Booked to see bluey for meet and greet…

Booked to see bluey for meet and greet to start at 2pm we was there at 1.45pm only to be told that there was no need and greet and that they let them in early. Sh**e planning, not organised at all. Manager was useless as well as the staff. Will not be going again, I will warn others too

I am absolutely disgusted by the…

I am absolutely disgusted by the service. I’m absolutely horrified with the service. I booked three tickets for myself my husband and my three year old daughter for the 28th March. Unfortunately a family member passed away. I have emailed over 12 times and I’ve phoned over 40 times know one ever answers there phones or responds to anything. I finally got a response when I phoned. I had one lovely lady answer the phone and spoke to her manager they politely said they will give me a refund due to the circumstances. I waited 2 days and no emails to confirm the refund and no refund money. I have tired all day over 60 calls. And not one single person has answered me. I am going through enough stress dealing with a loss. I paid £120 for this visit. I’m just utterly disappointed and exhausted of chasing my money. And chasing for someone to answer their own phone.

If you want bad service and all around not a good time whilst you’re going through a passing. I wouldn’t attempt to book here.

I wish knowone has to go through what myself and my family have gone through.
Westmidland safari park you should be ashamed of yourselves. You won’t be anything without your customers. Your customers pay for your park to continue running and all the staffs wage. Continue treating customers the way I’ve been treated your park will lose many customers.

Safari tour

Safari tour, we were disappointed not to see cheetahs on our visit, if they were there they were not to be seen, our experience was not too bad but for over £100 it could have been much better... Our most important issue was although there are two roads around tour presumably an overtaking road for when your not interested in queuing to see something, good idea BUT it was not kept clear,, as we were about to leave enclosed gated area, we were queuing 30/45 mins not moving at all at intervals, we had got into overtaking lane as one of the nine year girls needed toilet desperately (we did take them to toilet before we went in) a younger child had to use empty bottle in car, the problem seemed to arise because now both lanes were being used for watching giraffes instead of staff monitoring situation and moving cars on in overtaking lane, the situation for our granddaughter became very distressing and most certainly need not have occurred and spoiled the experience. We do plan on taking the free return visit with children, hoping for a better experience. However I don't think we will pay £111 again for the experience.

WMSP is an absolute disgrace

WMSP is an absolute disgrace. They advertised this amazing Bluey experience which was basically a woman stood on stage tossing balloons at kids. We queued for over an hour to get into the site itself - horrendous organisation - then queued for over an hour to see bluey. Couldn’t get in to a meet and greet so a total waste of time. Everything is extortionately priced and we even had to queue at every stage around the safari despite leaving it until last.

I contacted customer services to express my disappointment at the bluey event and organisation of the day to be told that when you buy tickets the terms and conditions state that whatever happens on your day is what it is. They don’t offer any customer service beyond that, no refunds or anything.

So BE WARNED if you go here and have a terrible day - due to their mismanagement - you’ve already agreed in the T&Cs that they will not take responsibility for the quality of your day once they have your money!

Absolutely disgraceful. Such a shame as I had such fond memories of visiting as a child.

Overpriced, badly run, tired, dated & dirty

Where do I start?! I guess the same place we did, with 25 mins of queuing on the main road before we even entered the gates. And once we did finally turn off the road there was another 35 mins of queuing before we got to the kiosks, then another drive to park the car and a lengthy walk to get back down and in to the park. Once inside we then had another 15 minute queue to get our wristbands. Quite why you bother selling them online and then making people queue up with everyone else to collect them I’ll never know.

The queues for the rides themselves were actually not too bad, but the rides were all very dated. We visited in October last year and put the tiredness and dirtiness down to it being the end of the season, but given we visited in the first week you were open again thats clearly just how things are.

Several rides closed, more of the rides where you have to pay than anything else (all cash only with no card machines and no working change machine). The staff all seemed disinterested and like they’d rather be somewhere else.

More massive queues at anywhere selling food, and no free tables on which to eat it even if you did.

The main reason for our visit was the ‘Meet & Greet with Bluey’ but alas, more disappointment as the queues for that were over 45 mins long each time.

We kept an eye on the cars going through the safari park the whole time and it was ridiculous, barely moving and two lanes of traffic the entire time we were there, so in the end we left without even bothering.

