Inaccurate description and rude customer service
I bought a HoldUp EVO bike rack. The side of the box stated "compatible hitch size 1 1/4" - so - when I was buying a hitch for my car, I bought a 1 1/4" hitch. The rack doesn't fit. It's a 2" hitch. I tried emailing customer service to find what I was missing, and the auto-responder said they would try to respond in 15-30 days. So - I found a phone number, talked to Jack who was quite rude. I told him that after further examination, the front of the box did have a square with 2" inside of it on the front, but the side definitely said 1 1/4" in the specs, which is what I paid attention to. He said that I decided to ignore the size printed on the front, and looked at the side. And it is compatible if I buy another part.
Honestly, I think this was the worst customer service I've gotten from a US-based company pretty much ever. Their label was unclear and inaccuate, and Jack accused me of being too dumb to get the right hitch size. Now, I have to pay to get my hitch uninstalled, and pay to get a new one re-installed.
I will return this rack, and I will never buy more Yakima products. Shame on you, Jack.
Yakima FoldClick 3 E-Bike Rack - False Advertising
I purchased a Yakima FoldClick 3 E-Bike Tow Ball Rack from 99Bikes. As per the review below it is promoted as being suitable for eMTB's (Electric Mountain Bikes). I loaded 3 eMTB's onto the rack and it failed. When 99Bikes approached Yakima they were advised that I should have read the loading limits. The loading Limit for this rack is 60kg, an average eMTB is 23.5 kg, meaning that it cannot hold 3 eMTBs because they would weigh 70kg in total. Fortunately 99Bikes provided free labour to repair the rack however I now can only carry 2 eMTB's on it. I want Yakima to cease promoting this as a e-bike rack or at least provide a warning that it will not carry 3 eMTBs.
"The FoldClick is an excellent addition to the Yakima range‚ if you want an all in one rack that will work for just about any bike" including heavy eMTBs" and is easy to fit" store and use then Yakima have really hit the nail on the head."

Customer service is terrible.
Customer service is terrible.
They shipped the wrong size crossbar for the Overhaul HD rack I ordered.
Ordered a 60” medium they sent a 68” large.
Called them and they asked for a photo, no big deal so I sent it.
No apologies, no we will make this right, just oh well...
Waited a week for them to ship the correct part, no shipping or info from Yakima that it shipped, or with any tracking info. I received a notification from FedEx I had a package in the way because I signed up for that service from FedEx.
Still no return label or contact to return their mistake product so I contacted them and was asked to print the label they would email me and take it to a FedEx drop off/pick up location.
Their mistake and they wanted me to take it to a FedEx drop off location instead of scheduling a pick up at my home.
Then got snippy when I told them I wasn’t going to go out of my way to fix their mistake and they needed to schedule a pick up at my home.
Pretty crappy customer service and their shipping sucks too.
A two part order, the packing slip was correct for what I ordered, invoice was correct, boxes are clearly marked with p/n's and measurements with the part name.
2 weeks since I reported their mistake and I am still waiting for my crossbars so I can get the rack on my truck.
They didn’t even expedite the shipping on the correct part.
Maybe good quality products that are way overpriced but the customer service is very substandard at all levels. One of the CS personnel I emailed with was titled as a "consumer lead".
Hope their product is way better than the people they have working with their customers.
Yakima Rack Warranty is differcult to…
Yakima Rack Warranty is differcult to claim, I would not buy Yakima again with my experience with supports.
Yakima bike top loader failed
Yakima top loader failed on me and I lost a my $8K bike, they washed there hands and did not honor their warranty. The customer services was terrible and has caused me significant financial lost and stress. Do not buy this product.

Customer service is very bad; products not reliable
Customer service is very bad. Waited over a month for a response and then was told that the issue with my rack wasn't covered under warranty. A $1500 rack and now I am on the hook to repair an obvious design flaw so that the rack is usable again. So disappointed. Would not recommend this company to anyone.
Customer since 1990, will never buy Yakima ever again!
I have been a loyal Yakima customer and fan since the early 90's. My older Q-tower system that has a lifetime warranty, 3 of the 4 towers have the plastic cover fall off that will not work without. With piece off I have learned the entire rack is held on by a small precarious plastic tab supporting all the weight of the tower and bike/ski equipment. I contacted customer service and received the worst, unacceptable customer service I have ever received. The individual just wanted to upsell and offer me a discount to buy other products rather than warranty the item (ironically that is less than my Pro discount I currently receive anyway), and made little to no effort to find my warranty registration. What is the point of registering a product if you have to try and find an old receipt in storage. I might understand on items that are 1-5 year limited warranty, but a lifetime warranty, they should keep registration data on or what is the point in registering items. I have had 2 phone calls and 5-6 emails and neither warranty or accessory questions that I still need answers to have been resolved yet after more than a month. Shame on Yakima for worst in class service on a premium priced rack system. Yakima has lost me as a customer, and I will never recommend Yakima products if this is how they do business. Buy from other reputable manufacturers who do not cheat their way out of their lifetime warranty.
The bike rack is strong & heavy
The bike rack is strong & heavy. I had problems with directions putting this together because it wasn't clear cut (all pictures). I had to go on actually website to look at examples how they set it up and go from there. Other than that it is a great bike rack!
