is false advertising.

I reached out to customer service to ask how I could go about leaving a positive review. I am just so absolutely happy and satisfied with the product, I don't even have the words! I used the ' match me' option and the color suggested was just perfect. I feel so wonderful and I get so many compliments when I use my extensions, I am just so so happy! Great quality, the hair is beautiful, natural and the extensions are easy to use. (I got the halo extensions in dirty blonde color)

I’m not happy one bit.. I received the hand tied weft extensions I got them put in about a few weeks ago.. and they were soft and beautiful a week ago they started getting really ratty and hard to brush.. it’s insane but these extensions have shedded tremendously and I won’t be buying anymore extensions and I’m going to get my money back this is ridiculous and awful hair that I received