For over £100 it was a VERY expensive day out which consisted mainly of queuing and sitting in the car. Even a free return trip won’t get us to bother going here again.

Happy to take money but not help

Before you book. Make sure you are not a minute late. Due to traffic lights we were set back by 3 nins and refused entry to the safari park. You do however get a return ticket so I was like ok we are not completely out of pocket (£140 booking) I asked if we could split our ticket as we are unable to come again together and on both occasions the company was unhelpful. They reply on here like they are willing to help but via email couldn't care less. Its a beautiful safari but they is no room for help should a incident occur.

After asking twice for help it's safe to say I'll not be spending any more money on this attraction

Good all round experience

After visiting west midlands Safari with the kids, we noticed that many of the enclosures had no animals in (or at least none were visible). There were long ques and there isn't much interaction from any of the animals. The park / ride area was great for the kids however and was well maintained. You do get to return for free within 12 months which we will be using again, but a little more needs to be done on the Safari tour side of the park.

Disappointing stay and absolutely APPALLING after care service

We stayed in the giraffe lodge early December. Checked in around 2.30. The lodge itself was lovely and seemed fairly clean.

By around 5pm the lodge was cold and we turned on the heating which wasn’t working. We rang through to ask someone to look at the heating and eventually having to chase 3/4 times someone eventually came and confirmed it wasn’t working as it should. At this point it was freezing and you could see your own breath. They went away to see what they could do and eventually at 9pm moved us to the panda lodge which did have fit for purpose heating. It turns out that the giraffe and Rhino lodges do not have heating that can cope with cold winter weather (consider this if booking in the winter months/ although cheaper).

Our whole evening was ruined having to chase the staff for updates and food provided/ booked wasted and not eaten. They knew we had a 1 year old with us and we were not seen as a priority what so ever, we did not pack for any of us to be inside at night/ sleeping in single figure conditions. We also got no photos of us the following day in our lodge we paid for as we were obviously moved to more suitable accommodation eventually. We had a very tiered/ cold baby and travelling with her to the next lodge at 9.30 at night was not ideal.

The following day it turned out we were not the only ones who had a terrible/ waste of money experience because of the fact the lodges were not fit for anyone being able to withstand the freezing conditions as the lodges mentioned above do not have adequate heating systems. At least 3 other families had been moved/ complained.

I emailed a complaint as advised by the checkout staff to Belle to request a full refund as we basically spent 2 hours in our £500 plus pound stay or a request for another stay in the giraffe lodge. One other family got a full refund we were only offered a 50% refund for the same complaint???

This is were my actual negative review starts… the aftercare: guest relations team is the MOST appalling I’ve ever witnessed.

They REFUSED to call me back on multiple occasions/ still never got one after almost 2 weeks of asking as was dissatisfied with outcome ( Katie you said you you would once we had resolved, 2 weeks later, but I declined and to be honest it absolutely wouldn’t have happened anyway)

Katie advised after 2/3 email responses that 50% refund would be her final offer and would no longer correspond with me. This is after notifying her I was aware she gave another family a full refund ( think they lost a lot of money over this period) my issue was I never got to speak to them on the phone whereas the other family did.

Belle did reply back to me after saying I wasn’t happy with the 50% refund after a week and a half of chasing them and said she had reviewed their offer and now would offer me a stay in the giraffe lodge on another date. After being ignored, told I wouldn’t be spoken to again, being treated differently to other families in the same situation I was absolutely furious. This is what I asked for in the first place a replacement stay??. Had they just agreed from the off I would have come again. The lodge and park itself is ok but by this point I was so upset with how this had been dealt with I advised Katie because of the above I’d rather have a 50% refund as I certainly wouldn’t be taking the risk of this experience again.

Such a shame as we certainly would have been back and recommended others and my friend who recommended me is mortified.

IF YOU HAVE A COMPLAINT OR ARE LOOKING FOR ANY FORM OF COMPENSATION DO NOT LEAVE THE PARK UNTIL RESOLVED. A VERY EXPENSIVE LESSON LEARNT!

