This vets is all about taking as much money off of you. They don't give you pricing until after they have finished the procedure. On top of that they also have a triple mark up on the prescription drugs. My advise is ask for a prescription and then ordered medication online. Also on one last note Rita you need some serious customer service training. Try and have a conversation and they don't like whet you're saying they put the phone down.

Werrington Vets have treated my old cat, Milo, very well. He was a stray and nobody wanted him, but bit by bit, they have helped bring him into a much better health and quality of life. I took him for a visit on 15th August, due to a problem with his mouth. The receptionists and vets were very helpful and caring with him, and hopefully, he is now on the road to recovery. I will take him back when I can book him in for some dental work.

Vet nurse was lovely. My dog had a grass seed removed at the cost of £346!
Reception staff were terrible! It felt like the young girl on reception didn’t really want to be there. Waited half an hour to be seen. No explanation. Then when I collected my dog I was waiting an hour. After half an hour I asked the receptionist why it’s taking so long and she said she forgot I was there! Then more excuses were made. Again, no apologies or explanations. Dreadful customer service from the receptionist.
Used to be a fantastic vets, but now it’s really disappointing.

Terrible, money grabbing, uncaring, we have been with this vets over a year they have missed our dogs booster although we asked about this.
Took our dog in to see what was wrong with his coat, tried to sell us the most expensive food was told an allergy test would cos £750 even though they have the facilites on site, on one visit the receptionist showed no interest then we found out she was in fact the practice manager!! very rude & ignorant person. Avoid at all costs & go somewhere with people that care about animals over profit!

The more the prices escalate at this practice, the further the standards fall. Today I collected two items of pain relief for my dog. On one the label was correct at 50mg per pill but the pills inside the box were double that dosage. They are capsules, so cannot be cut. It was just lucky that I noticed the discrepancy before I gave this medicine to my dog! This is not the first time there has been either danger or delay with the provision of meds. Recently there was a mismatch between a label and the quantity inside and the pricing was according to the contents, double what was ordered. Then there were several delays with receiving an online medicine because the practice failed several times to communicate accurately with the online vet: failed to give prescribing vet's name and details of the pet. I am beyond exasperated, disillusioned and have lost trust in them. Not a safe place for animals.

Highly upsetting incident. Witnessed one of the veterinary nurses drag my dog across the floor of the reception and through the doors without even trying to pick him up or ask me to go through with him as normal. Treated him like a toy dog not a real animal.
This was to trim his claws which afterwards were as long as before so not sure what she did with him.
If you want a vets that care about their animals, I would go elsewhere.
Not to mention the extortionate pricing to loyal clients - quadrupling the true cost of medication.

Since Werrington vets has been taken over by CVRS this has fundamentally changed everything. The website requires an extensive update as the details therein mislead clients. Yes this practice started as a small business with the idea pets were their priority. Since the buy out that I became aware of at the beginning of 2023, the vets we once knew and trusted are now gone, this includes all other staff. Leaving me the long term client with a lot of questions.
Reliability, last visit was alarming, waited over 20 minutes to be seen with my animals and later finding out the delay was due to a meeting. In addition, no other animals were seen while we waited or indeed left, this was and is highly unusual, what are we not being told? Is it possible that some vets club together, get profitable and then just sell on?

The demise of a trustworthy vet, when taken over by a corporation they no longer care about your pets it's far more about how much money they can make out of you with unnecessary tests - thus prolonging the discomfort and pain that your pet may be suffering!

I totally agree with the previous comment from John I initially thought this practice was great oh how things have changed I have a very large anti social dog who on the first visit had to be sedated to be examined for a skin complaint but I wanted to have a full mot which cost a fortune and no result since then I have needed them to examine him for an ear infection which was done over the phone and then at a distance outside the practice what a joke was prescribed antibiotics and steroids that was some months ago was told to keep him on the steroid well recently he was yelping in pain couldn’t get him downstairs but they insisted I bring him in yet again he needed sedation after an hour they attempted sedation after vet inserted needle he yelped she jumped and pulled it out so had to do it all again I was asked to wait out front in case he didn’t go under and would have to repeat half hour later vet came and said give it another ten minutes he’s almost under ten minutes later comes and says he is asleep but can we help put him on the guerney! At which point sensing us he half woke up! Anyway we go home an hour or so later phone rings can we go and fetch him they done X-ray blood cut his nails etc told iTHINK it’s arthritis I can’t find anything else here’s some gabapentin and give him paracetamol for that little visit I paid over £1500 and told to carry on with steroids for his skin which was in fact for ear infection the next two or three days he was still no different they ordered further pain relief which took another week by the way it took me two hours to get him out of the car now I don’t mind paying if I have a positive outcome but this is the second time I’m fuming I have no insurance I’m disabled and have only my benefits which fell on deaf ears after an on line search I find out steroids are not good for arthritis and I come across yumove and for £60 he is more or less fine i am disgusted with these so called animal lovers I have no photo id but believe me this is a genuine review also when this practice was taken over by whoever should the customer not of been informed and given an option to stay or go the reason I was first drawn to them was their advertising statement as I was sick of paying an arm and a leg for treatment I notice that that said statement is still the opening to their site is that not deceptive as it is now a falsehood every sentence I write I remember something else I am not happy with and I have only been there probably 3 times sorry to ramble on and I’m sure a lot of you have had positive outcomes but it needs to be an even playing field and don’t be surprised when your back is against the wall and all you can see is their backs trotting to the bank one last thing what a lot of poo this is WELCOME TO WERRINGTON VETS