A fantastic safari lodge

A fantastic safari lodge , excellent food delivered to your door. All the animals can be seen at close range & are in super fit condition & look happy & healthy. The staff & keepers were all very helpful & pleasant & so knowledgeable & nothing was too much trouble.Highest praise goes particularly to Rachel for an inspired tour of the park, her confident & pleasing manner & her vast knowledge of every species in the park. She answered all our questions & more. Overall a brilliant place to visit & enjoy this amazing experience.

Animals should come first in zoos

Animals should come first in zoos; at WMSP, they come last: Being trapped in the midst of a booming fairground, wandering aimlessly on meagre patches of dust flecked with withered grass, breathing in the heavy fumes from an endless stream of stopping and starting cars is the miserable lot of those poor creatures. If you love the thrill of cheap funfairs, hanker after copious American style junk food outlets, revel in joining traffic jams and couldn't care one iota about animals then this is a destination for you. Otherwise, find an animal-centred park and appreciate the animals.

Average

I would describe our visit as average. We saw plenty of animals whilst on the drive round but there was an incident where a rhino ran into a vehicle causing significant damage. I will use the free ticket as the weather took a turn for the worst meaning the kids couldn't see the meerkats etc but I won't be doing the drive round due to the incident I mentioned. Very expensive so may be worth bringing a packed lunch.

Farce of an operation

1st time back in 10 years and will defiantly be the last. We pre-booked our tickets online to save time when we arrived at the park, what a farce that was as when you get there you are just put in the same queues as the pay on the day customers which took half an just to get in.

It took us nearly 3 hours to get around and half of the animals were either hiding, asleep or in their enclosures.

Whilst I understand that the staff must ensure the safety of both the customers and animals the staff just don’t seem bothered about how long you are sat waiting in your car to get around, I even thought I had burnt my clutch out at one point and we witnessed a vehicle having to be towed off the car park due to burning the clutch out going around the safari.

It appears that they are trying to cram as many people/cars in to maximise their profits.it would be a better idea to give people time slots for the safari.

After the safari we went into the theme park area for food, one of the eateries had a sign saying there was a 30 minute wait to be seated, another eatery did not have all of the food items that were on display, when questioned about this the reply was “ we haven’t had those items for weeks but we can’t change the menu display “ maybe you put a notice up stating items that you do not have to save customers queuing for nothing.

Paid for wristbands for the fair but it is only after you have paid that they inform you that not all of the rides are operating but they still charge you full price for the wrist band.

I understand that business struggled during the pandemic but this place needs a complete overall in the way it is being operated.

They give you a free return ticket but I’m afraid we won’t be using it!!!!!

Very disappointing

Very disappointing. We booked our tickets online and read the relevant information about the careers ticket we had travelled down on holiday and we're extremely excited to go to the Safari Park on arrival we showed our tickets and my son's disability card with photo id and on the card, it shows that the recipient receives either DVLA, PIP or a Blue Badge which it states on the website I was told I had to wait for a manager who arrived and declined the card. I explained to the lady that this card is the same as DVLA paperwork and it saves carrying around paperwork and the card is recognised Nationally. It is also been used in Disney land Paris and nobody has ever questioned it. I explained we were on holiday and all the documents were at home. Still, no was the reply. At no time was I offered a resolution I was not offered to pay the difference or I thought they might let us come in and we could forward relevant information when I returned home in the end we had no alternative but to leave as I was made to feel like a criminal trying to get in for free after I had spent £130 on tickets and attractions. I had to explain to two children that we could not go in which was very upsetting. We also cut our holiday short. All in all not the way you expected to be treated when visiting a family attraction with a disabled child.

An unique experience or a holiday park building site

In April 21, WMSP advertised a unique experience, stay in 1/8 lodges (6Elephant/2Cheetah), enjoy a 3course dinner and breakfast in their Cellarz restaurant/cocktail bar. It sounded amazing, so I booked for my partner's birthday (his 50th was in lock down) for March 2022, Cost £438 for Lodge/£333VIP tour (Total £771). As the lodges were new, we had to trust what WMSP were claiming in their adverts, as we couldn’t read reviews, prior to booking this unique!!experience.
Since April 21, They now have 18 lodges (Orig 8, plus 4Giraffe,4Rhino,2Red Panda) with new Tiger Lodges also coming. Some lodges, are still in the process of being built, causing bad reviews about parts of the park, being a large building site. They claim you have the lodge from 2pm-11am. But due to transport to and from lodge, you have to pre-book transport time, so you won't get 21hrs you paid for. Lodge guests are no longer allowed to dine or use the bar in their Cellarz restaurant. This temp covid closure, is now permanent and isn't being changed back, so guests must now eat in their lodge. WMSP, claim that guests want meals this way, to enjoy the experience fully. But guest reviews are saying that, it gets boring, as once you are in – you are in (You can't get back to your car) and once it’s dark, you cannot see any animals as they are put into overnight pens. Food is delivered late and cold/warm not hot.
I believe WMSP, stopped guests using the Cellarz restaurant, as it's being advertised for weddings again. Plus if they cannot manage to deliver hot food on time to the handful of lodges now being used, how can they deal with the major problems, connected to moving guests around in 18+ lodges. So they all claiming guests want food in their lodges, as they think it will stop complaints. But guests paying up to and over £1k for a experience of a lifetime, should be given the option of where to eat now covid restrictions have been lifted as other hotels are allowing guests to use the facilities they paid for, including restaurants. One guest review, explains that they asked to be taken from the lodge to the park area to have a break from their lodge and were told no, as there wasn’t any staff free to take them. That shows, WMSP doesn't care about customer service, satisfaction or respect, their guests.
Their limited menu, changed to fussy options, like starters (Parsnip & Smoked Apple Carpaccio, silver birch syrup, watercress or Wild Game Terrine, spring grove woodland berry compote and black pepper toasts), mains (Slow Braised Ox Cheek, Parsley Mash, Pancetta & pearl Onions, honey glazed root veg or Pan fried Salmon, olive oil crushed potatoes, green beans and Hollandaise sauce or Wild mushroom, smoked mozzarella, music bread, Green almond pesto and broccoli). Every person I have shown that menu to have said they wouldn’t want to eat any of it.
WMSP unique experience is- you cannot ring and get through to the lodges, customer services or managers, when you ring and push most options, the call is cut off after the automated system tells you to go online and complete their form. But don’t get your hopes up that your query/complaint will be dealt with as they don’t phone back or reply to online query/complaints either. I know as, since the 20.02.22, I have tried ringing, left messages, rang other departments, asking to be put through to lodges, customer services and managers. I have been cut off by staff and have only had one call back from Katy B (21.02.22) – who told me of staff issues and customers complains about the food and that WMSP have sent out for food to keep guests happy.
I would like to write in what was said in an email on the 24.02.22, unfortunately I don't have enough space, but I was promised a bottle of wine or full refund from Belle 24.02.22. I tried to contact them to discuss a new menu, but I cannot get through to answers to queries, so now I am trying to get a call or email to confirm that they will cancel and return my money. I don't feel that 21hours trapped in a lodge, without seeing any animals (its not guaranteed) and burger and chips (instead of 3course dinner), is my idea of an unique experience. This is not the birthday I planned or wanted for my partner when I spent £771 as a replacement 50th.
So just remember, they won't deal with your query or care if you get any satisfaction from your stay. You are not guaranteed to see any animals and they are put in pens overnight. You have no control over the time you get to or leave the lodge and once you are in - you are in, so expect to be bored and hope you actually like the food options as you can't pop to a takeaway. So before you act like the idiot I was, really think before you part with your money. They don't care if you have any type of experience, as they have your money. But unhappy guests don't come back and take other future guests with them.

The safari was good

The safari was good, we got to see most of the animals and it didn't take too long to get round (about 1.5 hours). The sea lion show was great and the kids really enjoyed seeing the animals in the walkaround areas. The disappointing part was the rides. We weren't told when we bought wristbands that most of the rides for older children/adults were closed. Our teenage children were left with little choice of rides suitable for their age group/height, but that didn't stop WMSP charging the full price!
The ride operators were mostly well mannered, but some were quite belligerent. One attendant tried to stop my son from entering a ride that he was clearly tall enough for (we checked before joining the queue). It was only after a 'discussion' that he accepted he was wrong and let my son on. Given that this person, in his own words, had been operating this ride for 5 years, it seemed odd that he hadn't a clue what the height requirements were!