It's amazing how a good vets can suddenly become an absolutely useless and inept operation. Sold their souls to a corporate money grabbing machine. It used to be a pleasure going there and now it is simply, take your pet to see them to be subjected to a constant onslaught of trying to sell you something you never went there for. On my last visit with our dog, in the first few minutes the vet tried to sell me tooth cleansing products...we went for a rash on her back. Then she looked at a callous on her leg which has been there for years and she exclaimed that it was infected and needed antibiotics. Shampoo, a spray and some antibiotics prescribed...OVER £200. To make it worse, we only have emailed invoices and it wasn't until I got home and received the invoice that I saw the extortionate charge on the antibiotics...£3.76 per single tablet, a total for 30 tablets came to a staggering £112.00. I emailed them straight away but they didn't answer. Upon checking, the said tablets can be purchased from an authorised vet supplies stockist for £1.38 to £1.42. That's £2.34 PER TABLET MORE AT THIS VETS...that is not profit, that is racketeering. To make it worse and add insult to injury, our dogs leg was not infected...it was simply where she scraped her leg on the patio floor. We washed it with soap and warm water, sprayed some HibiScrub on it and she's fine. So, not only ripped off on tablets we didn't really need, the vet misdiagnosed it totally. Now, they refuse to refund for unopened, unused and misdiagnosed medicine. This is not the first instance with them and enough is enough. CHECK YOUR BILLS BEFORE YOU LEAVE THE PRACTICE TO MAKE SURE YOU'RE NOT CONNED AND OVERCHARGED. THE DOWNFALL OF THIS VETS IS STAGGERING...AVOID THEM NOW THEY ARE PART OF CVS LTD...a corporate only money matters machine.

I made the difficult decision to put my beautiful boy to sleep today. I cannot thank this practice enough for their understanding and compassion. I had been having nightmares about this day and was expecting the worse. I was not expecting a homely room with a sofa for this purpose as previous experience was very clinical. They explained the procedure completly with the utmost compassion. Thank you to all the staff x

Out for the money and lack of consideration for what is best for the animal.
If you plan on going with this vet please make sure you double/triple check that they are administering the procedure/treatment you have booked and not a more expensive one. I don’t feel it is appropriate to go into specific details publicly but what I will say, is the vets are very careful to word things to get you to agree to more expensive and unnecessary treatments. We were left feeling tricked and £150 extra out of pocket. Our poor dog has had an unnecessary (and irreversible) treatment. Use with extreme caution.

This truly is the best vets in Peterborough in my opinion. I have a 7 year old dog that has health issues, including a recent hip replacement and they are outstanding with him.

This veterinary practice has the latest tech to handle most operations in-house, which is great as I don't have to travel further afield for this. The hip replacement hasn't required all the additional after care, such as hydrotherapy that I've seen most dogs need. I value the time they took to fully update on procedures carried out, so you know what to expect.

The vets, nurses and receptionists are all lovely, making each visit feel like they really care. My dog can't wait to go there (surprising for a dog!) and loves the attention he gets.

Absolutely the best vets we have been to, they have always gone above and beyond to care for my dog, they explain everything and are always happy to answer any questions I’ve had (which has been a few) you can see how much they care for your animal, the whole team from the moment you walk through the door are so welcoming and friendly and knowledgeable, it’s really nice to feel this comfortable having someone there you trust to help care for your dog,

I have always found Werrington Vets to be accommodating and extremely helpful. Unlike many other vets the animal comes first, not the money. I would recommend them to any pet owner.

We found this veterinary practice to be sincere honest friendly and they put your animals first, the reception team are very friendly and helpful, with the practice owners being so caring hard working and getting to the sauce of your animals problems quickly with detailed information given as to what needs to be done, we would recommend this practice to anyone who luvs their animals that wants a straight forward caring and very friendly relationship with both practice and their animals