Never Again

What an absolute horrific experience, especially the Safari!
Nearly 3 hours to get around, bumper to bumper stop and starting for what??? The lions, tigers could have been stuffed or cuddly toys as far as we could tell as none of them moved at all they were lifeless
Packed overcrowded with cars god if little ones or seniors need toilets or become unwell as you are trapped in your car with nowhere to go for hours.
The wild woods where u wait for an eternity for the gates to open with all the windows having to be locked was a farce, there was no sign of any lively animals, 1 or 2 sleeping in long grass enclosed which could be mistaken as logs or clodges, oh sorry a Magpie did fly past us once!!
Cars were cheating the queue to get any sort of sighting and were even short cutting the course to get out - not really good is it when people are trying to get out of an entertainment/ attraction parks at any cost
The shows or ok and the food is very expensive and of poor quality
NEVER EVER AGAIN - what a RIP - OFF

We all went on a trip to the saffari…

We all went on a trip to the saffari park today which the two year old had really been looking forward to, we arrived at 15:01, was due to be earlier but however there was an accident on the motorway which delayed us around an hour.,

Upon arrival the woman at the kiosk said we had to go straight in as it was last entry but I explained that the two year old child had an accident in the car on the way in so we said could we quickly go to the toilet to get her changed, the lady at the desk said that was no problem so we bought food at the kiosk to feed the animals with, she said she would let the park rangers know we was running slightly late took our reg and we carried on in.

After going to the toilet we then arrived at the entrance gate to the safari park we sat & waited for the gates to open for around 5 minutes we also tried to ring the office several times but didn’t get through, so we proceeded to drive back around and go to the main reception.

My partner explained the situation to the woman at the desk who then went on to try and say we could not be allowed entry as we had missed the last entry slot even though we was promised we would be fine to go in, this obviously left the two year old really upset as she never got to see the animals & enjoy the afternoon we had planned for her.

We had explained to the lady on reception at the time that our child had a duplex kidney condition which can cause her to need to go to the toilet several times

We had explained to the staff member who was on reception at the time we had told the lady at the kiosk our child needed to go to the toilet before entrance to the safari park so we could change her due to having an accident & soiling herself on the way in, the staff member then went on to respond saying “it wasn’t her problem” and she couldn’t do anything about it we had missed the last entry and we couldn’t go in, all while being promised by the kiosk lady there would be no issue whatsoever. We then went on to ask to speak to one of the managers there which she refused saying she wouldn’t go and get one of them without giving us a reason why not .

We was left feeling disgusted as to how the staff were treating us & felt discriminated against as the child had an accident so she had to be left out while all of the other children were allowed access without a problem.

After a long process of discussions with the receptionist she went on to say we could go in but we would have to miss the vast majority of the animals & catch up with the other cars, we tried to reason with her and ask for our free return to be re-issued so we could use it again at a later date so the child wouldn’t feel left out , after another long discussion with her saying no she finally agreed to have a free return on the condition that we only went into the safari park & we weren’t allowed to go into the rides area where the other animals & children were.

For a so called “child friendly” establishment we couldn’t believe how we had been treated & discriminated against all because our child had soiled herself, trying to explain to a two year old that she wasn’t allowed to go and join the other children & animals was heartbreaking.

This is totally unacceptable that the one thing she was most excited to see was Dinosaur area that she wasn’t allowed to go in!.

Overall we had a rushed 10 minute safari drive around, missed half of the animals & left with a very upset child as she wasn’t allowed to go and join in with the others all because she had soiled herself before arriving.

The overall experience from West Midlands Safari park was an utter disgrace , left feeling discriminated, zero understanding from the staff, we couldn’t even enjoy the 10 minute safari drive after feeling that belittled .

This needs to be addressed as no customer should be left feeling this way from a well known big establishment as yours, I have never experienced customer service like this before to be victimised I will be taking this further and seeking action

Love this place its great

Love this place its great, it was a bit over crowded but tbh i didnt mine because they must of needed more visitors in to pay for the well being of the animals since they had no income for a while i had a query about my free return and they sorted that straight out aswell i can understand peoples complaints but you have got to think of it from the other perspective also masks where worn in all indoor areas but not outdoors so to me no rules were broken i cant wait to stay in one of the lodges but nothing available until next year i would like to know if you do veterans discount on these aswell many thanks also what the guarantee of seeing the animals is :)
